hi Mike Harris here and I'm down today for site Sports HQ in Guildford in Surrey testing out the new tailor-made m2 driver now m2 first came to market in early 2016 been a phenomenally successful Club both for club golfers and also on tour as well mats whether that's with the TaylorMade Tour staff or more recently more recent months the likes of Rory McIlroy Tiger Woods number the other nike former contracted players switching into tailor-made for last few events of the season that's incredible bit of PR for tailor-made there non-contracted guys particularly like Rory and Tiger playing the product so how do you improve upon as successful of product as m2 has been well tailor-made introducing the new m2 it's not a different name at all slightly different graphics on the sole slightly different look at address on the crown slightly different combination of the of the white leading edge and the multi material crown but really it's all about the performance benefits that TaylorMade have been tweaking and really we're talking about relatively small tweaks the engineers having to be very clever in what they do to make drivers go further and actually more realistically and more forgiving and I think that's key technology in the latest drivers that are out in the market more forgiveness what TaylorMade have done with the new m2 is they've made the speed pocket there in the sole three times more flexible than the 2016 m2 and then what the really interesting technology on the new m2 is what they call geo coup stick and it's a lot of work on the internal bits of the head to really make the sound really good and also part of that as well as this sort of lowered sole we can see it sort of drops in there got little cavity there what that does is that frees up some CC and the head of course drivers can only be 460 CC under the rules of golf so got to work within those parameters but by dropping the sole there that's allowed the engineers to increase the footprint of the head by 7% so when you put it down behind the ball it looks a bit bigger and it is a bit bigger and that again should help aid with forgiveness so I've been testing the driver on the GC to launch monitor with the HMT technology as well it's been really interesting I've been fitted for a lot of drivers over the last 10 years so I'm not going to get huge benefits out of modern technology because they've always been well fitted for previous drivers of whatever brand therefrom so I'm not seeing huge jumps in in yardage but what I definitely saw today with m2 and I tested it against the outgoing m2 is that the forgiveness levels are absolutely fantastic great thing about using hm t1 the foresight technologies is you see where you're hitting the ball on the face and believe you me I'm hitting the ball right across the face and I'm not really seeing a big drop-off in either ball speed or total distance carry yardage as well so as I say I think the key thing about modern technology and particularly for the m2 is the amount of forgiveness on offer I say versus the old m2 pretty similar numbers in terms of dispersion in terms of carry and total distance what was interesting is I did test the new m1 which features a lot of adjustability in the T trap you're able to move the center of gravity or weight closer to the face to bring help that sort of lower CG and certainly for me I put a lot of spin on my driver I can get it up for four and a half thousand revs easily m1 for me really allowed me to bring the spin down and then also I had a natural cut moving the weight into the draw setting I was probably hitting in the ball ten yards further in the air maybe 15 yards total carry because I could really dial in those spin characteristics I think it's crucial with them too that you go and get a fitting it's probably seen as you know less technical than the m1 but that doesn't mean you don't need a fitting remember that there are 30 different aftermarket shafts no up charge that you can get if you go and get custom fitted so others well says a really good selection of shafts available just off the shelf you would really be mad to not go and get a fitting remember these are expensive clubs I think the RRP on M 2 is going to be 369 pounds so that's a lot of money why would you not invest in a custom fitting if you're going to spend that amount of money get your performance get your launch really dialed in work with a PGA pro an expert custom fit er who'll be able to get the club head and shaft combination really working to your swing it really is about getting the most out of your swing with modern technology so new m2 from TaylorMade will be in the shops at the end of January 2017 m2 for tailor-made in 2016 is a fantastic product they really had to push themselves to up the performance I think they've produced some interesting new performance benefits with the G okay stick design so definitely want to put in your trend on a 2017 test list [Music]

hi guys it's Rick shields down here at crest Golf Academy and this is the first look and the first hit of the brand-new callaway a rogue driver underneath the head cover we see a mean-looking driver this is this has been designed with a element of just just aggression it looks by the way that the bottom of the golf club is designed and it features some familiar pieces of technology so jailbreak they said they've put it back in there with the rogue and made it better we'll see if that's the case air steps on the top to reduce air flow to make the driver faster and they brought this driver out in three settings so not only a standard rogue which I've got in my hand prior sub-zero model and even a draw model so they kind of bringing out three drivers at the same time it's a cater for really different ball flights the first thing that I noticed from the the look of the bottom this golf club is how symmetrical it is at the bottom you've got the rogue stamp straight through the middle and the rogue store is this idea that you know that Lincoln would jailbreak and the old you know it's rebellious almost is they're trying to push the barrier more with rogue and underneath we see this lovely shaping of the golf club around the border we have this kind of almost what I would describe is more like a teal blue coloring as opposed to the green that we saw in the epic and on top just a much bigger footprint than the Callaway epic this is still a 460cc as epic was - it just looks way bigger than way to design the head and I'll be honest the the drivers growing on me and looks even from the very very first time I saw it because for me that the blue just didn't quite catch my eye but already after just looking at it two or three times it just looks awesome like really really good looking driver I think they've designed it in such a way that it's gonna appeal to a huge amount of golfers from one seeing visually and I'll and so much then I gave it a real I gave their pick a massive and kind of bad-mouthing from the name and that kind of grew on me to a degree a rogue doesn't offend me I actually really like look of it and and it just looks like a cool-looking driver now the things that are different the road does not have an adjustable weights kind of sliding weight on the back where standard epic did they've just got a fixed weight because what Carla is saying they've the research that really a lot of golfers don't move that way so why feature it so instead they thought well instead of featuring it let's just bring out sub-zero version and the draw version one thing that Callaway did tell me though is the rogue is not a direct replacement of epic epic will still be in the family Lionel which I find strange at the moment and I would imagine epic he's gonna fizzle out if rogue is successful but they're saying that epic is still very much in the family this is not can this is not a new version it is just a different version with regards to Jailbreak which was mega successful ashes the only thing people were talking about drivers they said they've enhanced it and they said they what they've seen in jailbreak is that they've made the titanium bars more in an hour shut hourglass shape which they're claiming and we're going to test this in the full review that's offering more ball speed than ever before I can't wait to test that theory carbon crown which they've now reduced even more weight to stick it on the bottom and that's pretty much everything that's going on like I said the team back up with Boeing for these steps on the head to reduce air flow and apparently making the ball faster same face that they've used in the epic it's just a smart looking driver let's have a look at the sub-zero version too because really the big difference by the way head cover if you've not seen this already out on tour every every colorway player seems to be carrying these around already the big rogue head covers the sub-zero model is definitely a more squashed version of the 460 it's a little bit more condensed I would say more like the shape of epic sub-zero Asheer which again I used for a long time and this hasn't change the awful lot you've still got the weight that goes front and back so if you want to put the ball wait for that it's going to reduce the spin weight back it's going to increase the spin jailbreak smaller head design still on the speed steps and it's still got the adjustable neck that Callaway for many many years and actually like the squat head in that rogue sub-zero it looks so smart I can't wait to hit it and then the finals club that the bringing out it's a draw version the draw version you've got the weight more in the heel and again what they've claimed is that because of that sliding way it was a lot of a lot of weight was going into that sliding weight mechanism because they've got rid of that that can redesign the face differently the head differently and the shove that way right into the heel to give the most raw biased so there are loads of shaft options that Rover coming out in as well and these are just two that I'm testing this is even flow this is a project X shaft and then there's the hardest hazardous which has been a mega popular shaft quite a low spin shaft but these are the options that coming in and they've got loads of different options in the shaft settings - now looking at prices for these drivers again something I'm going to talk about a little bit more moving into 2018 us pricing you're looking at around four hundred and ninety nine dollars for the drivers and in the UK you're looking for about four hundred and eighty pounds for the drivers around that mark and that is how they're coming out right now in the brand new so to also accompany this year's driver line-up Cal they brought out rogue fairway woods and hybrids which now feature jailbreak so they've brought in the technology they've had in drivers and been successful with with drivers into the 3-wood and the hybrid it'd be interested see if there's any more ball speed coming off those as well also there are four sets of rogue irons which I'm going to talk about soon and we've got the mark daddy for wedges all coming your way very soon so let's give these a hit rogue Cal a rogue first hit the staff with a standard first so first hit with the rogue driver oh I'm gonna go with standard rogue first I'm not fine tuned this yet so the numbers I'm not gonna show all the numbers I'm just going to give it a smack I'm gonna hit the sub-zero version - I do like that look behind the ball it is a good looking driver and I definitely see it as being a bigger footprint er epic it looks sweet it looks mean let's give it a hit okay well I was a loud crack to come out well again I'm not fine-tuned it yet but that's it's a good start for the rogue felt good it felt it felt different to epic in a could only be described as almost like a cracking noise it's a it's a it's a little bit of a sharp noise felt good off the first hit like I've not wanting to do with this prompt testing into 2018 is give the F hitter the rogue standard ounce of zero a full two-week test before I give my full review stay tuned for that subscribe to channel so you don't miss it it's got a little bit the opposite way but not a bad hit again probably just missing fairway good first feels off the face different sound to an epic 21 yards left my I just missed a fairway right let's split the difference of those two first hits and I'm okay with these these are these are pretty good first hits let's move into the Sub Zero version next which is kind of lower spin slightly more squashed inversion different noise to epoch decent results looking forward to testing it a little bit further okay so moving into Sub Zero I feel like I've got the weight at the back I've not moved it forward I kind of when I played epic Sub Zero I didn't move it further forward so this is Sub Zero rogue but in the weight back position definitely a more squashed compact look and I forgot to mention on the road these little speed steps on top almost like eyebrows those are my eyebrows on the top of the golf club which is a funny little look to it right sub-zero let's see what the rogue has to offer I'll ask the noise I like to hear it's come out a little bit flat five flighted but tell you what that's the noise that I've become accustomed to hit him with epic like I've not fine-tuned the laughs that might just come out I took low on the low side stay tuned for the full review and I kind of tweak the lofts and the weights if need be came out with no spin and super fast ball speed one six four ball speed a little bit up the right but is crushed absolutely it's a fading one and I found that with epic I found it a bit faded only if that's gonna be the same thing that I find with rogue sub zero I would have missed their way but tell you what I'd have been down there it's got one more with Sub Zero rogue it's a good-looking had I prefer the size of this the way it's been kind of constructed these aren't dissimilar two shots are normally a little bit draw a little bit push it not too concerned about Direction more anything to first hit and get the response from it I like the sound of this one more than I like the rogue I think it feels good it sounds so much better and look so much better but I'm going to test them both and give you my feedback in a full review in about two weeks time I'm also going to test the irons that are coming up soon stay tuned for that I want to know what questions you have about the rogue as well comment below with your questions and I'll try and answer as many as I can in the full review to try and come up with some kind of important topics to talk about with the road driver first look first here tick in the box is another not the straightest blast down to me more than the club but the performance so far and the figures were pretty impressive on the first hit stay tuned lots more to come callaway rogue new for 2018 I cannot wait to test these for two weeks and come back with the findings thanks for watching guys we'll see you next time

so this is my full in-depth review of the new tailor-made m4 driver ever this driver in my bag for the last two weeks I've been out on the Gulf Coast with this driver I have tested this driver on multiple different days usually we see quad and probably wanted to give you the most in-depth review of this product I'm going to answer your questions in this video and I'm also going to give the m4 driver my final conclusion so tell me claim they're still packing as much technology into this driver as possible but it does come at a cheaper price point this driver roughly around 100 pounds cheaper / $80 cheaper it features twist face still as the m3 does so a way of helping find more fairways on off since it hits hammerhead technology to keep the ball speed hot or low hits but instead of the weight track along the back the white rack this technology which is a debatable word to hours if trooper told is gee acoustic and this is a way of designing they had differently for it to sound more explosive there is a weight port here at the back it does the adjustable sleeve its loft like the m3 house and it still looks pretty awesome let's show the data and give you some ideas of what I found when I hit this driver on GC quad and out on the golf course too [Music] so m4 testing I tested this on three different occasions in DC quad here at the golf academy and to check out the golf course and played with it a couple of times first I'm gonna talk a little bit about my findings about the tech and certainly the twist space I found it to be a little bit different to the m3 twist face I'll explain why I think that's the case let's dive through the actual numbers first of the testing process these are three different days ten shots plus on each of the days so we got we've got my optimum performance day to rope on screen these are all the performance data from last 12 months of testing drivers so we now bring in the m4 numbers into this chart and we see a couple of surprising factors but the big numbers are actually bang on target so we look at the carry distance that is in that optimum performance range that I like to see with the driver just under two hundred and seventy nine yards and for a total distance of two nine eight I would see and I saw this throughout the full testing with the m4 the ball speed was a fraction lower than I was getting with m3 spin rate was a touch high it wasn't it wasn't about 2,600 but I managed to drop it down to 2,300 by actually lowering the loft I actually cranked a loft down by 0.66 of a degree to bring this 9.5 degree head into a eight point nine degree head and I brought those spin figures down a little bit the m4 like the m2 and the m1 in the past the m4 has always been a slightly higher spin model I've used the same shaft this is the ten size shaft 70 gram X blanks so for me the numbers on board a two was solid nothing outstanding but nothing that was too disappointing these are all my club data so we see here club head speed smash factor I was slightly hitting more on the way up more than I ever adduct testing so that might have been why I was just presenting a little bit more loft and maybe just hitting it a touch higher than what I normally see but it wouldn't I did crank the loft even lower but actually then didn't like the ball flight I found it come out too flat I didn't like that ball flight so I kept it at that kind of eight point nine degrees so all the product testing actually in Academy it hit the criterion no problem at all it did get an approve in that category but again nothing outstanding but let's talk about the main features twist face now this drive of the m4 because they've shaved more or the back of the driver out it's actually a little bit of a deeper face and because of that as I said the club behind the ball I would say the twist face on the m4 just ever so slightly more noticeable I seem to see a little bit more of the toe flaring outwards a little bit more loft a little bit more outwards that I was recognizing in the m3 the other big thing are definitely noted without question was the loudness of this driver the G acoustic desired across the back the way they've shaped differently definitely makes this driver sound much louder I actually want to get to a point where come measure driver sound and actually measure the volume that the frequency it's coming off at if you have any suggestions of how I can do that I'd love to hear your thoughts below but really just straight away it was an ear piercing ly loud sound someone liked it some will hate it I was in the camper hating it I actually preferred the m3 sound so then we get back to this twist face and did it see any difference of performance out on the golf course this is my little red book a testing made a loads of notes when I tested it and these are my findings on some of the shots that hit off-center so as a generalization over the twists face I found this particular driver for the way I hit the ball a little bit high toe and a little bit open I found with the m4 that the results seemed to favor more of a shot that would go to the right I found shops with the m4 to leak a little bit more to the right and it gave me no alteration spell to crank any weights or anything to put it into a setting that's different and the only way I can put that down to potentially with it being a slightly deeper head and that toe flare beam seems just a little bit more pronounced well I caught that height oh I did see shots that leaked off to the right I'm really on paper that's what Taylor made a claim in there doing more of if you hit toe they've seen in results that the ball will go further left and miss target left well certainly I didn't find shots from hitting off the toe that I went any further left in fact I was struggling to hit it left off those toe shots so in one degree of that's of bonus for players who hit the toe and go left but for someone like me who hits the toe and particularly draws it I was struggling to get that shape that I require an ad desire from normal bulge and roll and some of the shots I saw here this was actually day one of testing and this was shot number three and I absolutely nailed this there was no question about the performance on a good here is exceptional when I got him right and it was just awesome nailed the third shot but then we saw shots where and I hit the toe on shot five and it kind of found the fairway no I wasn't massively impressed but it got back to fairway so shot number eight day one this was one that really kind of shocked me and really started to make me question about twists face on this particular shot I swung through the golf ball unbelievably straight my path to my face was super straight and I've hit location that's height oh this ball finished for me twenty eight point seven yards to the right and that seems like a long way considering everything was square with normal baldon role I would typically see a shot that might draw back toward middle if not go further left but when I presented everything square and hit the toe it went to the right for me and that was a shock moment I must admit and but then again it back to a couple shots later where shot him at an absolutely screamed Oh nailed it so that was kind of interesting to me I felt like it had a more of a right biased while I didn't hit it well and the whole idea of twists face is to stop the ball curving left too far and I'll tell you what I would say that I didn't see the ball curving left too far after toe hits in fact I almost saw a little bit too much of the opposite effect so now I'm on the golf course and played golf with the m4 played twice on the golf course a couple of testing courses and the 10th hole West blanks I tried to mulch the drill I've hit it from the toe and it's missed a fairway a long way to the right and this one I want to remember with this twist face to play will still override everything that happens and believe me when I say I can still hit this driver and you will be able to still hit this driver our bounds it's not a miracle cure it's not gonna make everybody hit the ball straight I think it's gonna help some golfers but not particularly everybody but then the the very next shot I'm absolutely crunched out the middle again and it gone like a rocket ship it is flown I think we measured it 350 plus yards but then every time I tried to draw it 13 told tried to draw it couldn't 15 cold tries to fade it hit the toe and it over fade faded and I thought when I looked up at the flight on 15 I thought that I was gonna go too far to the left but it stayed relatively straight and if anything slightly over faded so really twist face for me wasn't doing a great deal and don't forget these are all shops that I've not purposely eight from the time I heal these are just organic shots that took place then I took it around for me ladies golf course and one of the tightest golf courses that I could ever use a driver from but I give it a go second hole I hit towed it went left just to clarify that twist face isn't in the savior world the player is still going to override it fourth hole try to evade hit the toe and it fade it too far but on the eighth hole absolutely annihilated it again there's dead straight down the fairway so it feels like it's got a mixed personality and I know I don't hit shot straight all the time but I felt like some shots that I hit in certain locations on this face I was expecting to look them and see one ball flight and then I saw a completely different ball flight and that was that was somewhat of a concern for me and a couple of the shots that I'm noticed on decent quad was day two shot turner hit it absolutely out the screws when I got it right it was a flying machine but when I didn't quite get it right and I didn't match up to what TaylorMade was saying this drivers gonna fix I found not great results bad results in my opinion for this way I hit the girl shot and in the final day of testing hit one shot high toe when try again open-faced but I hit another one which was a toe here and it went left with a closed face so just found I found mixed results very mixed results and for me somewhat unexpected results and this is where I found that the m4 was way more of a fade type Golf Club because of the way that that flair opens to the right but if I found it fade another golfer that hits a different part of the face might find it a completely different ball entirely and this is where I see completely with the m3 m4 range that you've got to test it as a golfer because everybody is individual and I mean that everybody is individual and to put a ball I can keep cover on the fact that a guy who hits toh hai toh is going to be close face that's not always the case and the guy who hits a girl lady hits low heel and they're always going to be open no that's not the case now what I did see good signs off was hammer head again was doing a good job when I hit low hits I didn't see a huge drop-off in ball speed but with hammer head we've seen that work in drivers before saw it work in the original m2 with the speeds pocket they've just added some ribs and I think I said it's a bit of a competitor for epic but for me I didn't see any drop-off in ball speed nothing noticeable off those low hits right let's get some of your questions we've got some great ones coming along some general topics to talk about and then we get my final conclusion of the tale made m4 driver [Music] it's such a different noise om3 still and right questions that have come in from you guys the first thing and this was quite a hot topic actually and I thought I must admit more people might know about this between M 1 and M 2 is why is them for cheaper and does it drop off in performance well the big thing for me really the only thing that makes it cheaper is that you don't have as much adjustable weights there's no adjustable track at the back this is really the only thing you can adjust is the loft sleeve and that is pretty much it regards to performance actually performance on paper I didn't really see any massive differences apart from the fact that the weight is a little bit further back therefore you're gonna see a little bit of a higher spin as a as a generalization that's not again always gonna be the case so really it's cheaper just because you can't adjust it as much as M 3 so another really common question was is it any better than last year's M 2 so again just on generalization of testing I don't see that much of a difference in performance looks wise I think it looks a lot better than last year's M 2 the way that it's way more symmetrical at the bottom I'm a big fan of the silver top I know many people aren't a big fan of they actually prefer the white but I really loved that bottom way more symmetrical and silver top so personally I think it looks better than last year's M 2 but still in my opinion it doesn't look as good as the first ever generation M - I still her it's one of the best looking drivers ever made and this doesn't quite stack up to it from my opinion I think if you've got Russia's m1 or m2 or the year before I'm one of them - are you gonna see much of a difference in performance probably not but if you do fit in tell them its category in the fact of being a closed face high toe or open facial and Anna Healey sharp you might benefit from very small amount so that's the only way you can work out as if you're actually tested but for me on paper performance is not going to be that much difference between this and so big kind of question would would this club go in my bag and the answer is no not unless something dramatically changes again for me there was a couple of reasons why it wouldn't go in the bag as much as I love the look of this driver and as soon as I ripped the head cover off and I saw it I was like oh yeah so much better look I like the feel I'm not the biggest fan of the sound it's a little bit on the high side all outside and then the technology with the twist face I just didn't feel like for the way I hit the golf ball it suits my game but that doesn't mean that's a blanket for everybody I just think that I may be in a slightly different alternative where I use the gearing effect to my advantage I use bulton relative to my gains a lot of other golfers will not they won't know that particularly to the case I'm a little bit more fine-tuned to the levels of strike where I'm hitting the face and I see and expect different ball fights from those locations I would have loved to have seen this year and I'd love to have seen this but they would have been slated for doing it is if they would have brought out a conventional m3 and m4 and then brought out or at the same time a twist face version but wow that the backlash would have been tremendous and so for me it wouldn't go in the bag I think for the price point it's a if you can you don't need to be adjusted then great you might want to slip into m4 rather than m3 but I cannot stress this enough for these two brands for these two golf clubs for these m3 and m4 you have to test these before you even attempt to think about buying them because there are gonna be golf as it suits but there are gonna be golfers it does not suit thanks for watching guys right guys we're going to be testing the brand-new Callaway drivers we've got two new drivers for the Callaway family got the Callaway great Big Bertha old name brand new driver and the Callaway Big Bertha alpha double black diamond 816 it's the brand new double black diamond and we test them both on separate reviews I'm going to start off with the great big bertha so old name brand new driver great big bertha was a driver that dominated when the big sized heads came out originally and i think they're probably trying to bring that name a little bit back into the into the game trying to bring that dominance and maybe back into the game a little bit the way you can change tell the difference between the two drivers even with the head cover on great rebirth that silver stripes and silver writing and the Alfa's got black stripes black writing they've stuck with the kind of boxing-glove effect head cover time to get you still a little bit more now it's kind of everyone's doing them aren't they really so suppose book buying all that so Callaway Big Bertha greatly bertha and this looks ridiculously amazing from the looks wise on a shelf at looks like yeah you know what I need to hit that golf club because it kind of looks a bit almost like it's been comics almost car tuned the bottom of the golf club really like a big lightning strike hit in the back of it really crazy effects along the back they've got perimeter weighted so the weight here along the back with primitive weights in so you can move this weight to a draw path all the way to a fade on neutral change the loft as always and go up up I think it's two degrees with it you can go up up two and down one black top of the head with the normal Callaway crown and then quite a silver face which I think behind the ball looks awesome to give it a whack tell you bit more about at the moment then we'll test the Alpha as well separately what's great behind the ball go out gt2 real golf balls let's give it a wallop see what it does so I've got this set in neutral at moment I wouldn't hate to put it in draw and I probably maybe even put it in fade eventually that's quite an impressive stuff that's the hut I chosen data towards the end as well but 309 total distance to 8 for carry I'll show you a lot more data but towards the end like say I set it to 10 degrees as well because my normal Drive at the moment nine point nine well it's only fair to set it in the same loft as that I've got this in the speed of 665 extra stiff shaft that was nice what I like about it behind the ball with the silver head so we're faced are it black head it kind of makes the loft look more you know it's not still 10 degrees but it stands out the loft not for me makes it look more jet more inviting more generous to hit and because of that on a hit a go what a nice flight light has got same shop same distance a little bit further like that's big that's up there that is definitely up there I'll show you some spin numbers I said towards the end and I didn't advantage with the way is you can adjust it you know for different golfers if you are hitting a shot that Navy leaked a bit to the right move that over to the heel to make that toe move over faster it's going to make a small difference I've got it almost Central right behind the center spot you know what the last thing I do like about this I thought you'll show you some image of this the Callaway symbol on the toe is actually engraved in that's really smart look that sink actually in great other and just notice that it's actually engraved into the head it's got the fastball speed it's got this rib cage along the bottom quite like it's a few more well there are three very similar golf shots I simulates just slow down a bit there to bear with so I'm at my simulate just slow down a bit but best hit yet 316 only go two more and I'll show the numbers so we can see all of the data to Ozzie I'm just going to hit a couple more what I like what I mean just about this drivers this is not particularly the one that suited to the most adjustability the Alfa the world white diamond 816 that's got more features to it so stay tuned for that review as well I've got a couple of the fit well I've got the fairway woods to match these drives as well so I'm going to test them on their own reviews that flight is lovely it just seems to be hit just go smash up there right look at some numbers I'm gonna hit one more and then we'll see what the the great big birth has done after those few shots okay so there's the shots five shots or similar shapes or similar flights I said I generally hit with a draw shape anyway so maybe I've got a bit more room in the end there where could shove that way even more into the what would be the total neutralize it off for me fade it more and write travelogue I was mightily impressive it was and I must admit I don't think this on paper is the one that potentially should suit me well I think maybe the the double black diamond might suit me better so stay tuned definite for that review and this is kind of the one that would I don't know maybe to cover the the widest spectrum of players it's not got the same minut adjustability is the double black diamond it's kind of simpler adjustability that means that may well well work right go by speed 114 very good now it is a decent length shaft that I feel it feels longer than my ping I'm not got a measurement on it I might put some graphic give you a measurement upon screen that feels quite long on 40 ball speed is good one six-six very very healthy launch angle 13.2 I've got to certain in 10 degrees but the spin rate is 2190 after those five shots and what I liked about the spin rate is they'd hardly fluctuated from a high spin rate at 2,300 to my lowest spin rate at 2065 those numbers hardly fluctuated at all I didn't get ones that really spun up or ones that dipped even lower than 2,000 if I went up a little bit in the loft to get the launch I would then sacrifice that spin that spin would go up a touch I think that's a really good setting for me to have it in I could maybe even go down to 9 possibly with this well I think tens of the right number for this carry distance 288 yards of carry the longest being to 9 1 and the show it's been 283 it's a front to back dispersion was really good I hit those 5 really nice I had a really strong tall distance average 314 average now I've had the ping Jie 30 in my bag for a while and those numbers are starting to kind of creep up on that I might do a little bit of a head title look be very interested as well 314 the longest being 317 the shortest being 309 big big hit now I did shape in my shapes from right to left in general just yeah I can't say much more about it they've kind of I don't know whether that great Big Bertha tag does kind of take me back to having the Big Bertha member having I'm having the big birth and that seemed like a massive head like a really big head it wasn't coming back to these days it's tiny I'll tell you what be a great head sad and it's definitely definitely one that I can do if I can get hold of one is a great Big Bertha new against the old great Big Bertha yes that's got to be done that big feel great comparison see what the numbers are like head to head on that and they still bring the biggest Big Bertha out of this I don't think they can obviously can make it any bigger and I don't know if it just rekindles that bit of a love affair with the old kind of big it looks apart I love the comic look at the bottom and yet it still got a bit of a classic look with the engraving and the slidable weights and yeah very very nice products very nice driver right to go double black diamond alpha 816 why not stay tuned I'm going to review on 8 Things To Consider When Looking For The Best Golf Driver For High Handicappers (A Quick Buyers Guide)
Head Size Matters
When you have a high handicap you want a driver that provides power and distance.
And that’s why head size is so important.
If you have a handicap above 20, stay away from head sizes that are in the smaller range. You should instead focus on a driver that provides maximum forgiveness.
For that you will need to go with a driver that has the biggest head legally allowed.
At the time of this writing the maximum club head size permitted by the USGA is 460cc.
While most manufacturers will stick to this limit, as always we recommend you do your own due diligence before buying any club.
The level of forgiveness offered by a driver is determined by the shape of the head. If the head has a perimeter weighted design that means it is shallow and wide.
This is because all of the weight will be dispersed to the sides of the club face.
A golfer with a high handicap will find it very difficult to get the sweet spot of the club to connect with the golf ball on a consistent basis.
Investing in a driver with a bigger head will increase your chances of being able to hit the sweet spot on a more consistent basis.
Once you get used to hitting the sweet spot with the bigger head and your handicap improves, you can then switch your focus from power and distance to accuracy.
Driver Head Material Matters
Now that the golf driver industry has been taken over by the aerospace industry there really aren’t a lot of options when it comes to the type of materials used to manufacturer golf club heads.
The three most common materials now being used to make driver heads are stainless steel, composite alloys, and titanium.
Let’s briefly discuss each one:
If you’re on a tight budget stainless steel is the way to go. Not only it is very affordable, but it is also very durable.
One thing to be aware of is that stainless steel club heads aren’t as forgiving as club heads made using other materials such as titanium.
They will however still do the job that you need them to do.
Composite alloys are the best option for those who have a mid range budget. The performance they offer is similar to what you would get with a titanium driver, which we will discuss next, at a much better price point.
Titanium is easily the most expensive material out of the three options. Titanium driver heads also provide the best performance.
The great thing about titanium is that it is extremely light weight. That means high handicappers can have a large driver head without the club weighing them down.
Titanium drivers are also very forgiving which again is a great thing for high handicappers.
Shaft Material Matters Too
Driver head material isn’t the only material that matters. Shaft material also matters.
Shafts are usually made out of either steel or graphite.
Let’s briefly discuss each one:
Steel shafts are perfect for those who are looking for better control and better precision right out the gate.
The superior control provided by steel shafts ensures you don’t lose too much when it comes to power and club head speed.
However, steel shafts are very heavy and have the potential to cause your swing to slow down. As a result the club head would have a lower speed and the shot would be less powerful.
Because of this steel shafts are not suitable for golfers with high handicaps.
More experienced golfers with decent swing action can handle this type of shaft much better than a beginner.
Because of their flexibility graphite shafts are extremely popular amongst high handicappers.
This type of material is so flexible that when you swing the club the shaft actually bends a bit.
This creates what is known as the whiplash effect and it causes your swing speed to increase once you make contact with the ball.
This of course is very beneficial for beginners and high handicappers.
The final speed of your swing will be determined by the amount of flex in your driver. It also depends on your own personal strength and how hard you can swing the club.
Every player is different and will have a different swing speed. With graphite you will be able to choose the flex option that works best for you.
Flex options range from ultra stiff to regular.
Do You Need Adjustable Features?
These days adjustable features are common place. Especially when it comes to the top notch golf drivers.
Adjustable features such as adjustable lofts and movable weights allow you to tweak the dynamics of a club to suit your personal needs and requirements.
But the question still remains, do you actually need these adjustable features?
In one word no, most adjustable features aren’t necessary for high handicappers. As a matter of fact, messing around with them can actually hinder your progress if you don’t know what you are doing.
However, just because a driver has an abundance of adjustable features doesn’t mean you should ignore it.
Especially if the driver provides the right amount of forgiveness.
If you aren’t comfortable using the adjustable features you can simply leave them at the default settings.
Once your game improves, and you feel more confident, you can start tweaking the settings.
You will find that many golfers of all experience levels will invest in adjustable drives for no other reason than they are the most popular option.
So don’t be afraid to leave the setting untouched if you decide to invest in a driver with adjustable features.
As a golfer with a high handicap you will find that moveable weights aren’t a feature that you will need.
On the other hand however, the adjustable lofts feature can prove to be very beneficial once you have improved your handicap.
In order to achieve better distance and launch height, high handicappers need a higher loft height than what is offered on regular drivers.
Being able to adjust the height of your driver can help you improve your handicap at a much faster pace.
What Is The Ideal Loft Angle?
This sort of falls in line with the question of adjustable features.
Most modern day drivers feature a hosel that allows you to change the setting using a screw mechanism.
The hosel is located at the heel of the club and the settings can be adjusted between 4-6 degrees.
For example, if the default loft of a driver is 11 degrees, you might be able to adjust it to an 8, 9, or 13 degree loft angle.
Please note you must have a driver that has an adjustable loft to be able to make these adjustments.
So now the question is what would be the best loft angle for a high handicapper?
The answer is it all depends.
Your swing speed and attack angle is what will ultimately determine what loft angle will work for you.
However, generally speaking high handicappers will do well with a loft angle of 11 degrees or more.
As you improve you can adjust the loft to between 9-11 degrees. Anything below 9 degrees is reserved for golfers who have really fast swing speeds.
What Is The Ideal Shaft Flex?
When it comes to shaft flex there are 5 different classifications. You have Ladies (L), Seniors (A), Regular (R), Stiff (S), and Extra Stiff which consists of XS, XXS, and XXXS.
Ladies and Seniors are the least stiff options and are perfect for golfers who have a swing speed below 85 miles per hour.
Please understand that flex classification has absolutely nothing to do with age or gender. They are simply the method manufacturers use to name flex grades.
Female golfers tend to perform best with Senior or Regular shafts. Male golfers tend to do best with Senior grade shafts because of the slower swing speeds.
Regular shaft grades are ideal for those who have a swing speed between 85-95 miles per hour. If you have a faster swing speed opt for a stiffer flex grade.
How Much Should You Spend?
Price tends to be the most common concern for people when it comes to purchasing golf drivers.
One question you should ask yourself is whether or not it’s worth it to spend thousands of dollars on a piece of equipment that you will more than likely have to upgrade in the near future.
Since you are a high handicapper it more than likely means you are new to the game of golf. Due to your lack of experience we recommend you purchase your first set of clubs for as cheap as possible.
If you can, get them from the second hand market so you can save even more money.

How Many Drivers Do You Really Need?
The reality is most high handicappers cannot hit the driver. Because of this you might not need to start off with one in your bag.
A hybrid or 3 wood will give you the best possible chance of getting to the fairway off the tee. The hybrid and 3 wood are also a lot more comfortable to hit than a driver.
Even still, if you are confident you can swing a driver than there is no reason you shouldn’t invest in one.
With that being said, there really is no need to have more than one driver since most are adjustable. Unless of course you are in the process of trying several out to see which one works best.

forgiving driver of 2018 is in my list I want you to do this now no cheating no waiting to the end of the video let's see if you're on the same wavelength as myself okay so coming in number three of the most forgiving drivers of 2018 we have the TaylorMade m4 driver now the m4 driver is obviously part of the M range I certainly thought the m3 driver although the head looked a little bit nicer I enjoyed the smaller shape wasn't quite forgiving even with those weights pushed back it didn't seem to maintain its ball speed and dispersion off sent it as well as the TaylorMade m4 does the reason the TaylorMade m4 is so forgiving is with the carbon composite crown the thin face the vanilla to make this clubs so light a lot of the weight has been pushed into the back of the head here moving CG back in the head and allowing me and allowing higher ball speeds on off centre hits and also less dispersion on poor swings the Hammerhead technology in the head also allows for greater ball speed all in all I think this is a nice simple driver I think the m3 is a little bit too complicated for a lot of handicappers if you're a low handicapper and you wanted to get enough spin rate down etc the m3 might be the one to go for as you can move the weights around another aspect of the TaylorMade m4 tailor-made offer the TaylorMade m4 b-type draw-tite basically that's an empty slice type the weight is moved more to the heel in order to help you square that club face up a little bit easier if you struggle with that dreaded slice if that is a shot that plagues your golf game that may be an option for you for me the third most forgiving driver of 2018 has to be the TaylorMade m4 so that was number three what's coming in at number two on my list of the three most forgiving drivers for midday and the cappers of 2018 to enroll please in it number two I don't physically have one to show you because we've sold out of them is the Callaway rogue the Callaway rogue is a fantastic Club I really enjoyed reviewing it I really enjoyed comparing it to the m3 to the ping Jie 402 many other drivers I found the forgiveness and off centre hits thanks to the jailbreak technology was just ridiculous the nice light head and again thin face allowed for fantastic ball speeds and also allowed for the CG to move back in the head similar to them for as you can see with the weight back again Callaway offer sub-zero version of this driver so if you lower handicappers we wanted to get that ball flight down would you spin rates get a little bit more distance that will be for you but the standard Callaway row comes in number two on my list of forgiving drivers for 2018 similar to the TaylorMade m4 also callaway offer a draw-tite so again wait move to the he'll help you square the club face up slow the heel down toe catches up all of the above Club face should be square and get rid of that dreaded slice again I thought the standard Callaway rogue was fantastic which driver is number one I'm going to give you a clue it's in one of these two head covers in one hand at a standard ping g400 in the other hand at the ping Jie 400 max which one do you think it's gonna be you guessed it ping Jie 400 max comes in at number 1 on my 2018 most forgiving drivers list boldface the massive head it all screams forgiveness well I tested this driver I couldn't believe how forgiving it was on off centre hits initially I got my hands on one of our members drivers he since giving it to his son who is a high handicapper purely the cast of the forgiveness it offered on off centre hits look at the size of this club face it's absolutely huge and again a similar theme with these forgiving drivers we have the tungsten weight in the back here the head's really big the faces are thin the heads are light yes we have the turbulence on top and the butterfly effect and all that kind of thing or dragonfly effect should I say butterfly effect was a film I believe of Ashton Kutcher's it anyway none of that really interests me I don't see how that plays a massive role but one thing ping have released ahead much bigger than the standard G 400 again if you're wanting a low spin model if you're a lower handicapper the ping Zhi 400 LS deck will be for you it will go further so long as you can keep that spin rate high enough to get launching for me the most forgiving driver for mid to high handicappers of 2018 has to be the ping Jie 400 max when ping first released the G 400 it like a fantastic Club but a lot of high handicappers were saying actually this head's too small I'm not comfortable with this head wide when we released a smaller head in the ping Jie 400 ping kept is all guessing and this was why okay everyone there you have it from me they are my top three forgiving High Handicap Driver Fitting
okay guys welcome back and we're here for the first video of our new C's with the higher handicappers second video the first first one cuz we didn't have a high handicapper we had a really talented guy kid known he was a hot in high handicapper so this is this is the first time you've had a student in with us who genuinely has a high handicap and we're delighted to have Sam with us yep so Sam is but he's a legit 20 handicap you got a little bit lower at times so a really good consistent player at that level but someone that I think could really benefit from fitting the driver for sure and we're probably gonna look at some other clubs with Sam as well but yeah it's a perfect example of kind of really good launch conditions that we can improve exactly exactly you guys have been asking for this and we're listening and this is exactly where this C's is going to go it's going to be the 15 to 20 handicap range that work taken throughout the bag so we're really thrilled have Sam with us today and yes we're gonna kind of have a look through his bag and see how the same makeup is and and I see what we can do to improve it sir so Sam let's let's chat a little bit about your driver I was doing a little blueprinting before we started I haven't chatted with you that wanted to leave it to where the camera was running but your driver is not the stock ping driver is it no it's been modified then shaft I believe it's a little shorter yep so it has been modified okay so it's down to 44 inches so you've taken an inch and a half off of the length of this one so just trying to get the control back obviously so this is gonna be really interesting because this is something that you know people go oh I want to head out a little bit a little bit straighter I've haired that shorts or shafts again help me do that help me hit I didn't know you had done that well that's why I never mentioned anything is that when I was taking the measurements is great yes this is fantastic so the thing is so Sam's use not a ping g30 yep 10 degree straight flight technology the sft head right stock is that a draw biased head draw by a little internal waiting in the heel trying to get face to rotate low more and fix a little bit of a fade strokes like okay so Sam I'm using the standard shaft the the ping shaft in there with the stock head haven't cut that shaft down a little bit no one ever put weight back in the head did this huh no I don't believe so okay okay so the swing weight on this is c3 super light super light Wow okay so ping design their own shafts to go in in their heads yep they when they design the heading okay which shaft profile will complement this design that were coming up with them for the last few years the really rate with this counterbalance and self idea with the shaft so a little bit higher balance point trying to make the head feel a little bit lighter okay okay so Sam has the original counterbalance shaft that came in that yep and it's short right so you have a double whammy of a short Club plus a counterbalance shaft makes it thing super light right so for me when I'm looking at I'm going to be trouble so that's a consistency issue right off the bat astray and maybe a little ball speed problem ball speed problem leakage everywhere here okay so we know all this stuff no but no I that's why you're here that's that's variant yeah yeah so you know that's that's the thing when we make these modifications to even a standard set up we could understand the consequences of the balance of the golf club making sure that the club is still gonna perform to its potential making it short or is one thing but there's a reason the swing weight system yes and it's trying to get you know maximum consistency and all that stuff so all that being said Sam it tells about it tells about the flight what are you happy with what you're not happy with well I've been struggling with with the driver I'm not obviously getting any distance out of it yeah and I have this terrible swing out then you know you don't I mean you're a consistent player though but I am consistent yeah than the driver yeah so the driver is definitely awesome and I play a ton of golf together over the years and I would say that's your biggest weakness yeah if you could gain some yardage and get a little straighter you probably shave like five off your handicap yeah mostly off the tee for you it is mostly off the tee and my long club so I would say that I have a problem with pretty common and it's the worst thing to be playing defensively from the tee box yeah you know because the one said one you know if you don't get that first short way the hole is then recovery mode yeah trying to get it back and play then trying to give it somewhere up close and you're always trying to say you know sometimes save bogeys yeah well bogeys never mind you know you know looking for pars well that's the thing because when we play a little net action if you're making pars yeah oh you're you're you're lighting us all up yeah so that's the thing so he's kind of taking your almost taking a penalty off the tee a lot of the time and your short game and putting and stuff kind of save you but if you could get in that fairway to begin with be deadly I mean so you obviously scratch goal for Sam at 20 you guys have your game and and you're giving Sam you know a stroke a hole and two on the two hardest holes in the course is a 20 sandwich one and play right down in the middle you're in trouble I'm in a lot of trouble and he finds it hilarious when he doesn't because he knows his goddess we've had some good bets over the years no but that's you're absolutely right because once he's in the fairway he's you're definitely stronger iron player for sure and he's near the green is for your handicap is very confident so okay there's a lot of potential here great know that that's fantastic so we have to make some driver improvements in order for you to have a better season this year Sam that's the key yeah basically good Allison right excellent let's let's take a look at it let's see if you shots let's have a few shots and let's get an idea what the ball flight is so okay okay and I'm guessing Sam you wouldn't be unhappy with that you know distance wise it's not when you what you're looking for but obviously get it in the fairway bet more so love that one yeah that's it that's a typical shot for you a Sammy like a little this is exactly it okay look for the raid and I say I write a hit and off yeah cuz and that's and you had you have a pretty strong hybrid or something that you use sometimes off the tee yeah I have a three hybrid yeah that I use so he a lot of the time when we play you'll tee off with that and you're not wrong you kind of get almost the same distance at times because the driver is just not efficient okay good stuff nice oh wait the other way Sam better straight that time too but you do get that one once in a while they of course yeah where you kind of get I like that actually better yeah it doesn't matter right it feels like it's got a bit more potential that one doesn't it but the reality is it's probably you know fifth where we are we there 62 yards left it's probably probably hazard probably into the bushes taking a drop okay let's see yeah a couple more yeah again the very playable but not overly long yeah one that we were discussing okay Sam so that's that's six of God there and I'm going to eliminate one just because it was you know just a that long hair not really representative but the rest are kind of doing the same sort of thing we've got got reasonably shutter berry yeah reasonably tight pattern and one can a bit of a pull in there but really what we're dealing with is is less of the one to the left really what we're dealing with that yes if for sure I would say if you hit ten shots Sam like seven or eight of them you're missing to the right side of the fairway at least guarantee yeah yeah okay so you know killer running through that the numbers here salmon see what's going on actually we just discussed making a little a ball position change and it's actually worked quite nicely yeah your your strike is not nearly as low in the head and your your angle attack isn't and isn't as up as it was so I mean most people talk about hitting up on the ball and it is generally a good thing yeah seven point three is not as much as maybe a little too too much okay no the ball is kind of on its way you know CG is kind of pet low point on its way up interesting I'm so the sweet spot is moving so that's an issue for making good contact at that point it can be that's one of the kind of certainly the red flags on that page for me so okay and let's look at let's look at the sort of flight here um baby being able spend as high as forty four hundred as low as 1700 ball speed wise you know one twenty two point eight so you know leakage everywhere yeah so we saw the the better strikes were too high in spending for sure that was an obvious pattern yeah and we could definitely afford to pick up based on his club head speed ball speed wise we could pick up a few yards we see the efficiency is under one point four so we know we could get somewhere to that yeah I mean one thing I've seen from Sam haven't kind of watch the warm-up today prior to his turning the cameras on and as his bowl fleet has become a little more erratic his speed is Ashna dropped a little bit hesitating in business can I almost play within himself and kind of trying to dial that back to it hit some fair reason which is very common because that's what everyone's natural instinct will lead them to do so yeah I mean Sam is that is that fair reflection as to what you fight on the golf course that's exactly that's it right there okay so you know you ain't being fair bit the whole thing you're like everyone else you're coming out the winter now and you're shaking off the rust and you know this is this is kind of what you struggle with the early part in the season I would imagine so I'm less sure of it yep let's improve it look at something new on his hands let's do it okay good stuff okay Sam so we had a look at your own driver and obviously saw what was going on with it exactly as you described it twos fades that can often be a little bit more than a fade and into sliced territory and the natural reaction is also the left one as well yeah so as soon as you hit a bunch to the right you're gonna try to make an adjustment sometimes you can overcook it and you hit the cool hookers you know and so all shots that are possible from the out and yeah swing path exactly and two-way mess is a tough thing to deal with it's tough because then your timings is hurting a little bit yeah and that's the thing so right so we've got you put something together for here we've got in a new Callaway rogue we've got in the draw series a nice lightweight stable shaft by frigid cure the speeder 474 okay regular flex 45 inches we talked a little bit about Sam's driver and maybe being a fraction light and if some of the issues that some may be having from a consistency standpoint and I think we saw that so I think that's a cool one to key in on because there's so many things that affect the consistency of strike for Sam that setup being cut down yeah because of the way it was balanced may have actually been detrimental to him hitting it more solid whereas now you may give him more length that he may hit it more solid because it's properly balanced yeah yeah I think that's exactly what we're likely to see so I've grabbed the 9 degree head and we'll shut it down a little bit so it's actually got ten and a half degrees and loft on because of the way the sleeve works that's it will close the head a little bit more so we're trying to kind of match up that face to path relationship as much as we possibly can so when you get that out to end swing path and you've got the open clubface yeah you get the get the glancing blow yes so you don't you get two two different sort of you know energy producing factors path and face right you've got themselves you know really kind of moving in different directions we want to line those two factors up in order to create max mostly one perpendicular type relation as much as we can yes much as we can you know Sammy's get the the out to end going on so we actually want to try and keep the clubface between target and path gotcha okay very cool all right Sam let's have you [Music] all right Sam so really good start and the the rule draw was was nice for you and very straight looking at your your most waiver Drive sixteen point five yards to the right really brought it in no big deal at all yeah the the ball speed we saw a little bit of a spike in ball speed we jumped up three miles an hour but we're still not quite optimizing them like we were just seeing their to Sam well well no we found out what we need to do to make his drivable straight yes we know you have to start to implement the this of launch characteristics that will make it go far right so we're early early ways we're seeing too much spin too much spend too much launch and ultimately that's driven by too much dynamic touches so we got to get the dynamic life down but already some more ball speed yeah it got on there well I mean we talked a little bit about Sam's makeup being having a little bit short a little bit light yep and we thought that a little bit more ball speed would be a possibility right we've got more club head speed Sam going on so we'll picked up three miles in our club head speed that that inch of lane that's big and then the club is going to drive that three man with the swing weight help increase the club head speed should do should do so it's kind of a momentum thing I guess so I'm good all right we have to try and bring that ball flight down a little bit but we're on to a great start so yeah okay [Music] that was a bit better yeah much better okay so we were you know after the first one we saw the ball flight a little bit high in Spinney we obviously realized we had to lose a little bit loft so we've dropped down to the M 3 which is I'm really finding it to be quite a low spin head but good and ball speed as well and we can have one in old fronts with that when we got a better launch angle better spin we talked of it just the objective was sub 3 tho yes they thought trying to make it 2200 not trying to make it you know anything specific you know the target was just sub sub 3000 so the big the big change their loft biggest thing was a lot of degree and a half of loft less than what we were using so people will be people who can't be looking at this going you know Sam is a 20 handicapper he should use 10.5 she really draw a draw head of sub Kate yeah that design is a nightmare mmm and here's why Sam adds a ton of loft yes if we give Sam a high loft the driver he's gonna just add more loft for it and lose more distance put more spin on exactly so this is a this is an 8.5 head that Sam is good at close to playing nine point five right but we're already seeing the dynamic loft come though named degrees a lot of verses and the other drivers so we can see the strike points are variable and that's a thing came up a bit though we saw like the strike point came up on the head quite a bit it did that with this driver I really did and how was the shaft influencing I guess they were obviously helping him take a little bit of loft often so what what was the story with that chef nice and lightweight I have a speeder profile that evolution one is quite quick tip stiff but it really in 45 grams nothing's - yes yes you know it's designed to be that way but I've actually moved salmon to know into a different driver shaft okay move them into an accuracy s1 which is quite a stable tip but a little bit counter balance shaft Carrabelle so again trying to conflate that down a little bit but really get a nice dispersion going on here yeah our caddy distances up 24 yards yeah we started trending on the right track we are we are both good you know a significant improvement nearly 30 yards in total by increasing the ball speed and bringing the launch and spin all the way down so it's quite a clear difference in our even if we just look at those two the original orange flight versus the new the new so red one hmm so it's quite a lot better Sam how did that last Drive of fuel they feel okay yeah feel quite solid yep it sure did I mean we've got got a couple things going on we'll get the hand a little Klaus Sam we'll get the weight you know in the heel of the driver so trying to encourage the rotation of that head okay let's let's see a few with this one hopefully this is pretty darn close now [Music] okay Sam that was those big changes there big big changes so I think that last combination that tilma dem three with the weight in the heel what the CS one shaft near accra was was the that was the one that was the game change so much better conform took a ton of spin off yeah and it just seemed like much easier to square the face with that combination how did it feel in your hands it felt really good yeah yeah start to feel a much more square striking much less that glancing blow that we're discussing earlier yeah okay excellent let's run through the numbers a little bit here Matti and see what we've got so going on let's do the comparison because it's quite starring me says it's unbelievable it's a game-changer really for Sam in terms of the the distance that he is no capable of hitting it yeah so we made some kind of interesting adjustments with the club so we've got him in a swing weight that makes sense now well have your swing weight it's about that alone I mean you might have that might have been enough you know for a lot of people to get better performance out of the club but we also went took a bunch of spin off you kind of got that launch angle in a better window there yeah and a lot was learned just you know for Sam's swing he kind of became aware of the path of his swing and how open the clubface was so part of this fitting experience for Sam was okay now I'm more aware of what I'm doing yeah I think it allowed him to make just some better golf swings and and deliver with a little more speed and and and not be as I guess over the top and open with with the face the thing with Club fitting Matt is you know there's a lot of people will try and deliver static sort of ideas as to what the player needs from a Club fitting Sam yes so they'll do Resta floor they'll do all these sorts of static measurements and then come up with all these theories you've got to see it motion yeah right so we saw Sam when he first started swinging the club club path was average in eleven point three out ten yep the club face was on average it was about seven degrees let's see what it was relative to par it was five point or so four degrees open to the path okay lots of flies I can law strikes justice not a great scenario first Sam to gain some distance lots of dynamic loft weekend had a discussion with Sam there just about how you can go about swinging a little bit more mutual yep and lose some of that loft exactly the club path beam is out to end as it was was kin a cousin Sam to hang on to the club face and and really kind of add too much laughs there's launch and spin and loose ball speed yep that last wing we just made was Sam right there well actually pull that last one up like that type of shape - Sam is just a totally different game changer yeah to see that nice kin of penetrating flight arcing over with with whale a spin and and some draw spins some joy absolutely that's I mean that's massive so we launched that last one at twelve twenty-four hundred look at the ball speed I know crazy 114 I the baseball speed where that thing was 124 yeah 16 mile an hour change my know one thing we say at the salmon that last when he was hitting it so good we said listen just free up and I think that's part of the story I mean obviously people will look and say the swing with the first club versus the swing with the last Club obviously they were very different but I think it's important to say the club was a factor because it allowed him to swing a little more freely the club was coming in without him doing anything it was already more square so I think Sammy you can probably speak to that it freed you up a bit a hundred percent yeah so you were making better swings just with your you know your mental stayin with the club so it was a pretty interesting session to see what what could be done on both fronts with the club and actually with Sam's motion what you start to gain the confidence that Sam was and and we've talked about this I think we talked about it maybe in Lindsay's video yeah I heard that you know stuff you know speed and how it increase I mean look at that ninety four point six nine to seven ninety to eight and we said to Sam you're swinging great you know free up and let's let's hit one night eight miles an hour yep we go back to them you know the ping the ping was averaging 10 miles an hour less so it's not even really apples for apples but there's a reason why Sam was able to swing that much quicker yeah the weight of the club the length of the club and it's not long it's just standard lane that's 45 inch it's not what's not well not knowing operating the driver yeah but we've made him a balanced driver that really can of complements you know what we're trying to get for sandwiches you know a lure flight with less launch and spin yeah and the great part I guess with an adjustable head is if he hopefully will start to see that left pattern being a little more common and less slices obviously you can just adjust the the clubface angle back to square versus a little bit close and then the weight biasing yeah that back to the center lies that little bit and that's part of the concierge service that comes here at thg specifically is that we we can work with our clients throughout the season yeah and adjust the equipment to suit that's what a lot of the questions I've been people concerned that this is not an extreme set up but they're concerned if they really go one way with the fitting am I kind of in trouble later in the year when I work on my swing and that's something people have to be aware of I mean you you may need to readjust yeah and it may you may go to a club fitting place that maybe you will have to come back and pay for an adjustment or pay for that advice that kind of is what it is but you can't just get it you know one way and assume it's perfect forever because your swing is gonna change exactly so you have to reassess and I want to just you know stress that you know because some people might get a wrong impression we don't charge for that yeah no not so yeah so we you know that's part of like the the fitting experience comes with with that kind of relationship you know for the length of time that you want to play that driver that we've told you is the right one we are where you're where you're kind of equipment experts yeah that will help you get the most out of that driver for as long as you want to play and hopefully the industry starts to kind of trend that way so yeah cuz that's that's the future of it obviously the only reason I brought it up is because I think people will say well my fitter doesn't do that or my store doesn't do that so hopefully that will kind of become more of a trend I know you guys do it but it's so important because it just you can't be expected to be exactly the same every season or even beginning to end it's part of why we carry you know the range of shafts and heads that we do that are at times a bit more expensive yeah it's because we have so much confidence that you guys will hit that well examine you know right now I'm saying to you like please you know invest in that driver because it's a game changer for you like the discussions we were having about the confidence and you know you feel when the driver really needed to be the catalyst to the improvement your game like I would be I'd be dipping into my own pocket to value that driver after after performance like that so like that was one class improvement and in that amount of improvement is really gonna change your game yeah and I think it's important to note that that was an insane amount of difference but it's not like it's not like it can happen it can happen once again my son Coleman I mean that you know we always we always get talked about you know we if we sneak five to ten percent improvement we're in great shape of course I mean Sam's kind of so I'm stuck on that out of the water he's stuck at other 50 yards on an average there and but but this is badly fit driver to really really well fit driver plus a little bit of a swing dynamic awareness change that's that's the expedient that's an actual experience of getting fit that's the way it should be to get fit very cool good Sam actually can I thought the camper he's got to be excited yeah that's what we won that's what we're all about that's that's why we do we do we try and help people enjoy the game or get better to achieve their goals whatever they may be the customer will always set those goals for us for sure and and you know we hope to head out of the parks and I'm not giving you a shot a whole this season if you give you half of those maybe yeah guys I hope this gave you a good little insight into some of the things that we can do the higher handicap scenario is one that we're gonna really really live here for a while if we can just talk about these scenarios and how we can make changes like this throughout the back this is just a driver so beginning and when we start to look at other parts of the game you know for Sam or you guys whoever it may be we hope to make you know measurable improvement throughout the bag ultimately lower the handicap ultimately get you shouldn't lower scores towards all enjoying the game a little bit more yeah love it yeah good stuff guys of these heads and any range of handicap depending on how you spec it up we've done the players version this is what we're going to call the game improvement version because obviously applies to everyone everyone's improving their game let's get stuck in right guys top three game improvement drivers drivers that could appeal to any golfer out there number three coming in we're going with tightness nine thirteen d2 this is a bit of a surprise for lots of people because tightness is normally a brand associated so much more with performance and seen on tour is certainly used by a lot of here and it moves or the heel and it moves the more resistant that club is are twisting the better you'll be when you're not hitting the middle of the club now for you game improves out there beginner's hand at any handicaps but generally let's talk say slightly higher if you like these clubs of high mo I are going to be ideal for you 913 d2 features that we get all black looking head for 60 head lovely big head loads of custom options and you've also got the custom options in the very changeable shelf with neck the changes loft or what have you let's give it a hit I've got G c2 down on the floor I've actually hit some my type is Pro v1x gaming balls to show you a few numbers with these clubs just to show you how they perform because they do perform as good as any now what's interesting with this one even like I say this one's in the game improvement number or category this is seen on tour by the best a lot they also want that hi mo I also just give it a hit show you what it feels like so nice big head looks very sleek in it's all black finished and that big head is going to appeal to a lot of people certainly for user friendliness you know it looks forgiving let's give it hit feels great off the face it makes very nice sound it's not too loud but it comes off of a loud enough ping to make you feel like you have cracked it away and just give it another hit so really for these kind of brackets are drivers which is interesting you remember guys with all these three which are the best for people who want as much help as possible with their drivers but they also crossover and none of these drivers are read easy because the driver can only do a certain amount for you you've got to be doing a lot of the work yourself but where maybe some of the smaller headed ones might not be as easy this one through testing getting people to hit it of all standards often comes out very popular for them getting hit that one nicely I could so easily and have gained the older version of this club just 913 d2 hi mo I sure fit next so you can change it around nice big 460 head it's a friendly driver lots of people think tight this is purely aimed at the better player it's not when I get this driver into any standard of golfer from beginners down into the tall unto the pros I teach this one often comes out with words like like the feel of that yeah that one looks good those kind of things yeah that feels friendly I feel like I could hit that so my number three tightness 913 d2 go check it out right guys number two game improvement drivers drivers because appeal to all standards a golfer we're looking at Callaway Big Bertha where else Big Bertha I grew up with Big Bertha it's a big name in my mining golf I'm so pleased Callaway brought this back out and in the way they've done it it's a great performing club what do we get we get sliding rail on the back trying to help a little bit of fade draw control with where we put this moving weight at the back it's going to affect how you close the club through impact how the club rotates a little bit which could affect your shape of shots you get away in the heel here as well which can be heavier and what have you to get a changeable weight you also get this changeable neck in two different settings this is going to change again face and it's also going to change loft as well so you get very large amount to custom custom ability for this one putting down by the ball nice big head shape you get the nice callaway line up line silver face to the darker blue head looks very very good this club again used by Tour Pros and another one when I give it to amateurs it's those words they like the look of it they like this big head they like the feel of it those things and the numbers that come off these clubs are generally pretty good for people let's give this one a hit I caught that one slightly low necky and that is still flown well and that's what I mean about high mo I which this club and the others certainly will enjoy they are designed to try and help you when you hit it in all parts of the face like I did there to still get some performance on it let's give that another hit to love what Callaway are doing with this brand it like I say it's one that's close to my heart big burr fun to see it come back with such style is a great thing yeah I hit that really well it's a nice sound off the face and it feels again like I say very friendly nice big footprint down by the ball cattle a big word for you get lots of custom kind of change ability on this one which is great you wouldn't mess around with that so much but it gives your kind of preferred retailer the charts of really specking it up for you to make sure you get that desired wolf like Callaway Big Bertha number two in the more friendly driver section let's see what comes in at number one right guys my number one ping g25 again this driver is gamed by tour pros but another one when you put in the hands of amateurs few features you get it's a 460 head but the footprint out of all of these ones the footprint of this club is bigger so what that means when I put it down on the ground they mount what kind of grass coverage you get down there is big it's stretched out at the back which that big head that big footprint really for people inspires confidence and certainly if you're someone who doesn't hit the middle of the club that much confidence is what you want you get weights at the back again to try and increase the mo I very minimal change ability on the neck I think it's only half a degree up and down just to give you all fitter and more than you a chance of optimizing your bull fly this is a driver with its black sleek looks large head high mo I numbers on this one or pings a and all the other companies because I'm not particularly testing that it's almost impossible for me to test are this club is definitely when putting players hands all standards they can get some very good numbers I'm going to be showing you the numbers from all three in a second from G C to H of two with my real balls let's just hit ping g25 I've actually played this club before and putting down pipe always just yummy it's so big just looks like you're cheating it makes a slightly louder ting than the others which I don't mind at all and lots of people love that sound because it makes them feel like they've really nailed it when it makes that bigger ting it's that big profile and like I say so Ben dinero you speck this one up north shafts however you want to speck it up you know this can go in any golfers bag as long as you want something that's big friendly when you hit it off Center is going to twist as little as any club out there on the market and again what I love about ping and I've said this before no bells and whistles little bit changeability high mo I sleep black don't need um fancy colors just a good honest Golf Company producing some very high performing golf equipment you always feel with ping I certainly do it's about how it performs first and then it sits shop appeal so how it sits in the shop second where some of the other companies you often feel like it's how it looks first what colors and ways how is it going to watch it's kind of shelf appeal going to have and then we'll get some performance on it second second where for ping it's about performance and if it has to look this way to perform better then it has to look this way okay let's give this one weight and then we'll show you the numbers our ping g25 is my number one for you guys I can't hit that lovely so easy to launch this club so let's show you the numbers and show you why I put this one out there at my number one spot with some the numbers from GC to HMT here here we go guys then here are the numbers for my top three I the 913 D - first of all carrying two sixty with two thousand one hundred reps spin it's as close respect to me as I could get it going into the Big Bertha to sixty again zactly the same carry two thousand two hundred spin so you can see they're almost performing identically I've got the are nine thirteen launching up at 15 degrees down to thirteen average with the big birth a little bit of that to do a strike but definitely the tight list feels like it does launch up a little higher then going on to the ping g25 I mean I got on walk through out there today at 267 carry for me and a to 69 on the Callaway but that's averaging to 64 so I mean they're four yards carry within the three clubs they're performing almost identically apart from obviously the strike is just pushing free shots over the other sets of three spin on that one slightly lower down at two thousand all these drivers are low spinning high mo I good performing nice big headed clubs that will make you feel like you can hear driver but you've got to remember this is the game improvement section all these clubs are gained by brett-o some of the best players in the world as well as beginners and there isn't a driver out there that can help you if you're hitting a 20-yard slice that's going to be your doing you've got to fix that but if you're hitting a driver say 20-yard slice every time but you hit different parts of the face you'll get more stability on these than you might on others so if you're looking for a driver that's friendly at these three go and try them go and give them a hit see which numbers appeal to you these are my numbers you need to go and test it and see which numbers suit your game best but for me ping g25 my number one go and give it a go if you
