Bushnell Tour V4 JOLT Golf Laser Rangefinder Reviews
Even if it's small, the Bushnell Tour V4 JOLT Golf Laser Rangefinder still works precisely.
It may be small, but it performs like a beast.
hello John Simon here from golf monthly and welcome to it very breezy wits have more students here in Lisbon Portugal where today I've been testing the new Bushnell tour v4 rangefinder now this comes in two different versions we've got the standard and the sloped version here now in the past golfers may have been deterred by slope lasers because they weren't legal for competition use but changing the rule 14-3 regarding artificial devices means that you can now have a slope laser and disable the function and use it in competitions which means it's great you can use it in practice rounds and then you haven't got to change to a different device for your competitive round so hopefully that encouraged you to upgrade to a slope laser obviously gives you great accuracy for for a hilly courses there's also a lot of other interesting and beneficial features in this new laser we've got four hundred yards range for the jolt function which are caused by brakes when it picks a target out from the background which is very useful to have very reassuring to know that you've got the right distance it's 30% smaller which means it's a lot lighter as well there's this fast focus technology which means you're going to get your distances quicker when you hit the button so I've been testing it here out on the course I always have our students first thing you notice it is very compact it fits perfectly in your hand it is lighter we don't really lose out on stability because you've got these kind of ergonomic grip shaped patterns here and it's very grippy it's got kind of a rough texture to it which means known as it fit perfectly in your hands it's also very stable even in the wind today and I was getting the yardages didn't feel like my hand was wobbling could still focus on the flag and keep it nice and stable one thing that really pressures me about this Bushnell tour v4 is getting that jolt vibrating bursts on long distances so if you're hearing in spar fives you know you've got over 250 yards away you're still getting that reassuring burst in fact I didn't even try it on the tee of a par 4 earlier which is 390 yards to the flag and even managed to pinpoint the flag from that distance so that's a reassuring feature that no other brand offers in the laser rangefinder Catterick and I think a lot of golfers are going to find that very useful you can change the focus of it using the finger it's quite stiff it takes a little bit of getting used to actually when you change your focus but that means that you can control it a little bit easier the fact that it's more stiff you're not going to go too far when and then have to slide back and so is a very quick system to use when you're adjusting the focus but actually from the testing I go down at the course you don't really need to change the focus all that much on the whole is an absolute joy to use the distances came up really quickly the job function like I mentioned before is a godsend to golfers who you know who aren't sure if they've picked out the flag from the background you get that a confidence boost from that vibrating burst that you get for me the focus toggle is a little too stiff I think they could have loosened that slightly it is generally pretty easy to use with one finger so you've got the button on the top which you also use to change the different functions so you can change from yards to meters you can also change this from the slope to the normal laser so you know if you're looking for new laser brush noir the leaders in laser rangefinder technology you know they really have pushed the envelope with this new laser there's nothing really to dislike about it it fits perfectly in your hand it's absolute joy to use and they do say is pocket-sized there's no doubt you can fit in your pocket whether you want to store it there as you play that's another matter they're really cutting edge technology from Bushnell slope edition which I've got here retails over at 315 pounds the non slope Edition is two six nine pounds and it's available from the start of June so if you in the market for a new laser rangefinder really recommend you give this bristol torvi four laser rangefinder a go
Bushnell Tour V4 Review
pji teaching professional Todd Kolb but today I'm taking a look at the tour v4 slope Edition range finder by Bushnell golf well when it comes to range finders I don't think I need to sell you on Bushnell if you've played any golf you've watched any golf on TV you are well aware that they dominate the market and there's a reason for that it's because they're the best hands down they are the best and if you look at any of the major tours around the world and you look in the caddies bag or a player's bag 99% of the time you're going to see a Bushnell product so they are simply the best on the market so what I want to talk about today though a little bit is some of the unique features with this particular product so we're like taking a look at the Tour V for of course slope edition so what does that mean well the slope Edition actually calculates the degree of elevation change up or down and then gives you the distance that the shot is actually playing so if the shot is slightly uphill I'm just going to calculate that so if the yardage just maybe 145 but it's uphill slightly you might be playing 148 so it calculates the elevation change up or down and then gives you the actual distance that the shot is flying and that can be very important because the truth of the matter this is most shots in golf are not flat level shots they're slightly uphill or slightly downhill so it's a great feature at that and you can use that in practice rounds of course for any tournament some tournaments you can actually use them during the event and some of course don't allow you to use the slope addition so you have to actually turn that off which is easy to do within the unit so you want to make sure you check it out before you use it a tournament are you allowed to use the slope feature or not of course it's got the jolt technology they came out with that a few years ago wonderful concept because I know what I'm definitely locked into the target I get a little jolt I know that the accuracy is locked in there I'm going to get the distance that I'm that I'm looking for of course the design of it's one of the things I love about Bushnell's I think it was custom-made for my hand I mean it literally fits in the palm of your hand just like you would want it to it's got a little bit of grip design on the top from the bottom it's water resistance it's very durable and it's going to last the wear and tear that you might see on the golf course last but not least of course I like it always comes with a nice carrying case clips on the side of your bag I like this little elastic clip on the on the top right here so I don't have to zip it and unzip it each time I want to use it but it's nice and secure and it's going to travel with me nice in my bag so if you're looking for a rangefinder of course I don't need to sell you on Bushnell they are the ones they dominate the market there's couple of new features here the Tour V for slope addition are some very nice features and it's a rangefinder that I would highly recommend
V4 RANGEFINDER REVIEW
so here we are at Grail Valley mmm just having a little bit of water around the course a little afternoon hit it's about 4 o'clock in the afternoon Suns looking great we're on here on the sixth hole sixth hole here at Corral band valley and we've got something we've been using for today the new Bushnell v4 which I stole or fell yeah stop no way a lot of people may have seen the Bushnell v3 it's been out for quite a while and we've got the v4 here which is brand new it's a smaller version of what the v3 is and it's got gel technology same as with the v3 that's jolt jolt so that it vibrates when you when when you got the pin seeker so pin secret technology basically picks up the foreground first instead of the background especially when you're trying to pick up a flag yeah so basically it will jolt a little bit and look up and there's no lag time either probably get a fire air richer there you go so there's not a lot there is that better so there's no lag time guys v3 a little tiny bit of lag time yeah you just use it so no lag time whatsoever v3 had a little tiny bit of lag I'm still using the 1600 the Bushnell 1600 so the big one it does have more lag again so this has got new micro processors and all the fun stuff to get it to pick it up quicker I think as soon as you push it it comes on doesn't it so you put it on a flag and then tell me when you click it how quick is that yep point nothing so the new Bushnell v4 the predecessor or successor predecessor successor to the v3 is now out to a v4 a little bit of a smaller unit a little bit more powerful I think a little bit clearer and maybe even more splash proof as well yeah very clear yeah yep 138 138 from here there we go very very small unit and for your range finders it's as good as it gets pushed nuts been around forever in a day with scopes rifle scopes and also hunting range finders and that's where these are derived from so lot smaller unit a stick from Bushnell's always thought I don't have one no no no and then again like I said I got 1681 it works fine yeah brand-new technology a little bit quicker what more do you want and it in a smaller unit price I doubted price but it's around 400 bucks I think recommend retail maybe a tad more over here but guys check out your local retail stores for the Bushnell V for both excellent all right yeah beautiful nice little carry case as well thanks for check out the video guys plenty more videos to come from product reviews more videos here from Corral burn as well wait maybe I should get one instead of asking you all the time correct correct that's why you should get your own thanks guys we'll see you next time beautiful ketchup you
ON COURSE MINI REVIEW
[Music] hi guys I'm down at Sun City I have come out on the Sunday just to have a practice and to get to grips with this bought this the other day the Bushnell tour V for just a standard edition not the slightest and I'm really pleased to be actually making quite a difference quite more attacking when I come to my shots now so I'm gonna try this a knife is to go whoa I'm turning on where's that lens down here somewhere hey can we see through that kind of turn it on there we go and yeah it was that see that there 126 a little flag icon and they might heard the jolt as well so 126 all slightly in front of me as well so it's a little bit less than that but makes a big difference particularly that exactly the distance to the flag I hope you happen to be a bit more attacking with it now and leave it on the great sounds pretty good for distance little bit left but this is good okay so our part of the green there's a ball there I mean it wasn't a great shot but the distance was pretty much spot-on on side onto the green at the moment I'd hit the shot from down that way so now the distance got the alignment wrong but that can happen but I knew exactly how far I had in take my voice go and Boylan poof I can't get up and down [Music]
