i-it's for golf custom and today is the TaylorMade m6 are in their brand-new products for 2019 and I'd say probably one of the best self-help clubs that we've seen coming out if you're new to the channel this is about the fitting side of this product so this isn't about the exact spec in tech this is what's gonna show you and share our fitting knowledge and who we've been fitting and how we've been putting this in the last couple of weeks and I'm gonna go straight into player profile let's get on to who's this for and who's it for if you're new to the channel please subscribe this information is what you're gonna want to look at if you're thinking about these irons talk to us about who you've been fitted with it as you said itself essentially comes along and essentially fits in no speed nor distance no flight so let's let's explain the the no distance tank give me the give me the speeds or even I think what seven arm distance that's a probably a good way to start yeah tell us about that if you're this distance this product you should be looking at so if you're currently so if 7-iron is 120 yards yeah that's where you need to be kind of thinking about this product so so this isn't necessarily speed for speeds process although the face is really thin and they've had to put this new speed bar in there and that's there to control the amount that the head to face will actually move so speed bar is there to create a stability for a speed but I I think this is a distance from a flight perspective so let's explain so if you know this is no no no Floyd yes this thing will launch it but the loft is very very strong because the way it's been repositioned low on the bottom of the head hence there'll be massive flight if you didn't have the loft strong so don't don't disregard that if you're looking up the specs online and you see that they're strong lofted that's for the reasons to do with the CG and which is center of gravity and also where the weight at the face flexes it tends to get the ball in the air so they have to strengthen the lot and it all balances out and but you mentioned plug and play earlier on at the start and what what do you mean by that give us give me what I mean as much as this goes against everything that I'm about as a technician there's a fitter careful now this is potentially a product that you can buy off the shelf it's it's all about light weights those Lords of graphite the steel options are all light now you've got to be a little bit cautious of the nib on it's a little bit heavier than the 85 would suggest in the kb/s max so maybe there's plenty of nip bonds in there as well in 50s name fifties lords of lightness but we are finding it's a real Graf way product it's all this product range traditionally down it's all part of the speed story lightweight yeah there's a great at most product and it comes in those different weight lines so you can you can kind of find your level with it but what Dave is talking about is in terms of buying these off the rack that says it's as close as a product that you can find a weave but that we've seen in the market you take off the rack get it in play but you have to be careful I noticed the shaft lengths it's a little bit long half inch over traditional standards yeah and then yeah so if you're that you know senior golfer are or even the lady golfers yeah and you're not that tall just be careful because obviously the length is longer therefore you're gonna have to adjust a lie a little flatter so that's really the only thing that we can see from a fitting perspective and talk to me about you talk about this a client you had last week and this was a perfect product because of the gapping you're talking about the gaps I think there's two major improvements over last year's product what is the noise the soundbar the really crisp from years past yeah m4 was a little bit of a higher phonetic I found and this is a lower and you're right there they put that nice little damper in behind the face yeah and it does it lowers that the sounds a little bit and they've done a lovely job because they're still a slot a bottom slot in this iron which gives it a little bit more speed lit but go and then they've dampened that off and the gaps though between the clubs said oh this is a perfect party for you because you hit your traditionally what I mean it would be quite a common problem in fitting to have your 5-6 angle the same distance you know seven nine eight I am so from a from a distance perspective where maybe everything sits a little bit on top of each other it's a great way a great product for maybe just expanding those gaps out a little bit given a definition clubgoers x goes why there's a poster well i could hit that one all that one great reason this subscribe top tip there so if your arms you notice you're out playing with your current set of irons and your arms are going the same distance so you're five and six are going the same distance or you're seven and eight you're not seeing enough between the different lofts this is a product to consider so along with those gapping of the club is in between the irons and trying to get that distance just right another really think good thing we've been doing from a fittings is we've been bringing more hybrids into the set and then dropping them out now there's no three iron with this iron and that's quite important because the four iron obviously is quite strong but what we've been seeing is we've been dropping out fours and fives and sixes and replacing them with the m6 hybrid we're gonna review that down the road and so put in hybrids where you'd normally put in long iron so we're seeing a lot of fives and sixes in hybrids and then going seven eight nine pitch another thing to remember is also there's a gap wedge or an a wedge in this set you might want to put that in because it's 49 degrees which is nearly like a an old pitching wedge you're gonna want that gap wedge and if you are that higher handicap golfer and you're looking for you know much more help from your game you want to get the ball into the air quickly and even if you have a little bit of a cut to the right if you're a right-handed golfer this is the product to consider if you're a more mid to low handicapper this might not be the iron for you to consider but don't worry I've reviewed the p7 90 from TaylorMade I'll put a link to that up here for you can have a look at that iron that might be more your flavor hope you're enjoying the video it's all about the fitting stuff so if you know somebody out there maybe struggling with their game a slightly higher handicap you might want to share this video with them hit the RL to share the video that to learn more about this product it might be for them also if you're new to the channel please subscribe and also if you give the bed a little ring to get notified when the videos go live hope you're enjoying it I'll see you at the next video Oh move it it's really really really maybe

[Music] [Music] once again any attacks back there from TaylorMade as you'd expect there's a big story behind all this range what does it perform that's what we're gonna find out very very soon I'm not going to go straight to drive all day to the idea of this section is that down it for golf Chester and I'm gonna be swayed by what I'm seeing in numbers and when I tell you exactly what I see from the performance that I get out of this Club visibly right now when I hit some golf balls down onto the fairway onto the range rather the other thing I wanna talk about is how this club looks at address and the only really think the thing really to discuss it's the top-line manufacture has done a really clever thing in this last couple of years and where they've got two different shades of the color on the top line so there's a very much on matte silver and there's a chrome silver on the run off for this club and what it does is visibly it's sort of a trick on the eyes I suppose it's that it looks a lot thinner than it probably is in reality but I'd address it's got a thick top line it's a game improvement iron and it's got that little bit of mass but they're certainly getting every year they're just getting the super game improvement irons are getting that a little bit thin it out a little bit more compact and to a level now where I would not have a problem that sort of game in this let's see how it does in terms of performance now we're expecting a long ball for long distances it is twenty eight ninth degree 7-iron we're going to look a bit deeper than SuperStart i said on every video where i donäôt in the ball quite so well this morning but it's a good day there's a good day for testing because or is it should you test on a bad day oh do you mean certainly again it's balls firing out there it's going along and like I said it's what we kind of would expect from a twenty and a half degree iron but there's a big notable difference which I'll talk about after this shot last one 3ds and balls last one the worse a little bit heavy and a little bit down the left big difference for me is sound and feel they've changed things I don't know what it is and again like I won't pinpoint exactly what has made the difference but there is a difference and it's a massive improvement and for me this again is back down where game improvement irons are making this massive leap forward it's another one where we've seen where they're doing that packing it full of power full of forgiveness decent launch angles pick a sweet spot and then they're thrown in a bit softer feel as well so really really impressed so far with that but once again as I've said with all this next stage of this review is going to take out there on the course and I'll give you some feedback [Music] [Music] [Music] right it's a summary on the m6 I have just literally done the finishing bit from on the course with the m5 it's not too dissimilar and the clubs aren't too dissimilar either there is literally just that little bit of add added bulk on the m6 iron for a lot of people that will appeal to them give them a bit more confidence I was more than happy at every point in a dress throughout the course it's that very very nice it wasn't put off by the size or bulk yardage wise I'm not seeing it being overly long hello it's strong in terms of laughs times and not seeing that overly long distance wise but I'm seeing a real high ball flight and launch angle off every Club and the two club side by side in the m5 and m6 even though there's a degree and a half separating them in terms of yardage is not a great deal difference to be honest with you so that again always this myth about I'm not myth so much booked loft equals distance yes it does what it depends in terms of launch as well and I think this ball goes high it's easy to launch very playable in and around as well the greens and things like that so once again impressed the whole range this thing has been impressive out here on the course it's performed well or of I who knows anyway back in a warm place to do a bit of a round upon this one right so in six irons or what did I think well let's talk about and what about looks first of all on this one and for me not overly keen on the finish the piranhas I don't and I'll reach for the club now I don't know I don't know what it is it just it doesn't look I mean comparing it to the m5 for example the m5 I think it's a really really good looking club the colours at these poor in this and this little carbon insert in the back of it I don't know it doesn't it doesn't appeal to me it doesn't I suppose it does not classy enough for me that's the thing I would say and the bulk is there they've done a real clever thing which I mentioned in terms of the top line in terms of thinning it down by giving it to from colors but what so when its sat behind the ball it it looks nowhere near the size and bulk that it probably actually is as a fair bit of offset again which I would not be comfortable with on a personal level but we're going to remember this color B's aimed at perhaps the higher handicapper yeah as that bulk and mass will appeal to others but it wouldn't necessarily appeal to me to gain this one and much preferred the locks and visuals and compactness of the m5 having said that that's a negative so not a lot of positives believe me the first thing that I'll mention is the sound and feel I mentioned it in the m5 they greatly improved that element and that's a huge huge step forward once again with a game improvement iron of this sort of size to get the sound and feel they've got is absolutely bang on the money that's a massive leap forward what they've done here that's a massive and for me it's a big deal not for everybody but for me it's a big deal I don't like the sound and noise that has come out on these islands in the past and I'm not some up tailor man I'm talking about everybody's irons in terms of one you get into this game improvement category but they've really changed that then when I throw up this dry ball data you will also see one other element that is incredibly different twenty and a half degrees with a lot don't forget one thirteen ball speed nineteen point eight so again incredibly high ball flight launch angle rather for the loft what's a spin number five three spin once again and we've seen it I seen in the m5 iron I can't believe that I'm getting that number out of a game improvement iron my spin number would drop off the charts with these kind of things and five three spin on a twenty eight and a half degrees 7-iron don't forget he's incredibly good for me thirty-two PK 161 carry interesting bit for me was that it wasn't that and I think sort of slowed down the old swing a little bit in the last year or so I'm not trying to literally rip these balls in the range so but there was a drop off in yardage is probably a little bit shorter than I was expecting I would expect this club to be out there that sort of one second c-plus arguably like you said the swings I was putting on on on the day but also the loft difference the and I've had this argument many times before about this is twenty eighth ninth degrees the m57 iron is thirty degrees and there was virtually little difference in terms of overall average yardage with dry ball data so there are always different elements that go into me loft launch spin a lot of different things go into that equation never as plain as simple as just all this club is lofted strongly at twenty or twenty five degrees and I think you see that in this seven I easy to launch got a spin number out of it perform really well on the course too bulky for me personally but for a lot of other people that will be a superb club it's got plenty of help in there plenty of assistance I think it's a real real winner once again a movement on from last year's models not massively maybe not not maybe not huge amounts but for me some major differences sound feel and spin they're a big leap forward from last year's models but we'll have a closer look and we'll do some headsets in a week said but for the first look massive thumbs up on the m6 irons for their iconic golfer anyway thank you for watching as ever comments down below and we shall carry on

hi guys I was Taylor down here sometimes old links today and today I'm gonna be testing the new tailor-made m6 I am [Music] rattling guys who do I think this iron is aimed at strong loft kind of lots of weight down in the bottom very very forgiving so for me the m6 is aimed at that guy who's looking for more distance maybe looking for that little bit help getting ball in the air as well and looking for ultra forgiveness so generally speaking probably those mid to high handicappers but I'm not saying maybe those low handicappers you struggle with the ball striking possibly this might stack up as well for you so let's have a really good close-up look at the head talk about some of the tech let's hit some shots and see how the TaylorMade m6 performs well I guess we've got the TaylorMade m6 iron so we have got new speed bridge technology so we could see a really big undercut so nice thin face very very forgiving got a reengineered speed slot in the bottom again just kind of from 7-iron up 8 9 wedge not got that in for this year that were not seeing any slots in the face on the club so they feel that the face can be thin enough that we don't need that extra help from there so 7 iron it's 28 and a half degrees so again very very strong in loft expecting this to be very very powerful and a good looking Club a little bit more technology than m4 but as ever let's see how it performs right and guys so we have got a horrendous day down at living Golf Academy so I've retreated to the studio at sands old links so we've had a close-up look at the m6 head for me I said a little bit more technology in there to make it a bit more forgiving even though a little less visual tech which I don't necessarily think it's the worst thing that you can't now see the slots on the face and the know there was maybe a couple of issues last year with some manufacturing processes I think taking that off the face is going to make it more consistent but let's hit some real balls we have got titleist pro v1 talk about how it looks and feels then we'll look at some numbers and see if m6 and TaylorMade might go in your bag so I think when you look at it behind the golf ball you know it looks like a very very powerful 7n off we go there so a solid one to start where there's my little shape you on back pitch in nearly 170 and like I said you know that I think there's lots of weight down in the bottom with the head so even though this is a very strong loft I'm still expecting probably for me to see that launch angle around about that nineteen degrees but I think what we will see is lots and lots of ball speed out of the 17 and again that felt very very quick of the face I'm not even further and obviously we can see how far the balls finishing there but the big thing for me with the irons is we look at carry distance and again that feels so quick of the face just need to be hitting these gradually longer and longer but last couple it's that one just felt a little bit more bottome bottom groove but still very very good performance and let's go one last one with m6 [Music] and that does feel so quick off the face right they go so totals getting out nearly 200 with a 7-hour so it is super long what you'd expect but let's look at some numbers from m6 the Sierra stacks up right I think I so interesting there we can see some quite big variances in ball speeds like I said I've an expectancy around nine nineteen degrees launched so a little bit higher average ball speed 122 which is definitely quick saw that one at 128 oh that was massively fast 5,000 backspin yeah a little lower than I would be hoping for but expectations of that 28 degree a 28 and a half degree 7-iron would tend to make me think that would be about right so then when you look at the overall average of that Club we see an average carry of 177 total one eight nine that is super super long rattling gasps we've looked at the numbers and to be fair as I expected hot really hot off the face was a little bit surprised with such a spread in the ball speed now I thought the quick one was very very quick I'm not sure I've ever seen one 7:00 a.m. come back quick off the face set up for me but I thought that was a big drop-off now does that mean it's maybe not as forgiving as some of the stuff in the past don't know you know face slots were very very important in the past and they're not now so I don't know it that it's different is it a massive improvement on them for I would say no I think if you guys have already got em for in the bag don't think you'll be changing to m6 I think guys who have got irons that are four five six years old that are looking for that little bit more yes this is definitely something you should be trained so guys hope you've enjoyed the video if you have liked and share it comment below and I'll get back to as many of you as I can subscribe to the channel if you don't already follow me on Instagram Twitter and Facebook all under Taylormade M6 Hybrid Review
Video Transcription
we've recently seen the release of the brand-new tailor-made m5 and m6 drivers and they've kind of stole the show a little bit how do the smaller clubs go the TaylorMade m6 hybrid let's find out and let's do it now hi everyone James Robinson here if you're new to the channel and this is your very first time watching my content first of all welcome and second of all make sure you consider here in that subscriber and if you haven't already put the thumbs up if you are enjoying the content and if you are watching my content regularly and you are enjoying it make sure you go check out my website www.jfn.co.jp/toho m6 hybrid now this is something which we have the gap arrange don't we so the gutter high is obviously hybrid and similar with the m5 and m6 ions I don't know if this is just kind of moving a little bit in the marketing of the m5 and m6 however this is where things change a little bit twists face in a hybrid [Music] yes you heard that right this is the first ever high bit on the market that does offer twist space we have 1.5 degrees of twist and you can actually visibly see it when looking at the face something you can't do when you look at the drivers you can see it on the fairway woods this is because the small clubs tend to twist a little bit more when you strike them off center and that is designed to help you hit more fairways all off centre hits it is a full titanium design and one thing which I think does not look fantastic is the black head you can say I have the silver front line and then a black head making it trying to look like the m5 and m6 but it's not the carbon finish so it's just titanium painted black and it doesn't look bad down ball but if you get real close to it you can tell that it is just a bit of a paint job we have an enhanced speed pocket which is designed for more ball speed pretty much anywhere around the face I'm hitting this in the utmost if shaft this is a standard shaft that you will find in stores I'm really interested to this actually because to be honest hybrid is something I'm looking to sneak into my bag so if we can get it around that 232 5 mark I don't really care how it looks I'm more interested in how it performs let's find out so I ever want to hit a few shots with this absolutely guys and to be honest feels fantastic it feels really forgiving really easy to get on with looking down at it the black doesn't look as bad as it does real close-up obviously you don't play with the club that so it doesn't particularly bother me too much Wow and that I've got a long way to defer will say he's much better looking underneath we have this kind of grill effect on the bottom really like that that was back or felt very very terribly an offense in the face it did come round to the mall where he's gone who thirty straight down the fairway speed pocket and twist face maybe now I'm always willing to talk too much about twists facing videos because there are some people are believers and some people are but I think it's a very kind of thing what TaylorMade are doing making it visible they keep purely visible very clever too a lot of people suspected in the end of three and four it wasn't even there wow wow that's got a long way let's see one more guys and then let's take a look at those numbers oh absolutely smash that one out of the park let's take a look just how at the TaylorMade m6 hybrid have performed so guys initially dispersion wise I really do need to work on that not fantastic with a hybrid at all but that's not the hybrid that is me looking at the distances you can see a couple of couple of nasty ones that look average distance to 33 that's right in the ballpark I would be wanting it to be fair and I had tested a couple of hybrids today and that is pretty much standard what I would see spin rate spin rate average 3/4 that's nice and high I like that if I'm trying to send the ball into orbit and go to stop quickly on a par 5 green that's really gonna help me so guys after hearing 10 shots with the TaylorMade m6 good shot bad shots in different shots whatever I think now numbers wise this thing stands up to pretty much anything out of tested it is very very good I'm off centre hits yes I saw a distance decrease but you go into I saw nothing which frightened me I don't think this is a terribly difficult Club to get on with in fact it's probably one of the easiest again with a nice big head but that's the reason why I won't be gaming it it's just a little bit too big for me it looks a little bit clumsy for my eye again that is a personal thing it is more suited for I would say the for the mid handicapper maybe even even up into the high handicappers you can get these in quite high loft so you can replace quite a few ions in you set with these I would be looking more towards the gap arrange the low the mid the high even the high gap that does look a little bit smaller than this however it doesn't have the twist base how did twist face perform in the hybrid I liked it I'm not gonna lie a couple of shots out the toeing that didn't kind of shoot myself there left a couple Healey ones and they didn't they didn't do one to the right so yeah it's very very difficult to test I like visually you can see it you can't see it from address so it's not going to put you out but I do like that if you get it in the right light you can see that there is a twist they're very clever by TaylorMade because like I said earlier I think a few people are maybe wondering if it was even a thing guys I'm James Roberts and I'm here with a golf club I do hope you've enjoyed that test of my tailor-made m6 hybrid if you have make sure you hit that subscribe button the thumbs up as always and comment though is this something you'd be using it see you soon
