hey how you doing here we have to swing speed radars from sports are just incorporated what they are is the pretty low cost swing speed radars for baseball or golf swings I'll be doing it for golf the one on the left is your plain regular radar on the right it's a tempo timer so you have like a clicking sound or a beeping noise or a metronome that helps you get your swing tempo down cap right here brand-new right here used six degree double ugh shaft just a basic long drive shaft nothing special nothing too fancy up on eBay video so much right out no one is the regular the tempo timer taken to the range today and we'll see how accurate they are compared to a ball speed blender we're not gonna know the exact conversion obviously but no good idea and then also on the compare against each other to see if they see if they line up so the first thing we're gonna do is set up the blue the blue test right here the blue swing speed what you supposed to do is just turn out in like that pressing that button there it's pretty easy that's my last swing it was 140 hit it pretty good we want it to be at like a 45 degree angle otherwise it'll measure the wrong part of your swing and it'll like give you your swing speed you know right here as opposed to impact so let's see I'll show you a swing in slow motion how it works and then um we'll we'll see so as you can see you know I've got to swing right away it wasn't a very good one on 132 as you can see the you know the results or the the reading is almost instantaneous this is the this is the threats when she monitor as you can see it's off the tempo mode so it's gonna record the I assume in milliseconds the length of my swing and I made a few balls this time and we're gonna see if I can maintain the same swing tempo I'm clocking in at about um 0.8 12.5 right now so we'll see if I can keep it in that range what what so a little bit faster than I was practicing yet but I guess because I was just loosened up now and I was warned everything misty no picking balls let me put them down pick them up put them down so um but yeah all those swings worked in the same swing speed same as playing tempo so that's that's a good thing
Ignition Golf Tips
hi I'm Paul Wilson I'm the creator of swing machine golf and the founder of ignition golf comm today I wanted to talk to you about this portable launch monitor it's called a swing speed radar unit now I use this unit in a lot of my golf tips I get a lot of people asking me what it is and where they can get one so I just thought I'd talk a little bit about it if it's something that interests you there'll be a link right below this video and you can grab one of these ok so swing speed radar how does it work well it's battery operated you can just very simply put it in your golf bag you bring it out to the range with you and if we look at it here what the way it works this particular one the red one does swing speed and tempo and there's a little marker there that tells you which one it's on it does miles per hour and kilometers per hour and very simply you press this red button right here that turns it on you can see the display right here and then to cycle through it you just keep pressing the button until you see the mark move over either tempo or swing speed so right here it's on both if I press it again like this now it's set on swing speed ok so to use it there's a little stand on the back like this it just opens up now you bring it down and put it about eight inches or so from your ball on a 45 degree angle ok now you just hit a shot and what I like about it here after you hit your shot the display is big enough that you know I can see it right here as I'm looking so I don't have to you know go to a computer or that sort of thing I'm just looking at the readout right there now I've spoken to the owner of the company and he said it's Doppler radar and it's accurate within one mile per hour so you know I've used it for a long time and I feel it's it's actually pretty accurate you know so I'm going to hit a couple here and we'll see what kind of readout we can get on it and then you'll see how it works okay so there's a hundred and thirteen miles an hour which seems about right you know I'm anywhere in that l1 113 112 up to about 116 so you know just depends how how well I'm doing that day or how fast I'm or how hard I'm moving my lower body so we'll get one more for you so you can see it okay 113 again so you can see it's pretty accurate and I just think really think it's a great great training aid so what I want you to do if you do decide to get one of these things is be very careful you know somebody gets a device that measures swing speed and all they want to do is just start hammering golf balls as hard as they can that's not what this device is for this is to chart your progress or to see how you're doing and use it over time okay if you know anything about my teaching technique you know that I want your wrists nice and loose throughout your golf swing because the looser your wrists or looser something is the faster it's going to swing plus I want you to be hitting the golf ball by rotating your body turn your body faster you're going to get more club head speed so you use this device to measure your swing speed initially and then over time keep bringing it out and keep hitting some shots and see if you're increasing your club head speed or not it's not about whaling away at it trying to make this thing go up as high as it can okay the harder you hit the tighter you get the slower you're going to go on this thing okay so use it wisely but it definitely is a great device and I highly recommend it okay again if you want to get one of these things just take a look at that link below and you'll be taken to the site where you can buy one okay you you
