right guys right custody in my hands today we've got the Callaway rogue hybrid this one's got jailbreaking up a bit so we're gonna play a few holes see how it goes got some dry ball dater as well rogue hybrid kind of familiar height oh look do we like it yes or no well let's try and see shall we let's get stuck in [Music] it's a 19 degree loft that I've got the try good strike there came off the face nice didn't go to highs I was expecting kind of went nice and forward it felt quite nice so the rogue hybrid we see jailbreaks of what we've seen in epic driver now road drivers to bars joining top to bottom again China stabilized bull speeds across the face firming up the top and the bottom of the club to get kind of even spring if you like off low and high hits as much as possible I guess left and right which is what they're trying to do you know and it's advertisers increasing kind of distance and those kind of things but really their meaning distance across all of the face Center strikes I mean you know what wants their hybrid going further you need your hybrid mix it into the loft into the gap of yourself but if you can get a decent kind of distance consistency of short long misses when you start dotting around the middle like all good players and golfers do then if they're helping that's a good thing go and test them that's what you need to do always of this hard for me to really see a massive distance but I'm happy they're there I guess on 22 into a very cold wind where you're at so you get a chip and a tie and keep it down come on now in this short code is just a little firm [Music] hi puffin face Calloway are saying again relating it to distance also hyperspeed cut face as well it's all about trying to keep distance consistent across the face I often think it's marketed distance people then have a bit of a tendency to go to custom fit suggests it these clubs as art as possible really they're trying to make sure you get consistent distance because you're gonna bring inconsistent hits so the more they can keep those hits consistent in ball speed suits and their internal keep you consistent distances you won't be flying greens or coming up short greens that's where I would try and see that word as much as possible moving forwards right let's go into the wind measuring 180 186 yards it's got to be playing 200 easily this is about 200 to 220 art club with a bit of bounce to me I'm gonna hit it cold wind I think it's the club be good don't know if it's long as hybrids go it's a lot of club down by the ball with the height oh you do feel like you've got a lot of face to hit from which I think for the kind of players this is aimed at she's only gonna be a good thing it's kind of the friendlier the better in this arena for lots of people and having a lot of face down there with a club which you've got loft and often can push the ball up in the air wave is great for confidence I'm not a fan of the way it looks for my eye but I have a distinct look I know I want I feel for most people probably watching this video if I put it down in front of the ball for them and said like you know what you think it looks like they would love the fact that there is a lot of real estate for them to feel like they can make a contact on a club which to be honest review 200 yards 180 170 whatever you're hitting this it's a gap where so many golfers can make so many gains yet they choose to focus so much on drivers tough this game it's really tough you spend all your time working in the wrong area before we look at my distance control with this one just get up to the green I can't quite see it yeah here's the dry ball data I collected with Dan back at Tokyo club so averaging 208 what was interesting I did get some pretty tough hits though 196 and 200 topping out carrying it what's this - 15 which is about right for my nineteen degree spinning at 3/4 launching at thirteen degrees very good really reliable numbers my strike not as reliable let's get back out on the course to see if I can hit green yes please again the flight was kind of forward and what I mean by that is obviously I don't eat many golf shots backwards but the flight was kind of this is into the wind I don't want a hybrid ballooning up and it didn't you can see by in a dry ball day there it's kind of where I need this hybrid to sit it's gonna be a lot on shape and feel and brand kind of Alliance I'm not a fan of the shape I think lots of people will be you go and test but at the moment I like the way it's performing [Music] we're 200 yards out it's a narrow agree with upturned so I need direction but I'm going to struggle to reach because we're still into that same wind so I'm going to hit two shots and I'm going to hit them both as hard as I can and this is where that big Club face or that tech we've talked about in theory should be helping me because it's harder I hit this so the more aggressive I swing it the more
chance I'm gonna miss the CD the sweet spot I'm not sure I can even get this there in this wind I am gonna jump off it's kind of slightly low on the face so it's risen up is that reaching well get up and seem hit it kind of fought them slightly Haley did okay went a bit higher than the other ones which I've hit and they'll be more up the faces giving it a different spin flight and hearing that one equally as hard first one is promising that it might have reached [Music] second one ripped went for a little draw couldn't quite see it down let's get up and see shall we where they finished so first one it's just here you can see the pin long part to caught it slightly on the bottom happy it go on I as expected an out the cats drop off so you can argue that stuff quite well out at the bottom of the class second one to rip right at it so it actually has gone quite close and you can see it there just at the back of the green I think the interesting point for me there is from the struck one to the ripped one we're talking about twenty fifteen yards people often want to talk so much about six yards and three yards games this is why I try to do this on the course to show you if I can actually make pars of these clubs which I think you're kind of seeing I can and to try and get you to test with numbers but to try and think about gaming situations always you need to know how this club feels when you do catch out at the bottom you don't want that delete from the test you want to know how that one did and then in turn you want to know how it does when you catch up the facing you rip it and you get that low spin knuckleball e-flite you want to know the difference between those two shots and is that a good thing or bad thing it's what you need to decide footnote forgot to mention there's little ribs on the top I just want my hybrid to go to distance it needs to go I mean that I think they're just in line with the other clubs really performance wise would I use the rogue absolutely you can see I can hit target with it I mean I'm a hybrid fan and player I want more people thinking about this part of their bags I wish the companies would market this bit more aggressive than just drive a hunt that you all get stuck in but I don't think I'll ever win that war when I game it on looks it's not for me I not a massive fan of the high toes will I give this the students who want as much help as possible and I'm not that kind of confident in this range absolutely because it's the amount of club that's down by the ball I think we'll just inspire people is jailbreak a massive breakthrough in hybrids I'm sure it is for their engineers for me I'm not fuss but I'm sure it's helping me as well possibly again I can't measure it so you go and test and tell me posting those comments down below can you feel the difference between one with jailbreak and not I think it's a good hybrid to go and test for anyone who really wants as much face close to an old-fashioned five would almost you know the mean but longer it's not a little dinky hybrid it does wow it's done well really isn't it I've hit some good shots of it [Music] you
Callaway Rogue X Irons Review

[Music] like I say Smith a down a break girlfriends in Suffolk and I am being spoiled I have the all the Calloway ions I've also done all the drivers so if you've seen them or haven't seen them sorry pop on the channel have a look I might even put an info card or something off the top here now I have the ions do I've done the standard rogue iron if you haven't seen that one pop in the channel have a look and also I've done the rogue Pro pop in the channel have a look this is the last one in the series it's a shame climbing join here these this is the rogue X this is the most interesting iron I think I'm gonna test for a while Caillat are making no apologies at all for this club the whole idea on this one is lighter longer and stronger it's stronger lofted it's a six I'm twenty four degrees that's my five four four Rhine and the shaft link is longer so we're now Scott and starting to get like yeah like five iron lengths for I lost him and it's lighter as well so they're making this club at site ten grams or so lighter than the standard rope so the whole idea is someone can swing it faster with less loft longer shaft head travels faster you can get the idea they want they want the whole set so someone can be hitting an 8-iron where their buddies are being hit in six times right now the problem is when you get a club like this and you just crank it to twenty four degrees and call it six on the bottom it's going to launch low and it's going to react like a four so you've got to put serious amounts of tech in this thing to actually make it look and produce some kind of performance figures and flight of a six I you now what they've done in this 360 cup face has been in their irons for a long while now and Callaway asana has they're doing another model another model they're finding like a more refined more tuned way of doing it and then learning is the going on their field at the moment they've reached the pinnacle of what their 360 Cup face idea can do until the next one possibly but for the moment this is the best now the way they do it is obviously the head when they make it to be able to work on the face they make it two parts the body and the face so they can do the 360 cup face bits and pieces on the face but they can also have the variable face thickness so they can make the face thinner in certain areas so in the middle they have reached the 0.83 coefficient of restitution bounce trampoline effect where you want to call it off the face so hottest iron you can get but we need it off the middle heel-toe they've made the face thinner so when you lose efficiency by moving away from the sweet spot you gain a bit more from the face but now to spring a bit more which would normally be illegal if it was in the middle to allow for a less drop-off of efficiency because how callaway have measured that most people when they miss it miss it lo here or lo toe which is quite a cool idea now because of the 360 cup face and making that face and very very springy it makes ana rendus noise so because people don't want that what they do is they fill it with something because it's a hollow head design the problem with that when you fill it fill anything like urethane or foam or whether it be because it doesn't give allow the face to spring it dampens sound lovely the problem is now the face don't spring so you've got a lovely sounding Club but now it doesn't explode doesn't like fire for face so you can either have a club which fires really well and sounds awful or you can have a club which sounds quite nice but then doesn't as perform as what they want it to do so the guys of Callaway decided what we're going to do is we're gonna put holes as in like air pockets inside the urethane which sell how is the urethane to give okay these guys must get paid millions for doing this research and development in irons are going mental which is well we'll see if it works or not so they see some big the blade length is actually to pay off seen some clubs which are bigger blade links so this is actually not too bad it's got a horrendous amount of offset though it's got a huge amount of offset especially because I've just done the pro watt I'm going to this one it looks wow it looks like that the shaft is here the heads over here massively thick top line it's huge and then the sauce oh wait I got G c2 HMT on the floor got some range balls we're just going to be discussing at the moment how this thing feels because this is gonna be interesting when you hit something this massive and yeah I've got a trimer event let's don't go left don't go left because it amount of offset should be out work it out that's just horrendous not as they horrendously bad that's just Wow one two four ball speed twelve point seven launch range balls remember so range balls will launch lower spin more yeah I've had that discussion quite a few times five nine spin hmm 175 bang on target bang bang bang on target what is it another one I see quite a lot the feel of that that was quite nice explosion oh man that's just it's another one on top of another one one two four thirteen seven launch six one spin once in four bang on it yeah 1.3 again that was on top of the other shot I'd you know what I hate game improvement clubs normally I hate battering rams never been a fan of them I'm liking this this is kind of react I haven't had this reaction the hitting and iron since when I hit the jpx nine hundred hot metals they are a cool little Club right it's hit two ball I love that one too 4:13 3 launch five nine spin one seven six point four right this is just like a target seeking thing this is my favorite iron so far I can't say that can I yeah I have done this is my favorite one so far I actually quite like this shouldn't do really because this is huge but felt nice felt lovely every bit as good as everything else that hit so far the the calorie rogue or the pro see it one more it's kind of fraction wall right get left a bit it's got a fraction wall right one two five ball speed six twelve point seven launched six one spin one seven six four point eight hang on a minute it's not bending over and not look at that data I can't play these can i right I won't know yet cuz I'll go go hit some on GC - hmm t with my game ball vise bro to see how a premium ball works well only thing I'm worried about is spin cuz that I cut yeah that's kind of that's crazy look how accurate ladies I'm loving that let's go hit this with my going ball when I see how it works with a premium ball rather than the range balls okay I now hit low two balls and the rogue X with McCampbell Vice Pro now I was getting a little bit over exuberant should I say with the performance out on the range because it was just funny how one it sounded to be fair it is it is a super super game improvement on it is designed for one thing just firing off a face and it was so accurate that's what I couldn't believe do it when I was actually out on the range hitting it okay real balls it's a long long long way now when it comes to range balls they spin more don't go quite so far and when it comes to a real ball went into spin slightly less launches slightly high versus in a spin slightly less yeah you won't go in a long way but it's also into a little bit of if you're going to be a little bit off line you can't end up going quite a long way off line no different to our driver right I've hit or ten shots or so yeah ten shots and we fare if you look at my ball speed they go from one three four when I absolutely nail it to standard normal 128 I've got two shots in there 123 and 122 when I didn't quite catch it left them in so from as you can see if you leave them in complete yet brings my ball speed down to about 130 if you were to take them out because I miss hits 131 it doesn't really make that much difference whatsoever but if we take them out at the moment you can see what happens when you strike them quite well and you can see what happens when you don't 14 7 launch on average tiny little fade 3 9 4 9 now say 4,000 spin this is my only concern because it's only 4,000 which is not a lot when it okay it's worth bit explaining now if this was a 6-iron going 6-iron distance a normal standard 6-iron distance and it was spinning at 4 I would instantly say look it's no it's not functional you can't hear a 6-iron 16 distance normal traditional 6 and at spin at 4,000 it goes 32 yards in the air and it descends at 43 degrees that's just not however when you put a little number on the end of it saying 201 average carry it's not technically like a 6-iron it's now more like a 4 right so if you're spinning a 4 at 4,000 rpm and then it's going at 32 peak height and descending a 43 which is session not bad for a 4 on and carry a 201 an average 3.5 yards of flying that you can see me there well I don't when I that's just me mean being human my strike differences and face the path differences so if I was to go on Club data there you can see that my club head speed now I actually got one of them my last there I actually peaked a hundred miles now for a sick side I didn't because it's not like a sick sign it's like my 5-iron if not a fraction more length so yeah that's where it's coming from because the shaft is longer there you go but my average there was 98 if if even if you take my ones that I've grayed out because I'm just not counting and they were still 9996 within around it was the strike which done those what was the ones that I missed hit 40 milto 10 mil hi yes 9 mil toe 7 mil hi year so Heights home misses that's what is so slightly heavy shots that's what I'm draining old distance down but on average 98 miles an hour for Mike leveraged speed my path was in two out and with face closed however these quiet aren't fit for me these are clubs which are sent straight through from Callaway so they obviously standard exactly how they're made to be standard and then custom fit so the lying --gel doesn't suit me yeah but you can see the difference there actually this is a great custom fitting thing when I'm hitting shots with the face which is close to a in throughout path it should draw yet the lie is wrong you can see that loft the weather Loftus pointing has quite a big impact on where there the ball ends up going because I'm averaging right slightly where it should actually be averaging left if the live is a right so BIA but you can see that that's up in there on the screen so you can have a look it's mental this club is crazy I have never hit a 6-iron which to be fair has gone up quite well launched quite well compared to other clubs I'm amazed that it can go this distance being actually feeling quite nice quite confidence-inspiring could I play him no reason why is because the I strike it better if we go to the strikes we get all to the strikes there see if I can just get old strikes on there there we go so you can get an idea of all the strikes I'm moving around the club now I have found when I do my trace patterns when I have a smaller Club it focuses my mind on strike a lot better when I have a bigger Club thicker top-line massive soul mass amounts of offset it looks like a battering ram and it gives you the idea of confidence that you could physically hit it anywhere and still get a good amount of distance from here and to be fair you can the problem is the strike alone causes a massive difference when it comes to left and right and front to back so that's why I would always go down and more for me because I have mapped myself you need to go map your own strike patterns etc and then what your tendencies are with different sized clubs etc so you can make an informed choice about what clubs to buy so could I use this no I couldn't is it great to use of course it is he's just is brilliant hitting this out of the range seeing then things fly it so it's it's great and and for a game improvement person who just wants distance these clubs are crazy these are great so I would definitely say if you want distance and you don't want to be apologizing for it you just want to be hitting an 8-iron with you guys hit and six signs go give them a try they are great they feel good to be fair they're great performing clubs considering if you look at my strike there I've struck them all over the pond say all over the face but my see my pattern goes between sort of middle and then wonders that way up the toe or that way as you see on camera but it does and I'm going from 186 when I don't quite catch it to 205 now considering I've hit that much difference on the face that's a very very well performing Club so anyway I hope you liked the video if you did click that like button below comment below with whatever you would like me to do when it comes to other comparisons how you like me to do the videos or anything you'd like down by the side we're over here there's a little subscribe button if you could click that that allows me to continue doing more of this kind of content yeah so you guys can see when you want to go buy something how well does it perform we'll catch you again see
Callaway Rogue X Iron Review
Video Transcription
I will privilege might need him down here at live them golf academy and I've got a bit of a beast to review for here today in the way of the Callaway rogue and it's the X version in the ions here so when I say the word beast wait for this the loft of this seminar is 27 degrees okay so many of you will start commenting right now at this point underneath this video so obviously very very strong strong lofted should I say now we've seen some strong lofted or one Springs my until made and for 28 and a half degrees strong this is one and a half degrees strongest so obviously this is from what Callaway say it's a little bit of a not a punch but a little bit of an experiment really and they're not expecting to sell loads of this but just want to drip in there basically for the guy who just wants to get it out there as far as it can now I knows a lot of talk around these strong loss and it's the cheats it's not 7-iron it's a 5-iron but in today's golfers out there who just want to hit the ball further it makes them feel better so why not you know why not let them feel a bit better about themselves and so I'm going to put still a little bit of a test here now obviously a lot of Technology in the iron here we've got the cup 360 iron which was seen in the normal road we've seen that in the past another all the models that Callaway have done so again this is all about ball speed across the clubface it's a lot of tungsten in this club here now so a lot of tungsten this bottom section at the back sort of tungsten twice as heavier steel so they can really concentrate where they put that way and what Callaway say is a very precise CG location in every single iron in the set okay we've also got urethane micros micro Spears they call it which is all about acoustic so obviously dumped enough sound and trying to make the sound sort of more appealing because generally what we found with your game improvement irons as they push the boundaries on the face and the CG location and sometimes it brings off a high soft sound or a very loud sound off the court fate of the ball striking so maybe the your fa micro Spears is help and damping that sounds give a bit more of a normal sort sounding golf okay so we're gonna give this one a hit we're going to test it with GC to HMT sets up here so we're gonna get some numbers as always give you some feedback of a ball flag spin distance numbers a little bit dispersion maybe you give you a guy's an idea of how the rogue Xin performs right so let's some shots here so I've got this set up here half inch longer in the shaft which is more my spec now fortunate the right Langille to suit me on two percent is this is a standard lie I'm generally two degrees up right so it's not quite dialed in for me in terms of Langille so I may just have to take that and possibly a little bit shot direction here but firstly pressures here is put that down by the ball it's big it's chunky massive thick top edge there quite a lot of offset as you probably expect for this type of I so really this is all about just trying to get that ball up for now there and as far you know as quick off the face as possible and you know see picking up distance for the guys who probably need this so with anticipation set myself for per 185 yards out from the green here obviously 7-iron but he's lost at at 27 degrees I've not actually hit this iron yet so I don't know exactly what its gonna do I'm expecting it's gonna go a long way but we'll soon see so I'll get this first one hit here okay I felt pretty good okay I felt straightway felt better than what I thought that would feel like and it wasn't loud at all that was just a nice sort of sounding golf what I felt really sort of nice looking pretty good hit the green quite nicely there that's a nice strike nice neutral ball flight there again that's hitting the green quite nicely stop him pretty quick there I mean that's carried it wanna heat sixes big carry their ball speed 131 that's spinning just over 6000 spin now that surprises me because again we always sort of associate these strong loss with very very low spin numbers and but that's sort of spinning very differently it's impossible that CG location there's played a part keeping that spin up there but that's quite a bit control is quite a nice high ball flight for me there and it's going a long long way numbers okay that wasn't as good up just push that stroke it okay yeah miss the green right there and I think this is where the lie isn't helping me out because this is a standard lie that would hit morto a chance down to the right to the green okay right okay so there we go there's the Callaway rogue Xin reviewed there quite an impressive iron else it's a very long hitting high ball and I think with that stronger loft of 27 degrees there we're still seeing a high ball flight we've still seen a good launch angle and the spindle boom did surprise me quite a bit as expect that to be a lot lower on that spin number but it's really quite a nice spin over there so again
it goes and beg see the difference of questions you just say how the position this way you know 27 degrees which is so well 5-iron here why is it launched like a fire and why does it launch like a seven nine probably because a little bit that weight and I've done another video just chatting about that and a little bit more depth there and but you know for me good eye in there really good iron I mean it's a different look it's big it's chunky big top edge very you know there's a lot to look at there as you're pretty down by the golf balls so it's not everybody's taste in terms a locks book performance-wise the guys have said bit earlier you just want to get the ball out there a little bit further rogue X is a good option okay guys thanks very much for watching hopefully you enjoy the video do you appreciate watching it comment down below I'm sure you will do with that loft number there of 27 degrees and you know let me know your thoughts I'll follow them on social media platforms all the links in the description down below hit that subscribe button if you can but it was appreciated and hopefully I'll catch all you all very soon
An HONEST Opinion (2019)

in this video I'm gonna be reviewing the Callaway rogue hybrid and talking about whether or not it's worth picking up so what we covering in this video are my first impressions of the club how it actually performed how is the feel and sound to it some pros and cons and also the best place to buy it so if you just are looking for the best and cheapest place to pick it up I will leave a link down below at the time of the video that was the best place we can find us you can go ahead and check out the price if you want but let's start with the design of the club itself and the standard rogue has more of a mid sized head to it it's slightly longer than the epic and it's pretty similar to the steel head XR in my opinion I really like the way the club looked and it was also more of a compact size which I was definitely a fan of I'm not really a fan of the bigger looking hybrids you know they're pretty similar to like fairy or woods almost and that's pretty much made to increase forgiveness that kind of thing but I prefer a hybrid that has more like you know workability more versatility and that's kind of where the mid or smaller size more compact head comes into play and this was definitely that I was definitely a fan of it the rogue X model is slightly bigger as well and that was pretty much designed for players who want straight like distance and forgiveness over versatility and workability but I myself preferred just the normal rogue output a lot of people will prefer the X if you don't learn looking for distance and forgiveness but how was the sound and feel to it no I'm not the biggest fan of some of the super light and almost hollow sounding golf clubs on the market these days I've always kind of liked the way Callaway clubs have felt and sounded and the road was just the same you know there was nothing new with that it was just like any other Callaway and I was definitely pleased with the sound and feel to it it almost sounded like a pharaoh wood to me which I liked a lot but one thing I did notice was that the feel and also like the feedback wasn't as good as some of the others out there I'm not saying it's bad bad or anything but there were definitely models out there that had it more like feedback and feel to them which is kind of important to some people you know not a huge deal but definitely something to improve going into the future how did perform because that's the kind of main thing that really matters but in my experience the most forgiving hybrid has always been like the Callaway XR almost what I had before I definitely really liked it but I did find the rope to be pretty similar to that not only did it have a great amount of forgiveness but it was also one of the longer hybrids for me I'm not saying it's so long as hybrids out there but for me and my swing it was definitely the longer definitely longer hybrid and of all the ones we've tried and we've tried out quite a few so I really like the consistency of the rogue and in my opinion would probably be best for like mid to high handicaps if you prefer like straight distance and forgiveness there's the rogue X for that but I prefer the smaller standard rogue like I was saying before let's talk about some pros and cons so pros it's available with a wide range of lofts you know there's like you know you know 19 21 24 I believe maybe a few ones in between there but there's a wide range of laaser kind of whatever you want to use it for almost one of the longer and more forgiving hybrids and a nice sound to it cons there aren't any adjustments on it so it is a fixed hosel you know there's no weights or anything like that so you can't really adjust it which is probably good for like mid to high handicaps but a lot of lower handicap prefer middle customization on their clubs and this probably would be the best option for that it is a bit pricey you know it's obviously not too bad there are ones out there that are more expensive but it definitely is a high-end hybrid with a high end price to it and it didn't offer the most feedback on it so you know if you are to hit it you know off center or like a miss hit it wasn't always the easiest to kind of like you know I understand that and feel that right away so it's definitely one thing I noticed but frequently ask questions to it so should I go with the rogue or rogue X if you need a lot of forgiveness go with the rogue a click if you are like you know a high handicap with a lot of forgiveness you don't always hit the ball pure probably the rogue X but you know if you are like a you know mid handicap and you don't really struggle with you don't consist in that kind of thing I myself just prefer the rogue what's the main purpose of these clubs so the first use that I have for them is it I can hit them more consistently than my long irons and then secondly they work a lot other than once for getting out of bad lies and here come the two main purposes that I personally use a hybrid for the breakdown performance called give it a 10 price call get a 7 sound and feel 9 my personal score is an 8 point 5 which is definitely really solid is it worth it you know take into account all that you know all the pros all the cons I would say if you're looking for a midsize hybrid that offers a lot of forgiveness and distance this could be the perfect option for you it's a great club to have for someone who doesn't always hit their long irons pure like myself and if you aren't interested in you know picking it up the cheapest place I could find it is in the
