Best Golf Club Sets for the Money Buying Guide
3 Questions You Must Ask Yourself
Before you consider investing in a golf club set there are a few very important questions you need to answer.
Answering these questions will help you better determine if this is an investment worth making.
Question #1 - What Are My Golf Goals?
Before buying a set of golf clubs you should take the time to identify your goals.
For example, is golf more of a hobby that you do with your brother in law twice a year? Or are you a golf fanatic who wants to hit the greens every chance you get?
If you view golf as more of a hobby then there is no need to spend a ton of time picking out clubs. Just find a decent pair and hit the greens.
If you view golf as something you want to do every chance you get, then you will need to take a little more time when it comes to picking the right golf club set.
Question #2 - How Dedicated Are You?
Just because you have a desire to hit the greens every chance you get doesn’t mean you will. This is one of those questions where you really have to be very honest with yourself.
How dedicated are you to the game of golf? Do you plan on practicing on a regular basis? Will you be taking lessons to improve your game?
If your answer is “no”, or you aren’t sure how dedicated you are right now, that’s a sign you want to go with cheaper clubs.
No need to spend hundreds of dollars on clubs if you aren’t all in.
Question #3 - What Is Your Budget?
The amount you spend on clubs should be directly tied to your level of dedication. Unless of course you have an unlimited supply of money at your disposal.
Since you are reading this guide we will assume that isn’t the case. The good news is you can find golf club sets in a variety of price ranges.
Most major manufactures charge between $250-$600 for new drivers. However, you can find drivers for half that price from some of the lesser known brands.
If you are a beginner there is no need to invest in top of the line equipment. You can opt for cheaper alternatives, which we have listed below, or you can opt for off brand clubs.
The problem with off brand clubs is they tend to be made using cheaper materials. As a result you may find that they aren’t as durable as some of the major brands.
While this article is about the best value clubs, as your progress from beginner to more advanced, then your clubs should also change.
4 Factors To Consider When Buying Golf Club Sets
1. Price
As we’ve already stated numerous times, a new set of golf clubs can be very expensive. Take the time to research your options so you can find a set that fits within your budget.
2. Weight
Chances are you won’t be investing in a golf trolley. Because of this you will need to carry your bag around the golf course as you play.
If your bag is too heavy it will wear you out. If you don’t have the strength to swing the golf club you won’t play a very good game.
Look for a set of golf clubs that are light enough that you won’t be bothered by carrying them around for a few hours.
3. Size
When it comes to golf clubs there is no one size fits all. If at all possible test out club sizes before purchasing them.
If you will be ordering online consider going to a local sports store and trying out a few golf clubs. The goal is to find the size that feels comfortable.
If all else fails you can always have your clubs personally fitted to you. This of course is not the best option for those who view golf as nothing more than a hobby.
4. Set
How many clubs are included in your set and what kind of clubs are they?
There is nothing worse than buying a set of golf clubs only to find out it doesn’t include a driver or putter.
Generally you can expect a golf club set to include a putter, wedge, iron, hybrid, and fairway wood/driver.
When buying a golf club set take the time to think about the golf course you will be playing on the most.
Are there a lot of hills? Are the holes short or long? Knowing this information will help you better understand what types of clubs you will need in your set.
Understanding The Different Types of Clubs
As just stated, golf club sets usually include five different clubs. The shaft and grips on all clubs are very similar.
When you get to the head that’s when you will start to notice the differences. The head can be different in style, size, and weight.
Let’s briefly discuss each type of golf club and some of their differences.
Woods/Drivers
Woods are most commonly referred to as drivers. Out of all the clubs in your set, the woods will have the largest head.
This type of club will give you the power and distance you need to drive the ball from the tee.
Please note you won’t be able to use this club on the fairway unless it is a fairway wood.
Irons
The irons are without a doubt the most versatile clubs in any golf club set. You can use them from the tee all the way up to just before you hit the green.
After striking, the iron will provide you with different strengths and different speeds. You can use it for both short and long range shots, as well as for shots that fall somewhere in the middle.
Hybrids
The hybrid is a combination between woods and irons. It has some of the same styles and features as both of those clubs.
Many players have replaced their long 3 and long 4 irons with the hybrid because it provides better playability.
Wedges
There are two kinds of wedges. The sand wedge and the pitching wedge. If you are in the bunker you want to go with the sand wedge as it has the chop and loft needed to get the ball out of the bunker.
The pitching wedge on the other hand is perfect for those times when you want to ensure you get on the green without hitting the ball too far.
Putters
When you are on the green the putter is the only club you will need. Thanks to its heavy head and flat face you are able to hit the ball at the perfect angle to get it into the hole.
The putter is also great at pushing the ball closer to the hole when it is at the edge of the green. In these situations a iron 9 or pitching wedge won’t get the job done.
You will instead need to use a mallet putter or blade putter. The one you use will depend on your personal skill level.
4 Most Commonly Asked Questions about Golf Club Sets
When it comes to purchasing golf club sets there a 4 common questions that always get asked. They are as follows.
Question #1 - How Much Should You Spend On a Golf Club Set?
In all honesty, you should set a budget and spend only what you can afford to spend. However, how much you ultimately spend will depend on the type golf club set you choose to buy.
Most sets come with between 8 and 14 clubs. Having multiple clubs is important as it will mean you are better prepared to handle a variety of situations on the golf course.
As you very well know, each golf club set has a different price range depending on how many clubs it has, features, etc.
Yes you can always opt for a cheap golf club set, but generally speaking they aren’t made using the best materials.
Because of this they are more likely to snap after only one swing. To prevent this from happening stick with quality brands such as Callaway or Wilson.
Luckily we have reviewed 10 of the best golf club sets for the money right above. Just scroll back up and read!
Question #2 - What Is The Best Golf Club For a Complete Beginner?
If you are just starting out chances are you aren’t even sure if golf is really something you like. If this is the case there is no need to invest in a full set of golf clubs.
At least not right now. If later on down the road you totally fall in love with golf then buy all means, get a full set of golf clubs.
But until then, all you really need is a driver, a putter, and 2 or 3 irons. If you want more options while playing a casual round you can throw in a pitching wedge and a 3-wood.
You may also need a 5 or 7 iron to ensure you have enough power on the fairway. Having these two irons will save you a great deal of time.
Take the 5 and 7 iron to a driving range so you can get in some extra practice.
As a beginner it will take some time to work up to a full course. Even still, practicing with the 5 and 7 irons will help you get used to how it feels to swing those clubs.
As your game improves that is when you can start looking into investing in full golf club sets. While we recommend a few clubs when you are starting out, if you want a full set then check out our Best Set Of Golf Clubs For Beginners.
Question #3 - What’s better? New or Used Golf Clubs?
This is a very good question and one that most newbies have. Buying used clubs is actually very common in the world of golf. Especially for those who are just starting out and don’t want to spend a ton of money.
While there is nothing wrong with buying used golf clubs, you do want to make sure you are extra cautious as there are certain risks that come with purchasing something that has previously been used.
Before buying a used set of golf clubs take the time to thoroughly review each club. Inspect every part of the club.
This means the head, the shaft, the grip, and everything in between.
When looking at the clubhead you are looking for signs of wear and tear on the face. Generally speaking, clubs that have been used for an extended period of time will have a nice big shiny spot right in the center.
When a club has a big shiny spot it won’t hold the ball well which means you will have a hard time hitting it.
Even though the club is used you still want the grooves to have well defined edges. If there are any indentations in the clubface, do not buy those clubs.
If the clubhead was constructed using anything other than steel, look at the crown of the clubhead to see if there are any dents.
When it comes to the shaft you want to make sure there are no indentations or worn areas. Both are signs that the shaft could soon break due to weakness.
Twist the head and grip in opposite directions to test the torque. There needs to be a great deal of resistance when you twist. If there isn’t that’s a sign of weakness.
If its a steel shaft look to see if it has been bent back into shape.
After you check the shafts you should check the grips. You don’t want any splits, cracks, or worn areas on the grips.
If you do notice these things you can either opt not to buy the clubs, or you can simply have them regripped.
The good news is regripping will cost you no more than $15 per club.
The last thing you want to check for when it comes to used golf clubs is consistency. You want all the clubs to have come from the same original set.
The easiest way to check for consistency is to line up all the clubs in order and compare them. The last thing you want is a set of clubs that have different shaft types.
Mixing and matching clubs is a guaranteed way to ruin your game.
After inspecting the clubs you should practice with them. This is actually something that you should do with both new and used clubs.
The goal is to see how well the club performs and the only way to do that is by taking a few swings. If you need to take a few whiffle balls with you.
Never purchase a set of used clubs if you aren’t allowed to test them out first.
While buying used can help you save some money, in some cases you may be able to find the same clubs new at a better price..
It may be tempting, but don’t jump on the first deal you come across. Take a little time to shop around.
You may be surprised with what you can find within your price range.
Question #4 - What Are The Best Brands?
This is another very common question that almost all newbies ask.
As with all sports, be it basketball, football, baseball, or golf, there will always be certain brands that are considered better than others.
If you have been playing golf for a while there is a good chance you are already familiar with the best brands.
For the sake of this question however we are going to act like you have just watched the Ryder Cup and now you have a burning desire to get involved with the sport of golf.
The only problem is you don’t know which brand of golf clubs to invest in.
The top two brands in golf have been and will more than likely always be Wilson and Callaway.
They are both trusted and well respected in the world of golf. However, they aren’t the only decent brands.
Some other very popular brands include Cleveland, Ping, Cobra, PXG, Titleist, and Odyssey just to name a few.
Please note we don’t have a preference when it comes to brands. We believe you should choose your golf clubs based on how they feel and how they can help you improve your game.

clubs didn't grab a putter for two hundred and eighty nine dollars now if you went to Walmart if you went to Dick's Sporting Goods and got a full set of clubs for two hundred eighty nine dollars they're not going to be any good they're not going to be quality made the shafts aren't going to be quality made it's just not going to be a good set of clubs the best thing to do is I went to PJ superstore you can get on ebay you can get on these places and look for good quality clubs that are three or four years old so almost all the clubs that I got I'm going to kind of run through the entire set or the ones that I did get and talk about which ones they are and what to look for here but they're all about four years old the technology in the last four years really isn't that much difference I mean I bet you wouldn't be if you put these on a robot you would see very little to any difference from four year old clubs so now current date clubs that's not to say if you're a professional golfer if you're a serious amateur golfer and you really really care about your game that you shouldn't go out and get fit and get the best clubs understand that if you're on a budget you want to get really good clubs that are ninety percent as good as the brand-new stuff then go ahead and get some new stuff sometimes you can get better stuff because you can get upgraded shafts you can get a lot of things that you wouldn't be able to afford with new clubs if you get a little bit older so the first rule let's go ahead and start out with the driver so I got a ping i20 driver brand new this driver is three hundred and fifty dollars really cool looking driver I like the shape to the head here it's in good condition has a few scrapes and scratches and stuff like that but nothing that's going to mess up the play of the club it's got a project X 6.0 shaft project X is a really nice shaft that's probably a if I had to guess about a hundred and fifty dollar shaft just for itself this driver is only 75 dollars used and that's the first rule is to make sure that you get the name brand name brands are going to make the quality stuff so if you're getting clubs make sure you get ping Titleist TaylorMade Callaway Cobra Bridgestone I'll throw a couple now up on the screen here stick to one of these if it's not on this screen if it's not a name-brand club don't get it because it's probably not going to have the engineering and the quality that's put into it there are exceptions out there but as a general rule of thumb stick with the name brands so this driver picked it up for $75 brand-new three hundred and fifty dollars and it's really going to play about just exactly the same as the other one so sticking with the name brands we got a hybrid iron this is a three degree I didn't pick up a 3-wood I just got a hybrid three hybrid so I figured it'd be long enough to where you could still hit it off the tee get some good use out of it or you could get out of the fairway so it's kind of versatile if I didn't want to get a full set of this hybrid has a osek program 95 shaft is a $100 shaft if you want to buy it on its own about this hybrid for $49 brand-new it's $199 plus the upgraded shaft you're probably looking at $250 440 $49 now so 15 bucks this is RBZ tailor made stage 2 hybrid very heavy stiff shaft that made it a little bit more difficult for me because I had to get some clubs that fit my game and I've tried these out these all play really well to be honest I there's a little bit of difference I probably prefer my own set of clubs but I don't prefer them for $2,500 more her kind of thing if I had to to really put my money where my mouth is kind of thing so that was a $250 hybrid 50 bucks I got a set of irons these are one of my favorite set of irons and this is kind of what prompted me to do this video is I actually picked these up a while back when I was just in a store and saw in there and I always liked these these are the Adams idea these are forged irons these are $1,000 for a brand new set really good shape I mean the faces have a little bit of wear on there but still pretty clean so once you make sure that you get those name brands make sure that the condition is good if we have dents in the club head if we have gouges if we have the faces worn down doesn't matter if these are a thousand set irons if the face is completely worn down and there's no grooves left on them they're not worth anything because they're not going to get the ball to react the right way so these idea black forged irons probably some of the softest irons that I've hit kb/s shafts in them really nice set irons usually a thousand bucks I paid 125 dollars for these so big-time discount there and a really good set one of the other things you want to make sure of when you're picking sets irons I would steer away from eBay unless you've already hit the clubs and you know that you like them go to a store try out fifteen different used drivers you know take a look at it see if it looks good to your eye before you ever swing it if it doesn't look good to you maybe make one swing if you don't hit it great then just go ahead and you know go on to the next one every driver I've ever had that I hit really well I mean I love to hit hit really solid I always it felt good it looked good as soon as I picked it up first swing it just felt right to me and there's a lot of things with you know subconsciously you'll be able to feel you know maybe you have an over-the-top swinger and inside-out or a specific thing with your swing that a certain type of driver is just going to feel a lot better to you so try it out first couple swings if you like it then stick with it and maybe keep on hitting some more with it if you don't like it right away just go ahead put to the side don't try to fit your game to a club just because it has a good name brand on it if you don't hit it well in the wedge itself I got a 56-degree wedge here $35 for this the face is slightly very very slightly worn but the grooves are still in pretty good shape this is a Cleveland 588 r-tx with the Rotex face this is $120 wedge still if you bought this new so this is an expensive wedge very nice had a good amount of bounce 14 degrees of Bounce on there I like to get wedges that have a little bit more bounce that way they they want to slide through the turf and they don't tend to dig down in the ground you're going to be a lot less likely to chunk them if you get on tight lies kind of helps it to slide through the turf there so again nice name-brand on there also keep in mind when you're looking at these clubs make sure that you get the right flex of the shaft so even if you don't get custom fit you should know about what the right flex is for you if you're a brand-new beginning player and you have slower swing speed you may go with a regular flex shaft older players that have a slower swing speed maybe want to go with the senior flex and then up from there if you're just kind of a middle kind of normal swing speed you go with a regular flex shaft that have a little are for those of you're brand new to the game maybe don't know there's there's an R for regular flex S is for stiff flex that's a higher swing speed maybe if you're swinging around 100 and miles an hour to 110 miles an hour with the driver that's going to be right around in the range of a stiff flex shaft and then an extra stiff would be for really high swing speed players if you don't know what your flex is you're probably going to be a stiff or a regular or a senior usually extra stiff shafts or for really high swing speed players you're going to know if you swing that fast that's 110 mile an hour swing speeds and higher for most clubs so make sure that the clubs name-brand the faces are in good condition make sure that their quality look at the retail of it go ahead and find the ones that are $1000 plus for a brand new set and get those make sure that the shaft fits you and makes your overall it's in good shape so I this set of clubs that I got set irons wedge hybrid driver retail price on them twenty-six hundred and fifty dollars and I think I paid two hundred and seventy dollars for the entire thing so big-time excuse me I said twenty six hundred fifty sixteen hundred and sixty dollars not twenty-six hundred so getting a little over a thousand dollars off twelve thirteen hundred dollars off saves you a lot of money you're still going to get the good quality stuff so good luck to you guys play well go out there good luck finding the perfect set of club for you I'll see you guys soon guys hope you all really enjoyed this video if you did I got a fantastic bonus for you and we know if we really want to rip that golf ball we want to get remember to subscribe so you'll see our latest videos and I'll see in the live video hi guys and welcome back I'm clay Ballard and in today's video we're going to talk about one of the absolute worst drills for creating lag a very common drill that I see and in this drill what we're going to do is we're going to set the wrist very early to create an angle of lag and then we're going to try to hold this throughout the swing it's one of the worst things that you can do to build lag I'm going to talk about the science behind why this is the case and I'm also going to give you a great drill to help you improve your lag all in this video let's go and get some do it this way versus holding that position exact same thing happens when we're building lag in the golf swing so what we want to do is throughout the swing I want to have a very low and wide takeaway so I'm not going to set my wrist early at all if you look at a lot of the top players you look at Adam Scott a very wide take away not very much reset at all you look at Rory McIlroy you look at Tiger Woods all these players are using a wide take away and not getting very much wrist set so that later in the swing as we start down and we can increase this wrist set and we're really only going to max out this angle of lag for a split second in the downswing okay so a three-step drill here now as we get started with this I want to remind you that the fulcrum in this golf club for getting a massive amount of lag is right at the end of the golf club this is where I want my hinge point to be I want to use the full length of this club to build lag and and release like you

oh sure the other guys have expected okay great yeah here we go I've won I'll trade you now you're Australian I'm just a normal voice Jesus so there you've got a little bit wet yesterday and I think it's safe to say if we know God for me today right before we get stuck into this video should we get one thing clear another way and that is that I'm not be Jeff rational I'm not a qualified club fitter so I'm not here to tell you what God perhaps you should or I shouldn't buy and that's actually three things isn't it what a brilliant Stella [Music] purpose of this video is to hopefully help you avoid making the biggest mistake that most people make through no fault of their own when they go and buy a new golf clubs and that is not understanding Lots now and I would love to sound pretty sort of boring and conversations about loss and get pretty geeky pretty quickly so I'm not going to get into all that I just want to make a quite simple explanation of what happens when you go for a golf club 1509 is mainly and how caught often people get or throwing in not buying the wrong thing because they don't understand what they're being sold so to help simplify things I have fiblet of undercover footage in a golf shop and a cold fitting oh then go shop employee I don't think about buying some new islands new islands are my key you've come to the right place oh you're an Australian I mean you know I guess I basically just wanted my wants to be different to yours but I've sort of started like this now so I guess I've kind of got a carry on with it right yeah anyway about those irons you make new ones no problem whatsoever is that your outside you got there you can have a look at that oh Christ these like three years overnight what are you doing would you like to snap these off now well hold on there's still a lot of lines I just sort of thought maybe there's something that'd be better for me just wanted to kind of come in and maybe test out see if you could help me out yeah my problems give up lucky for you got the laser radar Super Bowl projectile or tracker gizmo mark fork or thing right I mean look here's what they make will get you to hit your seminar a few times on that thing I just named the Bridewell thing and then we'll get you to get some new ones and we can prepare all about the daily you know yes I mean that's kind of why I came in really because I wanted to know you know that I wasn't allowed you say it was definitely worth it so don't want to spend you know a thousand pounds on something that's actually know better than what got the moment so that sounds brilliant right might see ya hit that three times right mates I'll call you baby gear from your own Club your own 7-iron on this iPad is that not dinner mat iPad not a dinner matter anyway I can see you hit this one about 145 yards on average why don't you ever crack this one this is new inmate just coming to that okay great y'all give it go well I'm hitting that 165 yards there's not 20 yards right that's massive well yeah no idea a difference between that big oh yeah man when these clubs are off the charts you know it's see like they've got the super injection pump Oh fine and then they've got the red hot kettle face injected steroids here and the time and then in here they've got their 6-inch stiletto and then they've got the hotter than a pit row straight out the toaster face so stuff is coming off that like red hot right okay cool well guess if I can hit it twenty yards further the veg o'clock that's going to make the game a lot easier for me isn't it I guess that's the whole point of getting new clubs yeah that's exactly why I made and nobody helped me get my bonus this month what's that I'm having inside boys running inside boys hey what do you say you're gonna go for two of these no no GX exercise that might actually seem like quite successful fitting the golfer comes away with a seven iron that you can hit 20 yards further than his old one and don't many golfers who would say no to an extra bit of distance but there is a problem and it's not the fact that you were straight out the car and cold when you were hitting your own Club competitive it warmed up when you were here in the new one it's not really the fact that you are only comparing the seven nine versus a 7-iron so you're not comparing you know the other clubs in the back ie three iron or four iron at one end and it's way to the other end it's not the fact that the fitter sometimes deletes any particularly bad shots at you hit with the new club which kind of skews the results and it's not even that some and not many but some unscrupulous visitors can actually tweak the settings on the launch monitor to give the club's they want to buy an unfair advantage so they can change the attitude or the temperature or whatever which makes the new club look like it's poor man even better a big problem with most fittings isn't actually any of those things although they're not great obviously the biggest problem and the thing that kind of undermines a lot of these fittings almost completely is that the lofts aren't the same on the club that you're comparing but I hear you ask why does that even matter well I'll tell you right so my 7 iron is a ping by 25 the seven iron has got 33 degrees of loft and I hit it about 160 yards okay six iron 30 degrees loft hit it about 175 iron 27 degrees loft it about 180 now if I were to get a set of callaway rogue X Islands and by the way I'm not picking on the Callaway ear I could pick any sort of super-strong lofty except from any manufacturer and use new ones to make a point the seven iron in that step has got 27 degrees of loft it's called a 7-iron but as you can see it's better the same as my 5-iron so I probably hit that 180 yards but also probably get about 5,000 rpm spin same as I get my phone so which one is even more comparable to a 5-iron or my sever though it's the father now you're probably thinking who cares but ultimately you should if you're the one who is buying clubs based on their provider they go further than your parent once you are let's believe in some of these fittings that is great you know the new 7-iron goes so much further than your old one but all this happened is that they dropped out the 6 or even the fiber line effectively and written seven on the bottom of it so obviously it goes further it goes the same as your old 5-iron because it is the same as your old fiber and why is that a problem you know doesn't matter you just everyone is going further than you everyone who cares about all this nerdy loft crap that Rob's talking about well the problem the problem is trying to tell you a problem the problem is that generally well not generally unequivocally the less luck you've got the harder something is to hit that's why it's easier to hit a wedge than a one iron if your 7 irons only got 27 degrees of loft you'll find your long irons much hard to hear because it now got so little loft so obviously you'll end up with a 4 iron or 3 iron which has got almost same loft as your driver which is mental that is a big reason why a lot of people can't hit and don't hear three irons anymore and even for rides becoming a lesson that's used so people are using hybrids instead and with less lot your general media yet lower launch and lower spin but that means if you've now got a seven iron with less loft it's harder to carry over obstacles around grains you know sometimes they put bunk is there and actually stop the ball on the green and another problem full of them is that these super strong laughs give you problems at the other end of you so it might be nice my own tip my pitching wedge 160 yards but I'm doing that then what clubs have I got to cover all the ologies down from there you know I need to hit shots 130 ours 120 ours hundred ten yards hundred yards 90 yards you're either gonna have to get very very good at hitting kind of harsh off so he caught the shots to cover a massive range of the oddities or you can have to carry about six different wedges in your back I'm not saying that we shall be playing traditional blades with traditional loft and there's no place for these more powerful distance game improvement irons you know a lot of golfers who just need as much distance as they can get and they're less worried really about spin and stopping things on the green because that's not the way they really playing the game what I am saying is that as consumers we should be aware of this when we're going for fittings if you're going to spend nine hundred queried a thousand pounds or whatever on a set of iron's you should know what you're being sold and why you're buying it there's manufacturers know that most people aren't going to be looking at the specification sheet and comparing the loft of their old set versus a new set so they're going to come out of any fitting thinking that was brilliant on hitting mine at you 7-iron fifteen or twenty yards further than the old one and I don't think it's all about you know manufacturers or Club fitters kind of tricking us I think a lot of time there's just a lack of understanding I've seen loads of reviews from you know decent professionals talking about like lots of faces and injection this and that and that's why they're always going further ignoring the fact that it's just a lot to the RNA and the USGA America basically have rules on how kind of hot a clock base can be so any club and manufacturer makes has to be tested and if it's too hot then it was non-conforming so you basically they wouldn't reach it because nobody would buy it so the only way for them to get the extra distance is by decreasing the loft now Lots vary a lot from one set to the next so you can still buy a set of kind of what they call better player irons or blades where the seminar I might have 34 and 35 degrees of loft where as you can get obviously what they call my game improvement generally you're bigger you know bigger head distance irons which might have as we've seen as little as 27 degrees of loft in a 7-iron but generally lots of getting stronger and stronger as years go by because manufacturers are strengthened those laughs they can say look at a 7-iron you know in this 390 yards we've got quite from Tom Wickham who is a massive expert guru club fitter each year in order to say their clubs hit further the club companies have been tinkering with the loft angles luring little bit at time each year as a result every club in the set has moved up at least one if not two numbers so when you go to drive arrange for a demo day and you find you're getting a new 6-iron further than your current 5-iron you now know why it's because the shiny new 6-iron in your hands was a 5-iron only a few years ago and probably a 4-iron a few before that so where's it going to end you know we're gonna have with pitching wedges that have got 15 degrees of loft because then we can hit them 200 yards I just don't like this as a sales tactic I feel like it's a bit as if you went to buy a new car because you wanted one that goes faster and all they did was scrub out a miles per hour and your speedo right in kilometers an hour and say look there you go going nearly twice as fast now and you're sort of thinking that's probably a terrible analogy you know it looks like it's doing something a lot better than before but actually it's not what you were doing in from a set of iron's and if you go for fitting then this is what you should be hopefully try to achieve is a set that go consistent distances throughout the bag with consistent been club by Club the actual loft on each iron is irrelevant and when you've got your irons you do much better off just screw it out the number on the bottom as we've seen that number doesn't actually really mean anything and writing in your carry distance it's really two club it's quite a feat or price to do that because that number is one of the mats that you need to know how far you hit that Club not what the manufacturers decided to call it this year it's that carry number that determines whether you end up pin-high with a manual burning part or attending on short the green in a bunker with a horrible up and down I hope it made some sense and been useful let me know what you think in the comments down below have you benefited have you ever bought clubs based on the fact they go further is that what you're looking for am I in India which is quite possible you know this is all my opinion but I just worry that more and more people are being sold ions based on this notion of oh look my new 7-iron goes further than my old one when actually all you've got now is a 6-iron with seven rate on it if you liked the video please give it a thumbs up if you didn't one of them I guess if you haven't already then please do subscribe and I will see you very soon for another video [Music] see you later another video still done I have to sign off every debug videos I don't know what to do [Music]
