TaylorMade M4 Driver
Why is it better?
- Features a new face curvature with corrective face angle that reduces side spin, and helps in delivering straighter shots.
- Provides improved loft in high-toe, and less loft in low-heel for a more consistent spin.
- It has a hammerhead slot for a lighter, and more flexible face that results in increased ball speed, and eliminate unwanted spin for more distance.

so this is my full in-depth review of the new tailor-made m4 driver ever this driver in my bag for the last two weeks I've been out on the Gulf Coast with this driver I have tested this driver on multiple different days usually we see quad and probably wanted to give you the most in-depth review of this product I'm going to answer your questions in this video and I'm also going to give the m4 driver my final conclusion so tell me claim they're still packing as much technology into this driver as possible but it does come at a cheaper price point this driver roughly around 100 pounds cheaper / $80 cheaper it features twist face still as the m3 does so a way of helping find more fairways on off since it hits hammerhead technology to keep the ball speed hot or low hits but instead of the weight track along the back the white rack this technology which is a debatable word to hours if trooper told is gee acoustic and this is a way of designing they had differently for it to sound more explosive there is a weight port here at the back it does the adjustable sleeve its loft like the m3 house and it still looks pretty awesome let's show the data and give you some ideas of what I found when I hit this driver on GC quad and out on the golf course too [Music] so m4 testing I tested this on three different occasions in DC quad here at the golf academy and to check out the golf course and played with it a couple of times first I'm gonna talk a little bit about my findings about the tech and certainly the twist space I found it to be a little bit different to the m3 twist face I'll explain why I think that's the case let's dive through the actual numbers first of the testing process these are three different days ten shots plus on each of the days so we got we've got my optimum performance day to rope on screen these are all the performance data from last 12 months of testing drivers so we now bring in the m4 numbers into this chart and we see a couple of surprising factors but the big numbers are actually bang on target so we look at the carry distance that is in that optimum performance range that I like to see with the driver just under two hundred and seventy nine yards and for a total distance of two nine eight I would see and I saw this throughout the full testing with the m4 the ball speed was a fraction lower than I was getting with m3 spin rate was a touch high it wasn't it wasn't about 2,600 but I managed to drop it down to 2,300 by actually lowering the loft I actually cranked a loft down by 0.66 of a degree to bring this 9.5 degree head into a eight point nine degree head and I brought those spin figures down a little bit the m4 like the m2 and the m1 in the past the m4 has always been a slightly higher spin model I've used the same shaft this is the ten size shaft 70 gram X blanks so for me the numbers on board a two was solid nothing outstanding but nothing that was too disappointing these are all my club data so we see here club head speed smash factor I was slightly hitting more on the way up more than I ever adduct testing so that might have been why I was just presenting a little bit more loft and maybe just hitting it a touch higher than what I normally see but it wouldn't I did crank the loft even lower but actually then didn't like the ball flight I found it come out too flat I didn't like that ball flight so I kept it at that kind of eight point nine degrees so all the product testing actually in Academy it hit the criterion no problem at all it did get an approve in that category but again nothing outstanding but let's talk about the main features twist face now this drive of the m4 because they've shaved more or the back of the driver out it's actually a little bit of a deeper face and because of that as I said the club behind the ball I would say the twist face on the m4 just ever so slightly more noticeable I seem to see a little bit more of the toe flaring outwards a little bit more loft a little bit more outwards that I was recognizing in the m3 the other big thing are definitely noted without question was the loudness of this driver the G acoustic desired across the back the way they've shaped differently definitely makes this driver sound much louder I actually want to get to a point where come measure driver sound and actually measure the volume that the frequency it's coming off at if you have any suggestions of how I can do that I'd love to hear your thoughts below but really just straight away it was an ear piercing ly loud sound someone liked it some will hate it I was in the camper hating it I actually preferred the m3 sound so then we get back to this twist face and did it see any difference of performance out on the golf course this is my little red book a testing made a loads of notes when I tested it and these are my findings on some of the shots that hit off-center so as a generalization over the twists face I found this particular driver for the way I hit the ball a little bit high toe and a little bit open I found with the m4 that the results seemed to favor more of a shot that would go to the right I found shops with the m4 to leak a little bit more to the right and it gave me no alteration spell to crank any weights or anything to put it into a setting that's different and the only way I can put that down to potentially with it being a slightly deeper head and that toe flare beam seems just a little bit more pronounced well I caught that height oh I did see shots that leaked off to the right I'm really on paper that's what Taylor made a claim in there doing more of if you hit toe they've seen in results that the ball will go further left and miss target left well certainly I didn't find shots from hitting off the toe that I went any further left in fact I was struggling to hit it left off those toe shots so in one degree of that's of bonus for players who hit the toe and go left but for someone like me who hits the toe and particularly draws it I was struggling to get that shape that I require an ad desire from normal bulge and roll and some of the shots I saw here this was actually day one of testing and this was shot number three and I absolutely nailed this there was no question about the performance on a good here is exceptional when I got him right and it was just awesome nailed the third shot but then we saw shots where and I hit the toe on shot five and it kind of found the fairway no I wasn't massively impressed but it got back to fairway so shot number eight day one this was one that really kind of shocked me and really started to make me question about twists face on this particular shot I swung through the golf ball unbelievably straight my path to my face was super straight and I've hit location that's height oh this ball finished for me twenty eight point seven yards to the right and that seems like a long way considering everything was square with normal baldon role I would typically see a shot that might draw back toward middle if not go further left but when I presented everything square and hit the toe it went to the right for me and that was a shock moment I must admit and but then again it back to a couple shots later where shot him at an absolutely screamed Oh nailed it so that was kind of interesting to me I felt like it had a more of a right biased while I didn't hit it well and the whole idea of twists face is to stop the ball curving left too far and I'll tell you what I would say that I didn't see the ball curving left too far after toe hits in fact I almost saw a little bit too much of the opposite effect so now I'm on the golf course and played golf with the m4 played twice on the golf course a couple of testing courses and the 10th hole West blanks I tried to mulch the drill I've hit it from the toe and it's missed a fairway a long way to the right and this one I want to remember with this twist face to play will still override everything that happens and believe me when I say I can still hit this driver and you will be able to still hit this driver our bounds it's not a miracle cure it's not gonna make everybody hit the ball straight I think it's gonna help some golfers but not particularly everybody but then the the very next shot I'm absolutely crunched out the middle again and it gone like a rocket ship it is flown I think we measured it 350 plus yards but then every time I tried to draw it 13 told tried to draw it couldn't 15 cold tries to fade it hit the toe and it over fade faded and I thought when I looked up at the flight on 15 I thought that I was gonna go too far to the left but it stayed relatively straight and if anything slightly over faded so really twist face for me wasn't doing a great deal and don't forget these are all shops that I've not purposely eight from the time I heal these are just organic shots that took place then I took it around for me ladies golf course and one of the tightest golf courses that I could ever use a driver from but I give it a go second hole I hit towed it went left just to clarify that twist face isn't in the savior world the player is still going to override it fourth hole try to evade hit the toe and it fade it too far but on the eighth hole absolutely annihilated it again there's dead straight down the fairway so it feels like it's got a mixed personality and I know I don't hit shot straight all the time but I felt like some shots that I hit in certain locations on this face I was expecting to look them and see one ball flight and then I saw a completely different ball flight and that was that was somewhat of a concern for me and a couple of the shots that I'm noticed on decent quad was day two shot turner hit it absolutely out the screws when I got it right it was a flying machine but when I didn't quite get it right and I didn't match up to what TaylorMade was saying this drivers gonna fix I found not great results bad results in my opinion for this way I hit the girl shot and in the final day of testing hit one shot high toe when try again open-faced but I hit another one which was a toe here and it went left with a closed face so just found I found mixed results very mixed results and for me somewhat unexpected results and this is where I found that the m4 was way more of a fade type Golf Club because of the way that that flair opens to the right but if I found it fade another golfer that hits a different part of the face might find it a completely different ball entirely and this is where I see completely with the m3 m4 range that you've got to test it as a golfer because everybody is individual and I mean that everybody is individual and to put a ball I can keep cover on the fact that a guy who hits toh hai toh is going to be close face that's not always the case and the guy who hits a girl lady hits low heel and they're always going to be open no that's not the case now what I did see good signs off was hammer head again was doing a good job when I hit low hits I didn't see a huge drop-off in ball speed but with hammer head we've seen that work in drivers before saw it work in the original m2 with the speeds pocket they've just added some ribs and I think I said it's a bit of a competitor for epic but for me I didn't see any drop-off in ball speed nothing noticeable off those low hits right let's get some of your questions we've got some great ones coming along some general topics to talk about and then we get my final conclusion of the tale made m4 driver [Music] it's such a different noise om3 still and right questions that have come in from you guys the first thing and this was quite a hot topic actually and I thought I must admit more people might know about this between M 1 and M 2 is why is them for cheaper and does it drop off in performance well the big thing for me really the only thing that makes it cheaper is that you don't have as much adjustable weights there's no adjustable track at the back this is really the only thing you can adjust is the loft sleeve and that is pretty much it regards to performance actually performance on paper I didn't really see any massive differences apart from the fact that the weight is a little bit further back therefore you're gonna see a little bit of a higher spin as a as a generalization that's not again always gonna be the case so really it's cheaper just because you can't adjust it as much as M 3 so another really common question was is it any better than last year's M 2 so again just on generalization of testing I don't see that much of a difference in performance looks wise I think it looks a lot better than last year's M 2 the way that it's way more symmetrical at the bottom I'm a big fan of the silver top I know many people aren't a big fan of they actually prefer the white but I really loved that bottom way more symmetrical and silver top so personally I think it looks better than last year's M 2 but still in my opinion it doesn't look as good as the first ever generation M - I still her it's one of the best looking drivers ever made and this doesn't quite stack up to it from my opinion I think if you've got Russia's m1 or m2 or the year before I'm one of them - are you gonna see much of a difference in performance probably not but if you do fit in tell them its category in the fact of being a closed face high toe or open facial and Anna Healey sharp you might benefit from very small amount so that's the only way you can work out as if you're actually tested but for me on paper performance is not going to be that much difference between this and so big kind of question would would this club go in my bag and the answer is no not unless something dramatically changes again for me there was a couple of reasons why it wouldn't go in the bag as much as I love the look of this driver and as soon as I ripped the head cover off and I saw it I was like oh yeah so much better look I like the feel I'm not the biggest fan of the sound it's a little bit on the high side all outside and then the technology with the twist face I just didn't feel like for the way I hit the golf ball it suits my game but that doesn't mean that's a blanket for everybody I just think that I may be in a slightly different alternative where I use the gearing effect to my advantage I use bulton relative to my gains a lot of other golfers will not they won't know that particularly to the case I'm a little bit more fine-tuned to the levels of strike where I'm hitting the face and I see and expect different ball fights from those locations I would have loved to have seen this year and I'd love to have seen this but they would have been slated for doing it is if they would have brought out a conventional m3 and m4 and then brought out or at the same time a twist face version but wow that the backlash would have been tremendous and so for me it wouldn't go in the bag I think for the price point it's a if you can you don't need to be adjusted then great you might want to slip into m4 rather than m3 but I cannot stress this enough for these two brands for these two golf clubs for these m3 and m4 you have to test these before you even attempt to think about buying them because there are gonna be golf as it suits but there are gonna be golfers it does not suit thanks for watching guys hopefully enjoyed the video if you did hit that like button let me know in the comments below do you think of the new review style I'd love to hear your thoughts I feel like I've give this a real test find out as much information as I can to share you guys thanks for watching stay tuned lots more to come we'll see you next time that the tale made em for driver review and we'll see you next time thank you all back

tailor-made m4 shall we I've got dry ball data we're gonna test on the course doesn't get more real than this let's do the review or one of there's going to be more of the other driver as well let's see what tailor-made didn't want me to test just to put this out there this review is my opinion I'm gonna share with you my opinion of this club it's a lovely day not a bad hit to kick us off so we've got to start really with the twist vase idea on this club it's game-changing technology it's definitely new we've not seen it before or certainly not branded this way to explain it and we're going to test the game changing us of this technology I'm just gonna take you back home when you start talking rolling barge and I've done videos and rolling barge it doesn't always like everyone's lemon let's show you what I mean and how rolling balls works and then how this take on twists face might help you hit more fairways go that way so let's think about roll and bold so on a driver face it curves this way and it also curves this way if you compare that to an iron face not the cleanest iron face they're flat biggest difference between driver and iron is the center of gravity and an iron is up basically very closely if not on the face where drivers it's pulled back now if you pull the center of gravity off the face what you're gonna get is you're gonna get twists when you hit the ball away from lining up from the center of gravity so if I was to hit with the toe the club's gonna twist this way the ball is going to turn this way on the face which will give it a little bit of draw spin so the idea of rolling bulges they point this part of the face a bit further right than the center so that compensates for that curvature it starts the ball down the right to allow it to gear back to the middle what twist face is saying is they've curved that face half a degree more backing up in the toe and down and back in heel so in the top part of the club here it's curving more to the right and also up to the sky because gear in effect works on both axis so if I hit one out the top of the club the club will twist this way launches the ball higher but with less spin so what happens is they're adding more loft and launch it more in the air because the less spin in theory is going to drag it out of the quicker so by launching it higher again compensating for that miss hit gear effect has been in clubs for years it's your friend it helps you tailor made are playing with the idea or a gear effect to try and get you hit more and more fairways they're playing with it very small amounts but over time if any of that it's going to help you hit more fairways that's only a good thing not something you would give up you see how much I think it helps when we get out there testing hopefully that makes you understand how rollin Bulge and now twist face is working for you to try and help you maybe hit more fairways is the idea decent Drive here I just moved it to the right I was trying to hit a little fade here I stuck it in my normal position on the face and the club's done exactly what I kind of asks of it to do really let's not make a birdie with a twist face so let's put this in perspective with the rollin bulge half a degree difference on that height Oh to that low heel there's a few things that worry me with this first point knowing the tolerances these manufactures can build to and can't build to in mass production if we narrowing it down to half a degree I don't know any student apart from the very elite that I work with where we're talking down to one and two degrees never really haves certainly in delivery and you can see that when it looks down by the ball cuz it looks good down by the ball you don't see a twist 3 top reminds me of SL VR with the carbine back it looks good and the face doesn't look too store it it looks nice with the black face yeah it's as tailor-made you'd expect from them it's a really good looking driver and we'll look at the end or day or in a second obviously we're gonna see my misses on the course here but game-changing half a degree it's a bold bold statement and we all know they're not afraid of them it makes a really good noise off the face and again I picked that where I want to carry there today that's more into the wind and I gave it credit for we're now seeing hammerhead in the slot on the bottom so you've got the two joining ridges I think it's firm around the outside they're telling us it's allowing them to make thinner faces it's friendlier out the bomb everything that hammerhead is all about is trying to increase the ball speeds on the off centre hits that get mixed up with thinking there's it'll be more distance that scent hits but certainly on those off-center it's one of those things every company can do because they can't do anything with the center hit again go and test anything with there to help zeliha good thing I'm not sure I see it or feel it but you'd have to test for a season it's such small differences I'm happy for them to help wherever they can right let's take a look at the indoor data show you what my dry testing had to offer tailor-made M for driver averaging two five four yards in carry that's my carry distance topping out at two six one bottoming down at two three three if we look at the two three three this is an interesting one I catch it height oh and then we also see the miss here which is the blue line very very left so again I wasn't really seeing a massive influence of that twist face in the tow a shots you can see all my strikes our sensors are slightly to--a if we look at the other one that when most left number eight here that's a centered hit face zero phase zero path basically a little bit of tow still going quite a long way left for me there and then if you look at this one I'm carrying it two hundred and fifty yards if we look at the strike you can see again its height oh and then this one going relatively at target but the interesting thing with this one is my path gets slightly out to in on this one with a face half a degree open to that path so face path slightly open to an outdoor empath with a slight toe that's balancing itself out arguably more than any of the twists face ideas that you're seeing so not really seeing evidence pretty much of the twist face Scott wants gonna take shot five away because obviously we've missed face dater on this one you can see my club half is averaging it pretty 0 face to pop averaging it pretty zero one closed almost to a slightly half a degree left dying of attack for up you know my delivery numbers are kind of there or there abouts strike is the thing that's deviating quite a lot on those deliveries to very high two ones and third one in there slightly high to rest quite centered and my miss pretty stray two going slightly left I mean I personally know I think the numbers are really good I think the spin numbers down at two three lowest spin down at one nine high spin at two seven again showing my strike variation I think peak height is good I think the carry distance is good for where I was feeling on that day to speed I have it's averaging two five three but I reckon I could test it on another day and I'd get up to the two six two my you know my high hit I'm getting to five eight two five six two five nine two six one two sixty it's pretty much in the slot where I'd expect and that's to be on each of you I wouldn't expect anything less from a tailor-made driver the drivers for I don't know how long now have performed so well on their launch data it's just the twist face ideas I could I turn there I get it to any I just wasn't seeing it in the indoor test really you see the indoor numbers are good aren't they and that's the thing with tailor-made and it's been consistent over all the last few drivers is that you just don't see a difference in the numbers but that's a good thing because they're always producing pretty damn good on the money numbers you want the driver doing what it's meant to do and they're always on the top side of numbers like it's always getting closer to my 262 and they're subject how my body's performing that was a little fad I know you're watching chip and practice continuous yes please [Music] we got glq sticking this as well which we saw from the prior model helping with sound also they're saving weight everywhere using Carlin in places to try and get it obviously lower and further back for that kind of stability we also get this little Ridge up here I'm not sure if that is there for aerodynamics I kind of did some research but I got bored because I know it wouldn't make any difference to me I'm sure we're making a difference to you and that's relevant really to all the manufactures that tend to do this but again you got the colorway as well it's very BMW esque I actually quite liked the look of it a few people online saying it looks kind of a bit old-fashioned was a tee styling maybe even a little bit full ragnarok styling for those Marvel fans out there very good-looking drivers right into the witness I was going to be playing tough good it likely hit back so we interesting to see where that ends up in reference the geo coos thick whatever it's doing I do really like the sound of this driver it sounds good off the face I love the way it sits down by the ball let's have a bit of a fan of the colorway I was alive in the 80s it was a special time quite interesting I drew it to Giants because I had to capture the slow-mo that you might see in this video and because I'm filming on my own look how close they are together bit of a testament I mean I felt like I hit them the same consistent performing club really 180 out there again a window yep for a nice decent approach so as you can see I'm making pars I'm hitting the ball how you see me hit the ball a lot a lot Oh chop a video sound custom shop tell you a name for could I game it absolutely does it perform similar to the other ones absolutely does it feel nice off the face yes is it a good driver yeah and it's not certainly not a bad one I think where we often get unstuck is if you use words like game-changing and when you boil it down it's half a degree I'm not seeing any effect of that to his face at all you could argue it's not a big enough data capture which I would get you might see it over a year but I think if you're going for that bigger data capture you still won't really see it because it's such incremental amounts can they build to that tolerance ask them I don't know they won't let me know you ask them I'd like you to go and try it post comments down below let me know what you think of it is it could be you could gain or not is it a game changer post comments down below as always do you like the look of it or not let me know I do quite like the look at that you know it's a good club form as well numbers are solid like they have been from TaylorMade for the last corn lots of years now were there releases what do you think go test it let me know I'd love to hear just to put this out there this review is my opinion I'm going to share with you my opinion of this club you

[Music] g'day guys Alex it is from golf box in your watch in the TaylorMade m4 driver review [Music] you don't I like more than anything about this whole entire range the marketing doesn't seem to be around bashing it 5,000 miles instead it's about keeping it on the planet somewhere around there would be fantastic instead of hitting into a location where the only thing you can actually do is film season seven of last so the whole driver behind the ball absolutely reeks forgiveness like the whole thing just it just yes it's much deeper than the m3 and it just was bigger even though it's still only four hundred and 60 cc's that can be this way this way this way this way and it definitely feels like it's for 60 CCS more this way okay so I'm going to go straight into hit one I'm going to talk about the technology throughout the review so the green like the m3 review if you haven't seen that I suggest strongly that you do before this one because I did go into a lot of detail about the technology but again the green is 300 meters away so it's all about hashtag straight distance that was out the heel and it's hardly moved it could be short but that was literally here and that's not bad is it 300 meter part for you take that little chip in so like the m3 we've got this twist face technology it's exactly what my face did when I first heard about it what is this rubbish anyway but don't judge a book by it's cover I did learn that lesson so don't judge a driver by its driver face there's a lesson for you definitely true in this even though that it's twist face you can hardly tell from address which is a big big deal if it was going to be like now anyway so the twist face toe is pointing this back push backwards so it's now pointing high and right heel is pull back that's now low and left thing the the thing is here this is helping prevent that horrendous shots like the snap hook or hi slices so usually closed clubface is common for the height Oh miss hit so that's that height oh there is now pointing right we're going to come in at this angle but the balls going to go it more straight to angle it's exactly the same for the low heel common with the open clubface it's going to come out straighter cost now the club face is pointing more go down the line with an open Club face genius I may need some twist face assistance here come on come on oh another one I'd take whether I'd get up and down or not is a different story Sam's it feels so much softer definitely more acoustic and that's all down to the deokhu stick technology positioned or directly at the back of the club face feels feels and sounds amazing it really does so loud hold that position and it's long enough left of the pin off the paper just easy I'm not going after these is just easy you know lovely lovely steady smooth swings I'll just realize that's two out of three green under regulations and I'll tell you that I don't know what I'll end up with probably pars or bogeys but it's good off the tee good work from the m4 so hammerhead technology so this is making the face 20% thinner seven grams lighter and basically the whole cor package this is added in the speed this is you know the muscle like I mentioned in the m3 review the twist face is trying to keep you on the planet where the hammerhead is the brute force behind the ball and they use the hammerhead to its full potential and give it an absolute wallop give it a bit more speed what was that I thought the head came off it was the tea oh okay still hit the Greens yeah that scared the living daylights out of me so results it was a quick review I did say it's more of a preview than really a proper review I'm gonna have a bit more time with this this year I'm looking to do about three or four reviews per driver on course some fun stick with us and make sure you subscribe the big thing here thrown a spanner in the works again it's down the middle of the fairway all the matters for me at the moment results club it's beach pull it down but I am getting rather tired I've done a lot of reviews today back spins high for me and down to the shaft it was just a stock stiff and also it was a ten and a half head but overall the feel I think I prefer the feel of the m4 over the m3 but maybe the performance for the for the m3 is better for myself thank you as always for watching guys if you need any more help give us a call on one 865 two two double one comment below say hello if you liked the review if you don't it was a quick one I'm sorry and make sure you subscribe and thank you very much for watching
Tested by an Average Golfer

okay good morning welcome back to civil TV and thanks for joining the average golfer I've got the tailor-made backdrop behind me and that means that I'm going to be looking at their range no clues there we're going to go straight into I missed this one out a week or so ago when it first arrived this is the m4 driver hit the m3 tested that and I was really looking so this is all about twists face technology everybody's heard about it some people buy into it some people don't buy into it people one obviously like myself I'd like to see fact if I could see in there I'd like to feed I'd like to see in the shots of the hit is twists face technology gonna help me with my off-center strikes a very brief explanation of twists face and I think everybody sort of heard about it by now but I'll go through it one more time the face effectively is uneven what Taylor made a suggestiveness that from robotic testing a ball a right to left a higher shot will hit a right to left curve just start straight and go off further to the left hand side that's certainly a shot that I'm familiar with and a low heel strike well again start Center and balloon off from a left to right shape so in human hands the testing that Taylor Made have done they're suggesting they're going to try something a little bit different and what that means effectively is on the face of the of the twist face technology what they're going to do and I'll bring this up close to the camera in this high toe area they're going to open the club face up a little bit but vice versa in this low heel they're going to close it a little bit and the idea is simply to counteract the suppose both of those effects in terms of the shots that you would we hit a lot of in terms of average golfers so that's interested so the center of the effectively the center has not changed it's the off-center hit that they're trying to accommodate and allow for like I said those bad shots now let's see if that rings true in the hands of the average golfer we'll talk about the aesthetics first be hanging the ball when a move camera then I'll hit some golf balls and then we'll sit down and do a bit of a summary ok so just talk him visually first of all about the m4 change from previous models in terms of 2016 2017 the silver stripe has replaced the wider white stripe and this carbon imprints across the back end of the club remains intact we've again you've probably heard about these colorings that are very similar to the BMW M series design it's certainly apparent on the crown here as well what I'm going to do and it's going to bring in now the the m2 and there are slightly different shapes the m2 from this is the m2 from last year it's a slightly it seems shallower right across from front to back the m4 definitely sort of sits up prouder in terms of the the face and again it seems less shallow at the back end it seems to be stretched out very much flatter on the end to both thumb of work done when they did it last year in the m2 and again they further enhanced that in this year's and before they've worked on the acoustics of this club one of the criticisms has always been when you're replacing when you're putting the CG as far back as you do in these clubs it tends to as it have a negative impact on acoustics and that's what they've worked on in trying to enhance the sound which ultimately resonates in feel once again and I'll just come down to these you can see some slight indentations in and around the head of the m4 which are again designed to improve aerodynamics it's very very minor detail and like I said visually I think from the top side there's not huge differences me personally I like the more compact looking at least even though the head size will be the same I like the more compact look of the m4 but that's very much just about personal preferences ok so underneath the club there are quite a few changes and obviously they've moved things around quite a bit in this m4 from the previous m2 model one of the things you'll notice straight away is this an introduction of hammerhead technology now I don't know what tailor-made air saying in in terms of marks in blurb but it'll be something along the lines of the fact that it'll make the ball go incredibly longer straighter and more forgiving but it's effectively a bit of a slot that's in just behind the face on this on this new m4 driver I think in most instances like I said the proof is in the pudding with these things and forget the marketing blur right now let's move the camera let's give some golf balls or whack and see if we can see any effects of twists face technology but more importantly just how good is this club in performance irrelevance of whether or not we can see twists face technology how good can I give this thing a whack now I'm interested this morning because I've just done a couple of head to heads with the with ping product and I want to say this I'm it in the ball quite well of them in it so well that's why I decided to carry on with the same form quite a few more this morning same swing same day and I'll give me a nice understanding of between drivers how they're all sitting at the moment so fingers crossed let's see if this day of good a thing can continue just a little bit longer [Music] okay back in the office balls hit at for golf chester the small in and about dating honestly UK nowhere near as what i was doing on course testing on friday for those who you were who watch me test out at he was the m3 and m4 fairways and i use the m4 a couple of weeks ago i lost a bit of data in terms of from the launch day so I released the driver for the m3 but didn't get that m4 driver out there unfortunate of this review so I'm a little bit late but really glad I came back to it couldn't spin it's been sat in the office I kept looking at ride it on the day and I was impressed with it it shows how I managed to perform with it and it's great to to give it a bash again this morning I think one point to mention before I go too much further I was hitting the ball pretty damn good this morning as I mentioned in the intro and it did continue into these numbers which I'll throw up in a minute but it's worth bearing in mind that I don't think I can put club on ball any better than I did do to be honest if it was quite good and quite impressive only if I Taylor hunts for a golf course but I'll tell you and I'll show you the reason and why maybe it's just down to twist face who knows but I'll throw up the the numbers and know it's not down to twist face because I get several drivers the day and I was in it well so anyway here we go is a numbers let's get stuck into these first of all now unfortunately on three of these has not recorded me call bed speed I think that's probably due to the fact that was just swinging it to done first so we've also been lots of data there but anyway at 96 and all morning I swung the club and the club head speed was the same on a few drivers in and around the sort of 96 97 mile an hour a couple of mile an hour faster I was swinging it the week before like I said it's different days different different me but looser this morning maybe but it's the boss speed its mega impressive off these clubs I mentioned it just now on the m3 and m4 fairways when we should have questioned the technology I think seeing things like this and improvements in ball speeds in relation to club head speed is it clear indicator that something's going in the right direction it's often criticized how much that leap is and yeah that's questionable but I think that there's noticeable things in here when you're looking at how do you measure performance well things like this tell a tale and like I said I'm not selling product it makes no difference to me whether you buy them or not to be quite frank so I'm just relaying information but anyway yeah 148 as much as 150 ball speed on shot five and it's the spin number again second numbering incredibly low spinning and still 14.4 in terms of launch or a fairly high launch angle book still making a very very low spinning which is incredible for this again type of club look the carry distances is seriously as good as I have it anything on camera longest carry being 250 where they roll out of a suggested are 280 yards but what was it on average 247 I like I said first of all I can't put club on ball any better than that the numbers of a stacked up I was in the ball well I felt god I felt like I was gonna waste anything this morning ball what's got to be said is that like have without repeating myself you've got to look at these numbers and be impressed I still can't measure twist face technology and I am going to make an attempt to do that in future videos with m3 and m4 and gonna look at whether or not we can I mean I've got an idea of how we can sort of measure it and that's what I'll do in future but for this video it's just bare knuckle performance what was this thing done in my hands this morning irrelevance of weather twist faces working on ER then numbers are mightily impressive I've got no problem with them whatsoever I did the m3 Drive a few weeks ago on the m3 was again down to performance as well which I was ok on the day I wasn't whereas hitting the balls well as I did this morning but I just didn't quite get on with the m3 even again I've tried the m3 a few hits this morning and I achieved better numbers than the other weak ball having said that for me it wasn't as good and I still it's a bit like I bought the m2 from 2016 or 2015 and don't know what year it was for the first batch that came out and I've always liked the end - more than the m1 somehow and I've got a feed and the homeowner prefer a but not I've got a feeling but people will prefer the m4 to the m3 because I certainly found it a much friendlier Club for me personally literally the setup was superb the numbers there that I achieved I don't need any adjustability in that club whatsoever that is absolutely bang-on in terms of numbers and just again as I mentioned earlier on me on the fairway woods one thing that's been worked on significantly and again we can all criticize it as being a marketing ploy but the acoustics of these clubs now for some people again it might be a big deal you don't care you know you know gunshot go off and it makes no difference from wasyou club it's all about where it finishes up but in terms of acoustics it's a lot softer it's a feel which is come from sound and I think it's improved dramatically compared so like I said if I've been using the m2 had been using the m2 for a couple years so that's something that again is improved on massively it was just and again for what were repeating myself I've said it on a lot golf clubs at the moment it's hard to separate them because they're all very very good performance but seriously I couldn't be critical of anything right now it is and I was gonna say that disappoints me it doesn't disappoint me but like us keep saying I know I'm being positive and I'm conscious of that and I'm also where you've been over positive about closed-book you've seen their numbers you've seen it it's hard to be critical it really is all I would say is it's the same old tale there was good in my hands get out there and try it yourself only buy these things if you're in the market for a new driver then by all means stick the m4 on the list because it certainly wants to be considered anyway as that's my take on it all and I hope you enjoyed the video if you did give it a thumbs up and a like subscribe if you don't already and I'll see you very very soon on to your pro team
