It is just another day at the course and you are perfecting your backhand disc throws.
You are going through a great round when suddenly your shoes get ripped. It is the third time this month and you are seriously getting frustrated.
Disc golf is different from its traditional counterpart, as it is generally played in more uneven terrains.

An HONEST Review
hey everyone kevin here from golf guy reviews UK and today we're going to be looking at the puma NXT ignite golf shoe this is a spikeless shoe currently retailing in the UK for around 110 pounds and today we're looking at the disc based version of the lacing system as you can see the NXT ignite is a trainer style golf shoe rather than a traditional style golf shoe and for me I think the color scheme looks absolutely fantastic here we've got the gray the black and the gold and they've really worked well together and it's not big and bulky it's a sleek stylish sharp looking show and for me I think it's an absolute winner I think it looks great on the golf course there's a really good summer shoe so as we take a look at the upper you can see that it's made from this lightweight mesh knitted material and it's not too thin and it's not too thick it will provide a good amount of ventilation through the summer and it's nice and light to wear on the course you can see at the rear and at the ankle of the show it's made from a kind of like a mere neoprene style material and again it's nice and comfortable nice and fitted around the ankle it's not too thick it's not too petty but it's also not too thin and flimsy if it was just about right throughout the show Puma have also fitted what's called the power frame technology and these are these plastic ridges that go at the front and to the sides of the show but a lightweight but give the shoe good stability now I've been using these shoes out on the course for a couple of months and I've got to admit when I first got them with the disc as fastening system I was pretty dubious I wasn't sure it's gonna be able to lock down my feet enough I just wasn't sure if we're going to be comfortable enough actually the system is really easy to use you just twist it off to the left and then you can loosen the shoes as much as one and then you pop the shoe on and then twist it to the right and the laces pull across now when I compared these to the traditional laces version of the shoe I found that the disc fastening locked down my foot a lot better within the show inside you've got a reasonable amount of padding there's not too much going on in there but with the neoprene style sides is actually really flexible and really comfortable so I felt that I had a lot of flexibility and give around my ankles in my Hill while still remaining locked down in the show taking a quick look at the sole Puma I've used a TPU proform outsole what this means is that they've included over a hundred strategically placed hexagonal lugs right across the sole to maximize stability in traction now I've been using this on the course and I've used it on some pretty wet days and I would say it gives a good amount of traction but it's not gonna be for those really really heavy downpours so keep it to the dryer and to the dewy grass now in this review I wanted to highlight what I thought was a really cool feature of these shoes I've used them for a few rounds and I'm not cleaning them at all so as you can see here there's a good amount of kind of dirt and grit and turf and grass stains on these shows now what Puma have done is wrap the entire midsole in what they call soul shield and this is a micro thin TPU film layer which has been vacuum formed onto the shoe and as you can see here if I just give them a very very quick wipe over with a standard wipe it comes off incredibly easy so just as a just kind of gave them a standard wipe and then dried them off with a paper towel in a couple of seconds you can see that they've come up looking as good as no on another trainers I definitely would have had to give them a proper good clean but on these they wipe clean in an instant which i think is a brilliant feature with the shoes on the first thing you notice is the incredibly soft Ignite foam these shoes are really really comfortable now they're not quite as soft and flexible as the adidas boost technology but it's pretty close in my opinion and they're right up there with the nike react midsoles as well so this is a really really comfortable shoe and you're gonna have no problems playing a full day's round of golf in these they're nice and flexible in the toe box you've got plenty of room as well and I didn't think I'd say this but I've become really fond of the disc lacing technology it's so easy to use and so convenient just to give it a quick little tighten midway through your round so in summary I think the Puma NXT ignite is a fantastic summer spikeless golf shoe and I totally recommend you check it out

Things to Consider When Buying a Disc Golf Shoe
There are several important factors that you should consider before your purchase if you want to get the best pair of shoes for playing disc golf. We have discussed those factors below to ensure that you don’t go wrong with your purchase.
Deciding between Hiking Shoes or Golf Shoes
It isn’t necessary to specifically wear disc golf shoes while playing the game. In addition to them, you can also use shoes designed for hiking or playing golf. Both have their pros and cons.
Shoes designed for hiking are very rigid and tough. They are meant to withstand harsh conditions and get dirty and wet. They are also almost always waterproof. The only problem with these shoes is that they are heavier than typical shoes which could be an issue for some people.
Conventional golf shoes, on the other hand, are more breathable and lighter; this is important especially for those playing in humid conditions. However, they might not stay dry when you are on the course on dewy mornings.
You should consider the environment when choosing between hiking shoes or golf shoes just in case you can’t find a suitable pair of disc golf shoes. If you often find yourself dealing with dewy and muddy courses, hiking shoes would be a better option.
When it comes to size, you should stick with your regular size. Make sure to check if the shoe perfectly before buying. In case you are stuck between two sizes, it is best to settle for a size down instead of a size up. If you choose a bigger pair, your foot might slip inside it as you are throwing the disc.
This can lead to injury if you fall over. However, this doesn’t mean that you should buy a shoe that is too tight because comfort is an important factor. You won’t be able to wear a pair that’s very tight for too long.
You don’t want to lose your balance and slip mid-throw. This is why it is important to get a pair that offers great grip. Many of the high-quality hiking shoes have a thick rubber outsole with deep tread marks. With these shoes on your feet, you can easily traverse frost-covered dirt and wet grass without slipping.
Prioritizing grip will also give you confidence when throwing the disc. You will be able to throw it as hard as you want with proper technique without any fear of falling over.
Waterproof shoes tend to be less breathable. So you should determine what’s more important to you. Disc golf shoes are generally not water-resistant, but they are extremely breathable and comfortable.
On the other hand, hiking shoes are waterproof and they can be worn while playing disc golf. So you should decide whether water-resistance is more important to you or breathability and then pick your pair of shoes accordingly.
The weight of your shoes can make or break your game. Heavier shoes offer more protection and will prevent foot injuries like a sprained ankle. On the other hand, lighter shoes will allow you to be more explosive with your throws and you’ll be able to use momentum to your advantage.
If you are an experienced player, then heavier shoes would be a better option for you as you’ll be able to avoid foot injuries. Once you get the hang of it, you can switch to lightweight disc golf shoes.
This is a no-brainer. But what is within your budget. If you can’t find a good pair, consider waiting until you have saved enough instead of wasting your money on low-quality footwear.
Questions and Answers about Disc Golf Shoes
Q.1) What are the Ideal Brands for Disc Golf Shoes?
Adidas and Puma are the best brands to go with if you are looking to buy disc golf shoes. Adidas has introduced some exceptional hiking boots so if you go with it, you would get extremely tough and durable shoes.
Puma, on the other hand, will provide you with a sportier option which might not last as long but would be more comfortable and breathable.
Q.2) How Much Will Disc Golf Shoes Cost?
There are a variety of disc golf shoes available in the market at different price points. The cheapest options are in the range of $20-$50, but they aren’t worth it. They are cheap because they are made with low-quality materials. As a result, they aren’t durable and would fall apart quite easily, especially when subject to harsh conditions.
Similarly, you don’t have to put a dent in your wallet by buying a $200 pair of shoes, unless you intend to become the very best in the game. These more expensive products feel awesome to wear and offer a great balance between comfort, breathability, and waterproofing, but they aren’t worth the money.
This is because there are better-value options available at a much lower price point.
We recommend you go for a mid-range shoe at around $80-$120. This will allow you to get a good quality product without spending a lot. Make sure to check the features of the disc golf shoe you are buying and only buy if they justify the price.
In our list of best disc golf shoes, we haven’t listed more expensive shoes as we know that they aren’t the best value for money.
Q.3) Are Waterproof Shoes Necessary?
Waterproof shoes are a great option for people who play disc golf in muddy, rainy or slippery conditions. They’ll be able to enjoy at ease in these types of conditions if they have a pair of waterproof shoes on their feet. However, there is a catch – waterproof shoes make the feet uncomfortable as they don’t let it breathe in the heat too well.
So, if you won’t be playing in tough conditions, it is better to go with a pair of comfortable and breathable shoes that aren’t water-resistant.
Q.4) What Else Should You Look Out for?
Do you find your feet hurting after a long day at the courses? This could happen because your shoes lack arch support. Lack of arch support can cause pain in the bottom of your feet. Therefore, you should look for excellent arch support so that your foot doesn’t slide and digs into the laces.
Look for warranty offered by the brand, especially covering waterproofing. Several manufacturers offer a warranty on their disc golf shoes, which serves as a testament to their superior craftsmanship.
A shoe that features padded insole will be more comfortable and you won’t feel tired even after wearing it for hours.
Q.5) Can You Use Running Shoes While Playing Disc Golf?
Running shoes aren’t really the best choice for disc golfers. Disc golf tends to be very tough on shoes. It just eats them up in no time and you will find yourself replacing a pair after every week or two. This is why you should avoid using running shoes for disc golf. Instead of these shoes, either buy disc golf shoes or wear hiking shoes that are designed to be tough and durable.
Q.6) What are the Best Disc Golf Shoes for Bad Weather?
You might occasionally be required to play disc golf in bad weather. This is why it is important to invest in a pair of quality hiking shoes that you can wear when playing disc golf in bad weather.
Q.7) Are Grip and Traction Really Important?
Grip and traction are very important aspects. If your pair lacks grip and traction, you might slip while throwing the disc. This won’t just ruin your round, but could also result in a serious injury even if you slip on the grass. So when you are buying a disc golf shoe, make sure it offers excellent grip and traction.
If you are tired of buying a new pair of shoes every month because your disc golf rounds on rough terrains keep ruining them, invest in a good quality disc golf shoe.
Disc golf tends to be tough on your shoes, which is why conventional running shoes are generally not the right option for the game. Disc golf shoes should be worn while playing this game.
Whether it is clear grass fields or rough terrains, disc golf shoes will provide the support and confidence you need to nail those throws. Not only that, but they will keep your feet dry when you paying in bad weather thanks to their waterproof features.
Shopping for a disc golf shoe isn’t easy, but if you consider the factors – grip, weight, price, and size – we have listed above, you should be able to get a great pair of shoes.
The five models we have listed above are the best disc golf shoes you can currently find in the market.
Since we have done the research work for you, you don’t have to spend time searching through disc golf shoes on the internet.
