what is the truth behind the TaylorMade m3 driver let's find out and let's do it now [Applause] [Music] [Music] hi everyone James Robinson here if you're new to the channel make sure you consider hitting that subscribe below to awesome golf player content coming for you and I really don't want you guys to miss it if you're enjoying the content so far make sure you put that thumbs up and comment below as always I want you guys to be a part of the videos and today I want you to comment who here has used the TaylorMade driver this year m3 m4 d-type 460 head 440 head which one have you used and are you still using it did you enjoy it let's get back to the video TaylorMade drivers have been taking both the PGA and European Tour by absolute storm this year but that's no surprise when Taylor made pay all the players to use the visit but hold on a second because Brooks koepka and Francesco Molinari both use tailor-made m3 drivers to win majors this year and neither of them got paid interested every once in a while golf clubs come out where pros use them and they don't get paid for them and to me that says a lot about the golf club must be good our pros will be getting paid to you something else wouldn't like the fact that the TaylorMade m3 has been used by two major winners this year well you could say three major winners couldn't you and they don't have bag deals it saves a hell of a lot about the club itself now I've been using the TaylorMade m3 for a while now I've had it in and out the bag with the title is T s3 and if you watch my vlogs you'll know that the battling each other to get into the bag I've been living with them for I keep saying this I've been using them on and off for months now I can't decide which one to use we're go on a Scotland trip in a week's time and neither of them a favorite they're just the both so good one of the big problems with the TaylorMade drivers has to be the price but and I suppose you could say that with a lot of drivers now couldn't you I remember when I first started as an assistant pro and golf clubs the premium driver was $2.99 always across-the-board ping were always a little bit cheaper ping were about 269 but you look at prices now and they've just absolutely skyrocketed haven't they but then you could say everything in life goes up doesn't it cars have gone up houses have gone up everything's gone up so why wouldn't golf clubs go up in price just like everything else [Music] the fact of the matter is the TaylorMade m3 is a fantastic driver but what's so good about it it's that right there it's the audio it's the visual it looks fantastic it sounds fantastic the TaylorMade m3 sounds pretty much better than any driver I've ever hit before and I include the Titleist ts3 in that category as well that's hard for me to do because that's a fantastic driver as well and we can talk money in golf until we're blue in the face the fact of the matter is there is money in golf we'll always with money in golf and equipment isn't going to get any cheaper so you need to ask yourself what equipment do I want do I want a five-year-old driver that's going to maybe cost me between five and ten yards because if you get a correctly fitted driver even if it's old it's still gonna perform for you if your shafts right if the loft right as long as it's not ten 15 year old Club by the face is thicker than two short planks it's not going to make that much difference so why do we all go out and spend big money on these drivers I know I'm talking a lot about money in this video and I'm going to move away from that in a second and get back onto the driver itself I remember when Taylor brought the r1 that was a similar thing wasn't it it was just way more expensive than anything else and people are sort of getting used to that price bracket now they're getting used to seeing a four at the beginning of a price for a driver and that is a lot of money isn't it and we haven't even really discussed the elephant in the room yet have we twist face technology comment below what your thoughts well we'll take that shot with a little slip of the right foot that's a proper birdie opportunity first thing in the morning so anyway back to twist face now when I first reviewed the drivers I got caught up a little bit in I suppose what I thought I was feeling and seeing but then I don't think I did get copping it out personally I see a difference and you can call me a while you can call me what you on TaylorMade aren't paying me to say anything about this subject at all why would they but I definitely see a little bit of a difference I don't think they had to go as hard on the marketing as what they did I think definitely the marketing which they did they had muckleroy with these days and and Tiger going and then obviously DJ as well he was kind of standard bad like they had a clubface but that didn't need to go as hard into that they didn't need to go hard sell on the twist face I think a few words in the blurb would have been perfect for it and they didn't do that I mean so it's gonna be really interesting to see but this talk of an m6 coming out next year tailor-made m6 are they gonna keep the twist face is the twist face gonna twist more is it going to twist less what do you think do they do they keep it but not go as hard on the south I would hope that's what they do I personally think it's a good little bit of technology it's not revolutionary it's not it's not gonna change your game all but it's there it's there if you need it I see when can this birdie putt [Music] as aggressive I think I needed twist based on the put of that time that was a wide [Music] so on the subject of tailor-made just briefly who's tried these I've done a video of these now we'll put the description above I'm very impressed with them actually from reviewing them I've put the low in the bag in the two iron for a form that stinger up in Scotland may even set it to the one iron and I've got the mid in the three iron which I just hit there it's another birdie opportunity let's see how that goes and back onto them three driver because again this is what the video is all about isn't a tiger got his 80th Tour win this week with the TaylorMade m3 driver and yes I know Tiger gets paid to play tailor-made he gets paid millions but he did change the shaft round the other day didn't they and it didn't change the head and you're not telling me Tiger wanted to use a different driver head he couldn't do the guys using a Bridgestone ball after all isn't it if Taylor Maple of that strict sure he will be using a TP 5 or a TP 5x imagine the sails that will generate for tailor-made tea woods using the tailor-made ball it's not going to happen so we don't need to spend too long on it but just think about that for a second and what about the adjustable wide track how much difference does that have I have done a video on this and again I will put a link above [Applause] that's another part this putter is freezing today just a bit like the temperature I'll not tell you too much about the wire track because I'll let you go and watch the video it's quite a good video actually but long story short it doesn't have that much difference spin rate wise yes playability wise on a golf course in real time with real people so long story short is this way better than the ping g400 way better than the Titleist ts3 Titleist es2 is it way better than the Callaway rogue no personally I don't think it is I prefer the sound I prefer the look I like the way it feels is it way better than the old m1 yes if you watch my video where we compare this the TaylorMade m3 against the old TaylorMade and one there's a huge difference I think the hammerhead technology in the m3 must provide the extra ball speed that gives you the distance over the old-school m1 but when these came out that was so expensive do you ever get the feeling companies are holding back on you a little bit and then just drip feed your little bits of technology I wonder where we'll be in 10 years time comment below what are your thoughts on that I've got one more hole to play let's see where that drives gone and with the talk of the new m6 coming out I know a lot of people are gonna be saying why why did they have to release another driver people are still spending the money on m3 m4 it's still a good product don't get me wrong for me being a golf pro a club reviewer it's like a dream I'm gonna get 2030 more videos out of the new products because you guys are gonna watch it because everyone's interested everyone's intrigued but the could have kept it over six months couldn't they so everyone as a roundup why is the truth behind the TaylorMade m3 driver for me and you might say this is a very similar conclusion to the truth behind the titleist t s2 and TS three drivers that I did last week it's a fantastic driver is a good driver it is better than the previous models is it miles better than anything else on the market at the moment no it's not if there were every single tour pro on the planet would be using them because don't for one second think that just because the game paid a little bit money to use golf clubs that means they wouldn't put themselves first if they had to do to get the win to get the money to win that FedEx Cup Justin Rose won ten million dollars the other day it just so happens that Justin Rose this is a great position where he can get paid to use those clubs use the balls use them well and win well done Justin [Music] okay everyone that's it for me I've been James Robinson I'm here after chilly early hood Asheville Golf Club this morning to bring you the truth behind the TaylorMade and three driver I hope you enjoyed that video if you didn't you haven't already make sure you hit that subscribe button I'm getting to 10,000 subscribers now we may even be over that by the time I've edited this and put it online so thank each and every one of you massively it means so much to me that the channel is growing like it is now I'm down near the greening - this is a par-5 and hopefully I'm going to leave you on a birdie this morning because we've not made one and usually get at least one don't we we got one see you soon
HONEST and UNBIASED Review
hello dumb webs here I'm back in the studio it's an Amazon links Kafka man were here today to do a little review it's gonna be a nice honest review of the new tailor-made m3 driver yes this is the one with the twisty face sure enough the toe has been pulled back the hill has been pulled back and the idea is to give you less dispersion on your off-center strikes so I'm going to come to that a little while as you can see from this little image the crown has got more carbon in it there was a slightly thinner top edge of the the silver look this time rather than white in the previous M models the sole has got the multi weight distribution area today you can see I've got the weight set with weight towards the back for a little bit high in towards he'll help me get that draw and let's blame that why that position in a second we've got the dots on the face going to use hemt hammerhead technology in this club again that is for less inconsistent numbers from across the face all drivers have pretty much got the same cor so that can come off at the same speed no driver specifically will help you hit the ball better that's partly down to your swing but also making sure you've got a correctly fitted driver so if we get the right launch and spin Parrott parameters with any driver whether it's today's model or five years ago we should get the right numbers and that's going to be the right launch of spin for you and your swing so one thing I've got to emphasize if you're looking to watch you're watching this video because you're thinking about buying a new driver maybe you're just looking to learn about some product well hopefully this will give you a bit of education nice and short and why it's important to be custom fitted so yes by all means pop down see me or any other team at the academy head over to your own local PGA pro spend some time with the experts but basically what we're looking for every driver has to be swung correctly to you if we can get a launch angle for me about 14 15 degrees and if we get the spin down to around 2,000 should give us a wrapper to them for what for me for my swing speed again for other swing speeds that might be different so I'm going to hit a couple of shots within a second see whether the twists face works like I say we're going to look at how the dispersion is affected by that new technology and also understand a little bit about whether or not a 429 plan investment is maybe worthwhile or not okay so let's give it a look what I think it's very important to use when you have enough fitted or testing any products out use the ball you play so if you can if you can get the opportunity to use the ball you play at fitting either take your own with you or depending on the 15 Center they should have the ball available for you to get fit with so this ball I'm playing at the moment as a teepee fan this is a brand new ball straight out of the box let's give it a little whack so I'm gonna hit just a handful of shots and give you what my opinion on the product is first of all as I look down at the club I've got this set at 9 degrees at 9:00 put 5 degrees and standard LA no changes to the last sleeve there is lots of changes available and again you can look into that and we can answer any questions if you want to contact me a message me but this isn't a profile the first impression when I set up this club is the face it's open ok and what I think that's because the toe is pulled back it gives me that feeling when I see the face hitting open my my real bad shot is left so it gives me a bit of confidence but I then also move the weight back into the heels just to help if it is a bit open just let me get that drawer if I need it ok the shaft I've got the 10th size shaft on it nice and stiff just well it's just stiff to be fair let's go to hit tell you a bit about how it feels ok so that's not strike it's definitely drawing possibly a little bit Terry just from the numbers I'm seeing as a flight I'm seeing on the screen it's turning over left carry 2:40 running out it's 2 5 6 now we've got to remember that went probably 10 15 yards left we'll look at the strike in a minute but that could have been partly down to me and my swing just felt like a hung back a little bit in the clubface rotated a bit more like maybe that's even can maybe get a strike a little bit more towards the heel this time and see how that affects the ball flight so like I say again I can see that face does look a little bit open sure enough once you draw it though okay that was a good hit again maybe a bit more Healy I don't know cutting that time a fractured again to 40 carry and 264 total last one as you can see the dispersion is pretty standard for me I'm looking for a driver that I can keep in play I'm looking for a driver that I can get good distance out of this looks nice set up to the ball let's give it a whack okay so again three shots that I would say a pretty average for me one straight one left one a little bit right carry pretty consistent on each of them 240 RZR to 60 total it's this club long well it could be if I get the right launch spin and then the swing speed up yeah could well be is it accurate well we'll have a look let's say let's pop over to the computer and have a look at some more numbers so just going into the numbers here I'm going to have a look at them in total okay so ball speed 143 mile an hour ball speed and club head speed 100 miles now up to 102 that's about average for me I wouldn't lie my balls be getting up his early-season need to do a bit of work on the game but hopefully that happen and spin rate was too - we mentioned that's something I'm looking for around that spin rate launch angle averaged 13.5 which is pretty good I'm quite happy with that what I'm interested to do is to see where are striking it and as you can see each of the strikes here towards the toe and and interestingly that two of the shots that are off the toe didn't turn over too much right to left so there is some truth in this slightly off-centre impact by the way if you can see the impact positions they're there Joan only just off center if it's massively off center I would expect a big movement quite happy with that numbers there let's have a look at the average so carry distance - 4 - average total - 6 - it's not long but that's partly down to me I'm sure my swing was pretty solid looking at these numbers here and yeah I quite like that well that's quite interesting yes I've hit it nicely yes my swing speed was a little bit around 100 mile an hour mark my boss feels a little bit low this is my first period of time with this club in my opinion for me that's like the off center strike was straightened up definitely if I wanted to get a bit more distance I'd probably drop my spin down a little bit be careful if you do drop you spin down because that's going to lose accuracy the heavy toe shot the one that was more off-center did move further left so remember if you're looking for a club it is going to fix your bad shots please don't good piece of technology I'll do that for you get some coaching do some development on your game suite you know learned how to present the club batter to the ball but if you're looking for a court maybe you want to change your club because you want to use the latest technology you want a little bit more help and also you like the look and feel of it 100% it's worth giving a go but just remember try it out put it up against your own driver put it up against the rest of the products out available on the market get a good custom fit with someone who knows what they're talking about make sure you get the right launch right spin improve your swing speed make sure you present the club to the ball the right way and you'll get a driver that goes further there is no trickery there's no smoke and mirrors here it's all about getting the right product to suit you once again thanks for watching hope you like the honest review please like subscribe to the channel I'm going to do a few more reviews in the next few weeks looking next at colory rogue so let's see how that falls thanks again for watching
[Music] right early start talking Golf Club we've got tailor-made m3 driver in my hand we're gonna give you a my opinion review let's see what M fries got to offer showing on course and inside numbers sliding weights hammer head all that jazz let's get stuck in [Music] [Music] so first initial thoughts first shot feels good it makes that kind of similar to what you expect tailor-made driver to make Danian face carbon top it felt good it was a decent shot we'll get down and see how it's finished we've got obviously twist face technology on this one so what they're calling they're kind of revolutionary design of face and we've got inside numbers testing and we're gonna do outside testing from the other model I've not seen any benefit with their to his face but we'll see if it's any different in this one I can't imagine why it would because it's kind of the same characteristics but we'll test it definitely as always a very good looking driver with the silver top and the black and in the black face em free logo a little bit of kind of lipstick rounding outside looks good em free does look people call it a bit date it it does look a bit for ragging a lot kind of styling like I've said in other videos but that would never stop me buying a driver decently shot right in the middle of the fairway I can say it felt good and it felt very Taylor matey which in my opinion is a good thing kind of what I would expect so we get the hammerhead on the bottom in the slot design on the m3 we see this also in the m4 we've got the to strengthening bars if you like at the bottom on either side to breaking the slot that looks like into three segments keeping ball speeds up and spins control from different parts of the face they're saying it's some of the best kind of ball speeds and spin models they've synched them across the face than any other model [Music] so hammerhead design I mean from this one and the old one I've got some indoor test what you're gonna see in a second I'm not seeing the difference in the face but it's kind of thing a robot test it's going to show a small percentage increase if you're gonna see that increase you need to go and test yourself really let's get indoors and show you the numbers I was getting with this club well we're moving the weights around as well it's quite interesting so indoor data captured with m3 so I started with the weight forward sort of - weights weight forward in the lowest spinning position you can see it's averaging at 1/9 it carried to five for my longest being - five nine what was interesting in the strikes were all quite high toe which is my kind of normal area of hitting that cup slightly higher than I would always kind of I'd want every shop you see the red one highlighted there was a pretty decent strike yet that was a 2,900 spin where I was getting us down as one six over a thousand res difference my strike playing its part definitely but I just fell in this part of the club this guy was struggling a little bit to give me a kind of consistent flight but as you can see my strikes were definitely buried now if we go to weight back so this is all the weights back and spread out into the corners if you like averaging two five one so drop down a little bit in distance but my longest hit two five eight obviously again strike planets part spin went up to two eight so for 100 to eight again that track is definitely giving the fitter loads of options of moving spin models around because I mean I'm getting big deviations more than everyone we've seen in any other club and you can see there the strikes height I wish to middle ish slightly better back to strikes but more slightly disappointed with the distance but obviously it was launching a little bit high that's not where I would get the weight really in that Club for me I then moved it on this set to back middle so it's far back in the middle of the track two for two really poor performance when it got back their spins going from 2 3 up to 3000 won again three very different stripe patterns as I tested it in the different settings it was very clear to me that this club did really start to struggle in that high toe area it just didn't like it so we're often all the time I said I don't see the benefits of left and right dispersion with twist face what you'll come back to which I kind of don't I do find that that high toe kind of hit for me is maybe it's worse spot so maybe I do there is an effect of twist Facebook for me I'm only seeing it as a negative at the moment then I went to the weights in the middle so when I game it in this video two-six spin around to 4 which is not a bad spin model for me slightly high averaging to 5 3 longest hit out there at 260 obviously my normal average - 6 - and you can see the strikes there again not too bad to be honest so considering the three strikes I'm pretty I'm quite disappointed with the jumping distances from those three strikes and this is what I worry about this Cup a little bit and I'd like you to post comments down below and I've got more tests coming what was interesting if you look at my dispersion here I don't normally miss left and right anyone who watches my videos I am NOT often missing left and right I might have one move away from the pack but there's normally a constant shape of the shot and they're all hitting into that area apart from one maybe two subject to the number the factors I hit but you can see from this club I was getting straight runs but I was also getting a big left and I was also gonna be rights I just find a dispersion with this club it's some of the worst I've ever seen and this is over I'm recording this bit about the numbers actually after Tesla again from this video so you're gonna hear me later on this video probably say I could game it and I kind of think I could just but the more I hit this club the more I'm worried about keeping it on the planet and for me with a driver as anyone who knows me that's just not something I worry about so maybe Twitter Spacey is having a effect but for me I only see it as a really quite negative effect let's get out there and finish the test [Music] so the numbers are interesting from inside aren't they I mean that's those weights are really moving that spin around I mean nearly up to a thousand reps my strikes slightly higher on the face performing well but certainly able to get low spins to vary a whole much higher spins by moving it around so for custom fit for adjustability for dialing people in definitely the weight except the movements in the weights is kind of impressive I've set a link for the middle that's where I was getting my best numbers forward definitely dropping down a bit too low for me back very high and again you see nothing with twists face nothing at all you can write revolutionary but it has to perform in a revolutionary way doesn't it or we just have to be right in it I don't know in my opinion [Applause] that's Eastern it and it sounds it feels really nice and lots of people are gonna like to look at it [Music] so the driver looks great feels great the numbers are decent they're a little bit jumpy but you definitely need to get this Club fitted work with a good fit Oh knows how to move those weights to suit your game but the club's allowing me to put it in the fairway and score isn't it and I kind of wouldn't expect anything else from a tailor-made driver to be honest again to its face down by the ball you can't really see anything on that face I think we're talking about half a degree different so the twist space technology basically it's bending the clubs slightly higher and back in the toe and down to the ground more in heel you think that through basically hi toes over drawing they're trying to get the ball to start more to the right high toes lower spinning to starting it higher keeps up in the air a bit more and then a low heel normal shot cut to the right launch those spins a lot goes up in the air they're trying to launch it a bit lower so when it does spin up in the air it's not popping out as much it's starting it a bit further left all sounds are really good I don't I just don't see it there's anyone see it approach comes down below in my opinion I'm not seeing it I'd love someone has shown me that they're seeing it come on prove to me show me it I can't see it I can absolutely see why the better players are using this cut out the taylormade family of tour players which is impressive you know they're stable players because I think that adjustability is going to give them dial in options that they need and if you look at the bottom of all their clubs it's got so hard and that's why I was finding inside this is your high one just doesn't like where I hit mine doesn't like being hit up the hair and only the top layers you ain't gonna see the weights in the same position for two different players which is great a testament to how obviously fitting is important that you go and get fit for these kind of clubs even with playing with all the weights I am struggling to get a flight that I would settle with with this one but obviously loads are those tall players aren't playing clubs that don't like are they so this one ballooned up near just miss the fairway so accuracy still there regardless what's going on with a face but as you saw inside this one's come up kind of 10-yard sure and those kind of numbers are coming out out here as well for me but there's also a big part I mean it feels like that don't want to work that much harder I want to be able to hit this club which does get good numbers for me and not get that high one anyone else person comes down below struggle a little bit with balls off the time hitting high on though so above the middle slightly in the toe which is my optimum here I don't get the flight that I see from there other drivers as much as I want [Music] could i game this club yes concerns for me the hi here on the face does feel a little bit weaker so i would just need to work with that a bit longer and maybe we'll do some more videos give it a fair a longer test i mean i did it a lot of shots inside it was the same path coming out each time do i think - his face is revolutionary in my opinion absolutely not yeah I think it'll help golfers over the space of a year maybe go tests let me know if you think it will I don't think it will I don't think you're gonna see a big enough difference and I'm pretty sure the RNA USGA are confident that you're not otherwise they'd look more towards maybe giving you that advantage that's the problem all these manufactures have got you can claim revolutionary you can claim world be in but walk around to the same rules so I would just plain marketing specialist down below let me know m3 driver would you have you has it transforms your driving let me know [Music]
TaylorMade m3 driver this is the full review I've had this driver in my hands for the last two weeks after the first water first hit video tested it on GC quad on three different days and not only that I've taken out the golf course to find out if the technology in this new driver actually works so the three features of tailor-made acclaim in in this driver it's making it any better than the previous model is twists face a way that they've redesigned the face to help hit more fairways that's what the claim in hammerhead technology to keep the ball speed hot on low hits and this new wide track weight system which is a more continuous weight system to fine tune the performance I'm gonna see if any of those are actually making a big difference so I'm going to test twist face and hammerhead on the right track to give you the most conclusive information I'm going to answer your questions I'm going to give you a final conclusion that the TaylorMade m3 Drive [Music] so twist face twist face twist base it's been a hot topic the most requested part of this driver I've tested it and I mean tested it I've had this Golf Club in my golf bag for last two weeks I have played around the golf with it I've used it on GC quad on three occasions to collect as much information data as I can about the driver and I wanted to test twist base but in a really organic way I've not gone out to miss the middle but shots happen when I don't hit the middle and I've measured those to share my findings with you guys right now so let's dive through the data first and this is all the data collected on GC quad with pro-v ones of a three day time frame to give you the most in-depth information well I've also created is an optimal performance range for driver shots I've done this over the last 12 months of testing drivers and now I'm going to put the m3 numbers in this optimum performance range and as you see there across the board pretty much every category is in that range we see maybe a slightly lower ball speed at one five nine but we see great distance at two eight one carry it for three hundred total yards and that's all thirty shots testing shots even plus testing on GC quad spin numbers were great at 2150 I achieved that by moving the weights further forward into its most effectively less forgiving setting but the way it's most forward for lowest spin setting and I kept the loft in nine and a half degrees I used a Tensei 70 gram extra stiff shafts so the numbers on the performance I have no issue with at all it hits every criteria this is all my club data just to prove to you that I was swinging it the way that I normally swing it and you see my my optimum Club data for driver and then you see here the m3 so we see a little bit of a lower smash factor a slightly I was hitting slightly further up produced much more loft but really that didn't have a massive effect on the performance of the driver it didn't Wow me in performance we didn't see anything that was spectacular but it did hit the criteria across the board and it got the APRI approval in that category in this whole process testing as well I was measuring every shot and I made some no this is my little red book of testing which I'm gonna introduce you to over the next year or even moving further forward and I was making notes on shots that stood out to me good shots and bad shots in this process as well what I was really taking notice for was those off-centered hits and if twist fate made a difference one of the most requested questions I was getting about twists face is can you see the twist face when you sit a little behind the ball amounts that is no you cannot see any curvature of the face that indicates there is anything different to a normal driver it is so subtle it is unreal and because of that I was not expecting to have loads of different ball flight characteristics and if I'm honest I can it didn't see a load of different characteristics in ball fly there was a couple of shots I want to tell you about that I've discovered on GC quad and now on the golf course so this was day one this was shot number two actually parts from a little bit from the toe and it went left of target so what I would normally see from bulge and roll it found fairway for me but it did travel left still and that was from the toe another shot that I hit this was more from height oh absolutely smash this shot and it went to the right of target so I'm seeing a little bit of inconsistency there but what you've always got to you factor in for this is that the face delivery where the face points and the path is going to have a little far greater effect on the outcome of the shot then twist face will actually have but I was trying to get some measurements on what twists face was doing and another shot this was shot five day one I hit one a little bit from the heel and I found the shot just to curve back towards middle now this was an interesting one because my face and my path were very neutral this club came through the ball is neutral like as I swing it and I hit the heel again not on purpose none of these shots took place on purpose and this curved a little bit to the right by only four yards so initial testing on day one I was like okay there's some signs that it's working there's some signs that it's not going to make a big difference whatsoever so let's look out on the golf course and this is where I saw some more interesting stats and some more interest in bore flights I found what I hit just my normal straight shot when I'm trying to hit a straight shot and I hit the middle or the toe or the heel it doesn't have a huge effect in fact it's almost a minimal I cannot see if there's any advantage or disadvantage to those twists face miss scented hits for example this shot here on number one at West likes this one went straight as a rocket I didn't try and draw it I didn't try and shape it but I caught the tote and it went dead straight down the fairway almost rate towards the green actually shot number two was a shot where I hit the toe and if you rewind the cliffs at first right this was severely from the toe and like a normal driver that I've been playing golf with for 20 odd years with bulging roll this missed fairway left would it miss fairway left more with bulging roll no I wouldn't say it would have done I understood it missed last just as much as it would have done with twists face so again I wasn't seeing massively changing ball flies the shots that stood out to me in this first day on the golf course testing will shots where I was purposely trying to draw it now purposely when I try and draw it I use the gearing effect I use the high toe as a way of creating the gearing effect between the ball and the club to actually get the ball shape and then tilting to the left more I use that so I settled to the right and I used that shot on this particular driver when I tried to hit that particular shot I found mixed results and I found a shot that for me didn't draw anywhere near as much I found a shot that went dead straight to where I was aiming but that's not what I was aiming for on that shot so I was looking up at the ball flight and going nah I'm not impressed with that because I wanted to hit a draw on that shot likewise when I tried to hit one a little bit more from there for a fade and I call it high toe because we're adding more loft to that height so I was actually over fade in it in fact it almost turned into a slice for me and this is where my thoughts on twists they started to come a little bit more kind of apparent an hour's light will hold on tell me - claiming everyone who hits the toe or as a blanket cover is closed face and the guy who hits the heel as an open face well I was proving this not to be the case on the golf course I was proving that you can hit with any orientation of face and hit anywhere on the clubface as a blanket cover the majority but might be the case for tailor-made but it's not everybody that's not conclusive but there doesn't mean I didn't hit some great drivers I absolutely smoked a few of them down there this was one on the 11th hole that formed me ladies golf course and I smashed it was actually playing with a friend who had the original m to a friend who I'm normally longer than that done and a friend on this occasion who hit it when 15 yards further than my brand new m3 so I was like hah okay a little bit and another shot that I hit for me ladies this was another shot when I tried to shave him from right to left and muck the way I normally hit my drawers look at height oh this did not draw an itch stage straight right this was a characteristic that I saw not only in on the golf course testing but also back in the Academy as well and I saw similar shots on day two and day three by also saw some phenomenal shots so this was day two shot number three and this just came out like a piece this was perfect great ball flight long consistent just felt amazing and the feel of this driver is sensational feeling the sound is just as good as the previous last two models of the m1 or m2 it has that dead noise it has that great flight I'm a big fan of the silver finish on the top of the crown many ants I spoke to some of my friends and some of the students I coach and a lot of people majority I would say would prefer the white I prefer personally this silver still in the board I think it looks really smart on hammerhead we did see signs that on bottom hits we saw the ball speed stay hot if I'm honest so even on a low strike here that I'm indicating on screen we still see the ball speed in that one five nine almost 160 ball speed so I have no issues with that hammerhead and we've seen hammerhead work with all the products before let's be honest hammerhead really is a combination of speed pocket which they used in the original m2 and if I'm honest I wouldn't be surprised if they've had some influence from jail break with what Callaway Burton do with epic and put these two ribs in there to help strengthen their head so hammerhead for me did work of low sensitives I didn't get punished on distance and I didn't get punished on fly I just found that the the strike just felt a bit horrible and then my summary on this why tract for me and the two weights probably just doesn't quite cut it I wouldn't mind seeing a third weight being put in this model I've seen Tour players already show pictures with three weights in here and I think that should have been the original setting this should have been three weights in here what I did find though is when I did move the weights forward yes it did reduce the spin what I wanted to see is if I put away into the draw setting and keep one forward would that eliminate that shot that was leaking off to the right well no I didn't see enough of a difference and if I'm honest two spin rate them for me just look up a little bit further up again which then I didn't want to have that trade-off so I kept those weights forward and I just had to unfortunately suffer with that shot when I hit height so trying to hit draw that it went straight right so mixed results I found that some shots it helps some shots it didn't better or worse than bet bulge and roll I think some golfers are gonna love it I think some golfers who use bulging roll like I use bulging roll I've been using it for 20-plus years it's going to take me a long time to get used to it or I'm never gonna get used to it and that is a big fault and I think that's going to be a big issue for a lot of people using this driver it's going to suit some it's going to suit others but not all let's get some of your questions and give you a final conclusive review of this m3 driver [Music] okay so let's answer the some of the questions coming in from the original video and first question was that was real actually a massive talking point was the why truck system is it fidgety let me let me tell you yeah it's a little bit the normal T truck weight system that we've seen on m1 drivers before that had a moveable weight front and back side to side and front and back that's probably a little bit easier to move around this particularly around this section of the drive around this back edge it's quite fidgeted to get it into the actual corners it's not as easy it's not as easy as it kind of would implies to be so in one way I don't mind that because I quite like the idea that the golfers buying this driver doesn't need tweak it too much it shouldn't have to be changing it loads get fit and then keep it there but it definitely is fidgety around that corner someone else that else asked about rattling delete rattle not once you've actually locked it in it doesn't rattle as you imagine on most weights they are now pretty much fine-tuned and once you click that bad boy in it in what I would like to have seen is an extra weight I think an extra third way in this driver would have made a massive difference and I'd love to see if that's gonna be an option that's added down the line so another question that was being fired in was is this m3 driver any better than last year's model and one when hit in the middle and from my findings I would say no I would say just as good at performing as the original I'm wrong I'm the m1 that came out last year I don't think the performance actually in distance and flight has changed an awful lot apart from just like saying new adjustability along the back I'm still seeing the similar ball speeds similar distances that we saw with m1 original so if you go and one original you might not need this driver unless you probably want to try it anyway but it's not that big of a difference between the two another question that kept coming in and I completely understand this is is this driver linked with the brand BMW and I completely get well our question keeps coming in because the branding of this driver so much like a BMW M brand it's unreal from everything I've been told I've tailor-made this there is no connection with this driver and BMW now whether BMW know that how close this gets to the bone it'll be interesting to see what the reactions like but there is no connection between this or the m4 with the brand BMW as far as we're aware so final conclusion my Rick says about this driver first question is would it go in my bag and from trooper told no unless unless something changes dramatically I can't see this product going in my bag and for the reasons of I use gearing effect I used that bulging roll to my advantage and I feel like that this driver particularly strips out a little bit away from me if it had original bulging roll would it go in my back there's more of a chance I would have probably put it in my bag at least played with it for a spell of time because droopy told I love the look of this driver I think it looks so good and I think it looks a better step up from last year's model of m1 but because of that the flights I was experiencing out on the golf course and on GC quad the flights of when I tried to hit a draw for me I don't feel like it suits my game and this is where this driver modern not many any other driver that I've probably known in my time product testing I think it's driving more than anything is one you absolutely have to test do not buy this driver if you're going to get this Drive do not buy it off the shelf without hitting it the reason I say that is because I think it's going to be so different for every single golfer that hits this driver I think it's got a wide range of abilities that that this driver could cater for but for me with this twist face you've got to know your strike patterns and you've got to know if you hit with the toe as an open-face that this driver might not work but on the flip side if you hit the driver off the toe the clothes face there is a chance that this might give some help but don't expect it to be a magic one that's going to find every fairway you can still hit bad shots with this driver $500 479 pounds it's an interesting idea it's got a concept that is fresh they're claiming it's fresh we've we have heard rumors that other brands have done it in the past but it's got it's got fresh idea fresh identity and I think this is gonna miss some golfers a little bit they want the shiny toy I would just love to seen an option where it would come in normal bulge and roll and face twist to give a catering for air Raghava that's all the planets thanks watching guys hopefully you enjoyed the video if you did hit that thumbs up one like the new styles review please let me know in the comments below and that was my full in-depth review of the TaylorMade m3 driver the m4 video will be coming very soon thanks watching guys we'll see you next time [Music]
What made the TaylorMade M3 Driver 460cc stand out is because of its twisted face design. This golf club also exhibits subtle contrasting curves from high-toe to low-heel for better and straighter shots.
We loved so many things about the M3 driver. It has a firm and powerful sound. A highly recommendable golf club especially for low-ball hitters.
